Is anyone else watching this? Does anyone else play The Sims? AnnPerkins reignited my obsession and Tlex asked about it today so I’ll tag them in here. I think jaygee played too. If I could figure out who else liked that post I’d tag them too. I want everyone’s thoughts, but my main one is that it is very rough around the edges. I’m also enjoying how the Sims community is freaking out at the competitiveness of a competition show.

Also, here is episode 1 for those who don’t know what I’m talking about but have 45 minutes to waste.

I have played, but haven't gotten into the show. I may have to check this out. I only have so many hours in a day and 90 Day Fiance takes up like 85% of my time, but I can probably make room for this.

I'm going to watch either tonight or tomorrow.
Or I'll make my uncool old friends watch it while I sit in their driveway this evening.

I watched this afternoon. It was fun, but also just as weird as I expected it to be. It's definitely a little rough in terms of production and clear vision of the show. That's not going to stop me from watching the rest of it, tho.
I was shook by the quality of the builds in such a short amount of time. It takes me 90min just to finish designing a family half the time I play.
Somehow, all of my children ended up in the room with me before it was over. They were possibly more into it than I was.

I had a baby in January, finished my first year of college in May, and then spent the summer in California where I only knew my H and his family. It was a solid summer of Simming. I was really into the travel/adventure pack where you got to explore tombs and look for treasure. They should bring that back for Sims4.

I don’t actually own it, but that’s my understanding of it.

I don’t actually own it, but that’s my understanding of it. Yep. It's way cool. The only downside is that it's not as large as prior vacation packs. It only adds two new worlds, one involving jungles and hidden temples and one involving the woods and foraging. And there's really only one temple to explore. It does change each time you go, but there's only so many scenarios built into the game, and it can get repetitive. Still fun though. Definitely one of my favorite packs. Confession: I own every single Sims 4 pack. I'm addicted.

Ok, just finished ep2.
Still don't care for fez guy. I'm glad he appeared to release some control for the betterment of the whole team.
I'm sad for team Gnome. Simproved made my favorite sets. Their final story and the one about mermaids were really messy, tho.

Team llama was the only story that made some kind of sense, but I don’t think I could have resisted pandering to the judges either.

If we can't make exact replicas of people we know, have we even Sim-ed?

I haven't played The Sims since having kids and I miss it a lot. I was super involved in Sims 3 and played quite often, also made content as part of a creative request team, etc. I'm torn on whether I should watch it or not as I think it'll just make me sad I have no time to play.

OK, since there are some Sims fan here, I need to ask. I have the Sims 2 (+ 80% of the extensions) and the Sims 4. I have been really disappointed with the Sims 4. I loved building houses and apartment buildings on the Sims 2. Like I would pull blueprints online and recreate it in the game. I would also do custom paint for the walls with the Dreamweaver software (based on Benjamin Moore's colors). This is how intense I was in building mode. I know people have complained but due to that and mostly lack of time, let's be real, I stopped playing. Did they remedy this issue? Do you have a lot more empty lots now?

I spend as little time as possible in build mode because it is not my thing at all, so I can’t answer most of those questions, but there is a whole neighborhood of empty lots (newcrest).

I spend as little time as possible in build mode because it is not my thing at all, so I can’t answer most of those questions, but there is a whole neighborhood of empty lots (newcrest). Adding onto this, I’ve also demolished a bunch of existing houses and then rebuilt them. You could have endless building lots in sims 4 though Skewball, you’d just create a new game whenever you run out. There are options to load previous games so you’d never lose any of the houses you build too
