Finally Friday!

DH has today off, so he ran up to the hardware store and will be doing yard work this morning. I think this afternoon we're going out to look at TVs, and to get the 2nd mattress for C's twin beds (only had 1 in her last bedroom). The kids have haircut appts. late this afternoon.

We're planning on doing the beach early tomorrow morning to hopefully beat the crowds, so I need to start getting organized for that, too.

We're going to the Portland Rose Garden today for a picnic with my mom. It's absolutely beautiful there. I've never taken the girls there before and I think they'll love it.

ooh that sounds like a great day inthekitty. Back in VA the botanical garden had a huge rose area that was amazing this time of year. You'll have to share some pics if you take any.

Morning. I’m working from home and it is sooooooo slow. I really want to take the last few hours off, but I’m the only one working and we need to be reachable. Two more days and then vacation 🥳.

The kids are at my parents, Dh has his last day at school today and then he’s off for six weeks too.

Morning. Made French toast for breakfast and now we’re enjoying coffee on the porch while my niece tries magic tricks on Dh. The other kids are inside playing and L just went down for a nap. We’ll probably take the boat out when he wakes up before it gets too busy.

Morning, putting K down for a nap and we have a guy coming to give us an estimate on our back porch. It's a steamy one today, so maybe we will wash the cars as something different. The white car hasn't been driven in months and it is basically brown at this point.

Tonight I hope to watch Hamilton, hoping Disney+ doesn't crash!

Morning! B is back and camp and it's just me and S today. S has been staring at his tablet for hours so in a few minutes I'll take him outside and hopefully get some energy out.

No holiday weekend plans. The one family we've been hanging out with went on vacation to a friend's cabin today. It doesn't really feel like a holiday weekend anyway, to be honest.

I need to go get some groceries this morning. People are coming by again this evening for fireworks. We had 8 people over last night, I'm sure it will be similar tonight.

My dog hates fireworks. She was a mess last night. Our neighbor gave us something she uses, so hopefully it helps today as I'm sure things will be crazier.

And I need to remember to drink water between beers. I dont want to be hungover all weekend!

Dropped Cadence off at Camp, filled out the unemployment stuff, which then requires you make an account on this job website, so I did that too.
Now I'm just laying in bed watching yet another season of Alone. I'm pretty convinced I need to learn some survival skills and try out for this show.

We're landscaping. A just went to geg a load of topsoil and im putting MJ down for a nap. Then I need to bake my nephews smash cake.

My parents were here yesterday and C did not nap. We are at the beach now but he definitely needs to nap today. Gymnastics and hockey are opening Monday. They are getting all my money and all my kids.

Hi. I woke up at midnight so I could watch Hamilton without either kid interrupting. Guess what. I still got interrupted. C let me sleep in sort of. He’s off to work and it’s just the kids and I. Hopefully I can get both kids down for a nap so I can watch Hamilton again this time with cake instead of a beer.

Yesterday they did tie die at camp. He did a pillowcase that was white with black cat faces. It came home in a ziplock with the elastics still on it. I laid it out to dry on the porch but it’s flannel and wasn’t drying so I put it in the wash. It must not have ever been rinsed so the red caused all the white to be pink. He doesn’t know yet but he’s going to be pretty upset. I’m not sure how to remedy this.

Morning! TGIF is right, it's been a weird week with a couple days off randomly. It's gorgeous today, but I'm working and I'll kick the kids outside after lunch. After they go to bed I've got to mow the lawn cause of all the rain we had.

We're heading out to the summer lot tomorrow morning to stay for a night, it will be Julia's first night camping and she's excited. I also haven't been anywhere overnight outside the home in a very long time and some was due to Pete's seizure daily medication, Zoe will be fine with missing one dose. I'm looking forward to it.

I had ordered a ring made with Pete’s ashes and it came today. I love it so much.

I looked everywhere as well and found this place and I am thrilled with the whole process. It’s a Canadian shop but geographically it’s probably closer to you than me.

Hey. Late check in but nothing exciting happened today. Lots of baby snuggles and naps. It was super hot and humid so the girls pretty much stayed inside the whole day.

I really hope this photo op for the pres doesn’t burn down the black hills. I’m avoiding watching it on tv but the group I’m in on fb is updating on it. I did look at some of the videos of the crowd and I saw a very small amount of masks. Good for those people.

My nephews cake turned out really cute. But that took alot of my day so I didn't get nearly as much done as I wanted. We're having a small 4th of July party tomorrow so we have a lot to get done in a short span..

Rose Garden

We had a really nice time. Maddie made a friend, they climbed trees, ran all over the grassy amphitheater, enjoyed checking out the flowers, and had a nice visit with my mom.

The Rose Garden is one of my favorite places. I used to live about 15 minutes from there and I'd take the train to the zoo, hike the trails to the Rose Garden, and just relax for the afternoon. I'd move back to the Portland area in a heartbeat if not for my job.
