Ugh nikkipal. I hope you’re physically okay. I know that’s an awful experience regardless.

Oh man, hope you are okay Nikkipal.
I'm hoping it was nothing serious. Take a day off and center yourself.
I've been on the receiving end of a pretty serious hit. It's not a quick bounce back.

Aw, thanks guys. I’m ok, I guess I should have put that in my post. I went to urgent care and got a shot for pain and she gave me the good muscle relaxers. J has been great, and he’s taking good care of me. I should be knocked out to sleep here soon.

Tomorrow I am finally going to the Ortho and I am so ready. My pain is still getting worse/not improving in any way. I had a "phone consult" with my bff's H who is an ortho, in another state, and he seemed confident that my appointment tomorrow would be helpful and is suspecting some sort of bulging disc situation. I do not care what it is at this point I just want it to be a diagnosable, treatable thing with a timeline because it is unbearable.
2020, sucking in almost every way. Moving & Kamala are my beacons of hope right now, that this year won't be a total write-off.

And am only 1/4 moved into my house and planned to spend the weekend fixing that. Scramble scramble scramble.

I don't know anything about nerve blocks but if it blocks pain I want some.

It’s sort of an end of the road option. So don’t hope for that. Basically, they knock you out, cut a small slit by your spine, and inject lidocaine and steroid into the nerve. They can do it twice. If both tries work temporarily, they go back a third time and cauterize the nerve. It’s outpatient, but I’ll be on my ass the rest of the weekend.

Also I’m so sorry. I’ve been in constant pain since September of 2017. But thankfully it doesn’t affect me lower body, just upper. Neck and arms. I can’t imagine if I couldn’t at least walk. I’ll be thinking of you as I slowly drift off into the blissful sleep of anesthesia.

My husbands birthday is a week and a half. Apparently he feels like I ignored him last year so I gotta do something. I'm going to make him a cake next weekend (for cheat day) but I don't even know what type to make. And, like, is that going to be enough? I don't even know. Why has he started caring about his birthday now!? Lol

When I had a herniated disc in my lower back, I ended up finally getting relief from a steroid epidural. I tried nerve pain meds first and they didn't do much.

I had my appt. At first I had the PA who was nice but wanted to do physical therapy for a month and then reevaluate. Then the actual Dr came in and was like "we are not waiting". MH delivered he and his wife's baby last year and I met them at a conference earlier this year so he was very accommodating which I super appreciated. So they did x rays which showed a bone spur in my foot, which was one of the reasons I scheduled the appt in the first place, but we are tabling that issue for now until my back is fixed. Nothing showed up on my back xray, so I'm getting an MRI next week and starting PT and getting steroids.
I cried throughout almost the entire appointment, in front of 4 different providers and I was mortified. So I was embarrassed and consequently sweaty and just a hot mess. I was in so much pain and also I think this is starting to mess with me, mentally, so I was feeling panicky. It was awful. But the people couldn't have been nicer. But omg. And I have to go back there in like a week.

On the bright side, the radio just played my current favorite 3 songs right in a row so I feel like that was a little pat on the back from the universe. "There there you silly lady, listen to some music and try to relax".

milano don’t be embarrassed about crying! You’re in pain! Plus, it probably made them take you a lot more seriously than they may have otherwise. I hope the steroids help.

We got ambushed coming out of our new house last week by the builder’s realtor for a marketing video they were making. I was there measuring for curtains and have paint and saw dust all over my dark blue shirt. Of course, we’re the photo for the video all over their social media.

milano being in pain for a log. Time is very mentally draining. I have cried through many appts. And not just from the pain but from the lack of action and lack of answers and just the frustration of the affect it has on your life. Plus to be in pain in a pandemic where we are all mentally and emotionally drained so hard already. Don’t be embarrassed at all. You aren’t the first and you won’t be the last. Edit: I’m so glad the ortho has a plan and is moving quickly. I hope the steroids help and the PT helps and you feel amazing very soon.
