Just Tuesday.

I'm at the office. Cadence didn't wake up until 6 this morning, so only 15 minutes before my alarm. Does that annoy anyone as much as it annoys me? I hate being woken up just minutes before my alarm.

I told Cadence we would go after work to get her new fish for her tank, so she's very excited.

Back in the office, which is annoying AF. Got everything put in my office and my wireless mouse was missing. Asked someone and they told me one of the customer service people had been in my office...checked her cubicle and sure enough, there it was took it back and she hasnt said a word to me.

It's very weird to be here.

We were all told to change our hours. Smokey said she discussed it with her boss and they decided her hours would be 10-2. She keeps coming in at 8, and then acting like she forgot she wasn't supposed to come in until 10. Her boss doesn't get here until 9/9:30, so it's not like she's working between then. So then she tells him she is leaving at 12 and he gets pissed and she's all, "ok, but you'll have to approve my overtime". It's total b.s.

Morning. My vacation has officially started. I went home a little early because I was done done done. I have some projects I could be working on, but with deadlines of November and January I could not find the motivation today.

I got home to a very sad boy. Het had a play date with his best friend that is transferring school next year. And it just reminded him of the fact that he has no real friends in his class next year. Some of his friends are a little younger so are staying in kinder, one girl is going with him, but is more a family friend than a school friend, her dad and I have know each other since basically the day we were born. I know it’ll probably work itself out, but I’ve been bullied and feeling alone so much of my school days (glasses, braces, book smart and too sweet, not the best combo as a kid) and I so do not want that for him. I hate that I cannot ‘fix’ this for him.

Morning. DH’s aunt and uncle are in town so they want to stop by and meet V. Which means we need to pick up the living room/kitchen because the house is a real disaster.

I don't know her logic. I'm sure she doesn't realize that though. She's probably thinking her check will have the same amount on it as before.

I’m sorry. I’m sure he will make new friends in 1st grade. It is a kind of scary not knowing anyone at the beginning of the year.

Thanks. I know he will. He knows all the kids btw, they were in the other kinder classes at school. Some were in his own class, they just weren’t really his friends. He’ll be with this group of kids for 6 years, so after the deck has been reshuffled, he’ll find new friends. His best friend and him just complemented each other in such a wonderfull way, both were such kind hearted gentle boys.

Hi ladies. I had a good weekend but I'm dreading this week because I work my other job too. Six 10 hr days does me in. I can't wait until it's over. I share my annoyance physically being in the office with some of you ladies. It's much more draining than working from home. My boss is really motivated to get tele-appointments going for the small part of our job we can't complete due to COVID, but he's still focusing on doing it in the office rather than at home. I'm so annoyed with him.

Hi!

I had a busy morning at work. M started camp today. He woke up by himself and busted in the room as I was getting ready to declare that he was ready for camp. MH said when he dropped him off there were only 3 other kids. I was glad for low numbers, but also worried that it wouldn’t be as fun for him either only a few people. Hope I get a good report this afternoon.

Not much else going on. Hoping to get some things done around the house little by little this week since I work the next 8 days straight. Today will be cleaning bathrooms I think.

Today. She claimed she couldnt get to the batteries. Uh, other people have keys to the office the batteries are kept in.

Obviously it's just easier to steal someone's. And not say anything to them...like, maybe they wont notice?

Yeah. These weeks do me in. Another reason  I would love permanent tele-working. It wouldn't be so bad to only physically go in 2 of those days. Not to mention COVID is spiking in our county. Last week we had more than double the amount of cases than we've ever had in a single week. But sure, let's all go back to the office. Way to go USA.

Took Cadence to the pet store. She picked her fish, then the worker said we could only get 2 types of fish for our 5 gallon tank. I gave her major side eye because she didn't even know how many we were getting. We could have just been getting 1 for all she knows. We got a molly and a neon tetra, but I'll probably take her to a different store to let her pick another one. Cadence named them Marco and Larry. 🤷

I mentioned yesterday my sister was getting tested for COVID after we saw her. Thankfully negative! We are pretty cautious to begin with but MH was feeling guilty about going into work tomorrow and we have been super cautious while on walks. We may be extreme but I don't mess with COVID and would feel like shit if we passed anything while knowing we may potentially be exposed.

We moved some things around today. Set up Josie‘s old trundle daybed in the sunroom because it has these great deep drawers that will be perfect for storing towels for the pool.
We put together a new bed for her and got it all situated . She has less room than she did before, but both kids spend very little time in their rooms.
I need art for the walls and potentially a rug.
Then we had a contractor over who told me I’d be wasting my time painting my cabinets bc the paint would have no longevity. So now I’m rethinking it all..

We have a mustard and blue betta named Colonel. He makes huge bubble nests and lays flat across his seashell decoration. He's a character, but obviously can't have any friends with him.

Cadence kept asking to foster kittens and we compromised with a fish tank of her own in her room. She loves these guys already.
