Thoughts on Thursday

Apparently B is living the organizational life now too. He just declared that he is cleaning up his lego sets, rebuilding everything and putting them on the shelving unit we have. I was all in, got out the instructions for him, separated what was built and not and set him up to just finish a few near complete items.

He then yells 'CAN YOU HELP ME FIND THIS ONE PIECE'

I kind of hate myself right now.

M has been in LEGO mode all week. He comes home from camp and goes into his room to build. He may come out to play outside for a while. After dinner and bath, he stays in his room building. It’s been nice.

Now if I could get M2 to do the same... or just play with anything for hours and not bother me much.

Good point vino. His birthday is only 2 weeks away. I just always like to hoard stuff and then buy it all at once lol.

Last week I sprayed all the weeds on the back of our house and around the swing set. But they never died. Went to spray them again and realized I used bug killer last week 🤦‍♀️

I went to lunch with my girls from work. It was the first time we have seen each other in 4months. One of my friends is touchy and you could tell she was trying to control herself but then she touched my arm and i looked at her and gasped and told her she can’t touch me. After they all stopped picking on me we talked about how weird this all is. Then I sanitized my arm 😬🤷‍♀️ Gotta do what you gotta do. It’s just so crazy how jumpy this has made me. We had a great time though. It was so nice to catch up and just chat with someone who isn’t related to me.

Boys are at my moms, playing in their fort. Which is really just an over grown unbrella tree. Mallory and I are playing in the front yard. I have 30 minutes of weed eating left. But she woke up from her nap so I'll do it as soon as A gets home.

I don’t mind being called honey/hon by anyone of any age. “Hon” is our thing here so we’ve all grown up being called that by everyone. It’s warm and familiar to me. 🙂

I guess sweetie might be a little weird if the person saying it was younger than me.

A guy at the Subway we used to frequent calls the women "Mamas". Oddly, I don't mind it. Call me whatever you want, just make my sandwich right. And he makes a mean sandwich. 🥪

Sort of the same. I met someone from Josie’s school mat the parking lot of the market I was curbside picking up at this morning and we talked for 10 minutes or so. I feel like I lost my small talk skill.

Speaking of mamas, I am not sure I am cut out for that Facebook mom group thing. Most posts are- Mama this, Mama that. Every time I read a post and they are addressing everyone Mama, I cringe. It’s just weird to me. I don’t like it. Call us ladies, women, something other than Mama. MAMA.

ETA: I joined my first FB mom group(for my area) a little over a week ago.

Backstory. They have 3 girls and my sister wants a 4th and BIL doesn't. I think my sister is trying for an "accidental 4th".

lahdeedah DD needs an upper GI test. Orders say XR UGI series single contrast. Is this something you do? Is the barium horrible for kids to drink?

I believe that’s what M had done. The white stuff is nasty. She drank enough for them to do the test but it was hard to get her to drink it. She was only 4 though. Any chance you can bribe her?

I HATE when people that are not my children call me mama. It seems they especially like to do it when I’m pregnant for some reason. I make an exception for people at the doctors office because they don’t necessarily know what my name is (the pedi and his primary nurse both know my name).

Not something I do, but I can ask about it at work tomorrow. Every place is different in regards to what they use and how they do it, but I will ask to get a general feel and let you know.

I do don’t mind when I’m at the pedi or doctor with the kids and they address me as mama. Not a problem at all. But when every post on FB to a bunch of women is... Ok Mamas, I need a nail place. Tell me Mamas, who is sending their kid back to school? I just...😖. Staaahhp!

Thank you. I have to call tomorrow to make the appointment. I can take her to the same place that did her MRI last year and they were really good with her.

She is my easy kid for most things but she’s not good with doctors and when she makes up her mind about something, it’s really hard. I’d have to think of a really good bribe because there is not much we can do these days 😂

A's sister wanted to stop by. Said she needed to talk to him. I was nursing MJ down when she got here and I can hear her sobbing but I really dont want to go out and deal with that... but i want oreos and milk. Imabitch.

H turned his notice in late this afternoon. His boss told him he wasnt working his 2 weeks and to get his truck cleaned out. So we spent all evening unloading all his tools into boxes and storage totes.

H wants to take the company truck up tomorrow and turn it in and stop at a dealership and look at a truck.

Like, no, I just want to go to the damn lake. So I'm avoiding talking to him about it. He wants to wait til Saturday to head to the lake.

I swear, he doesnt want this vacation to happen.

We met up with M’s friend and his mom and it rained on us. We had no clue rain was coming. It has not rained for weeks and rain was not in the forecast. We were far from the car, so we ran to the nearest pavilion to wait it out. The boys had fun though.

So instead of coming home to pack to go to my mom’s tomorrow after work, I came home and had to wash/blow out my hair. The whole process takes me 1.5-2 hours depending on how much the boys interrupt me. It’s after 11 and I’m beat. Work in the AM. MH will pack the boys stuff tomorrow and I will have to come home to throw stuff in my suitcase and go.

mwhip I take it his (former)employer is not thrilled with the notice. Was Yh surprised at his reaction or did he expect it?

H was shocked they told him to leave.  Any other time a field service tech has turned in notice, they had them work their 2 weeks.  They recently transferred H to another department so I think his new boss was butt hurt he is leaving and made a snap decision, not normal company policy.

klong11  He wants to go look at and potentially buy a used truck today, to use as his daily driver.  I feel like it can wait.  He now has 2 weeks off, he could drive his car or my jeep during that time or who knows when I'll go back in the office regularly.  Plus I want to look at our finances more, I'm not really excited about adding a 3rd car payment to the mix, plus insurance so I'd like to see if I could pay off at least 1 low balance credit card.  But he swears he's found the best deal and the sales guy is calling him telling him lots of people are interested in it.  Yeah, that's his job!
