Anyone watching the reboot on Netflix? I’m only one episode in, but it’s pretty good. I loved/was terrified of the old one as a kid.

sudsy the old one (and it’s theme song) terrified me too! But I’m all in on this one. For some reason Netflix started me on episode 3, so I’ve watched 3 and 4, and then went back and am watching 1 now.

Let me know what you think of episode 1. I’m staying up to watch episode 2, which I will regret.

Let me know what you think of episode 1. I’m staying up to watch episode 2, which I will regret. I didn't like how they were saying there are signs when people are going to kill themselves because no, a lot of times there aren't. However, the fact his phone and glasses weren't broken got me the most. Plus a phone call and then just running out of the house? I'd like to know who owns or controls that building. They didn't talk about that. And immediately doing a gag order on all employees, to me, is basically admitting guilt.

I'm with greenolive , I think the company had something to do with it. Between the phone call that came from the office and them clamming up, there is something going on. I want to know what his friend knows. You don't go silent like he did unless you know something as well.

We just watched episode 1, and then I fell down the Reddit rabbit hole on that case. Some think the hole is a distraction, and he was just beaten and dumped in the building.

I loved the original series, it always freaked me out in the best way.
I’m on episode 6 now. Episode 4 (I think it’s 4) about Alonzo Brooks currently sitting with me the most. His mother just breaks my heart.
That damn theme music is haunting as shit too but I can’t stop!

Yes, the medical examiner was saying the fractures in his legs were the wrong direction if he had jumped. I think the company gave bad stock advice to the wrong person and they beat the shit out of him, thus killing him. I also don't think his rambling note taped to the back of the computer was a suicide note. Seemed more like just his ramblings he didn't want anyone to see.

Just finished episode 2. The husband is weird but I'm not convinced he had something to do with it.

I agree with all of this. The company definitely was the reason he died and the note was something else. Not a suicide note.

The Alonzo Brooks episode pissed me off. Like, who the fuck leaves their friend an hour away from home in a town they don’t know? Especially after some racist bullshit was being thrown around. I just saw him as their token black friend that they didn’t really care about.
His mother totally broke my heart. And the cops telling the family to basically leave them alone? That’s a whole lotta nope for me. If that was my kid, I’d be burning it down.

As a side note, this show isn’t the same without the cryptkeeper host.

Walking home from frat parties alone, thinking nothing bad could happen. The friend that left thought he had a ride home right? The police on the other hand...disguesting. he was right there!

I can’t decide if I think his body was moved to the creek or if the police just...didn’t bother. How do they have all those failed searches and then the family finds him within 30 minutes? It doesn’t make sense. I just finished episode 6 which also is heart wrenching.

I’m loving it but for some reason Netflix started us on episode 5 and I didn’t notice till I just read this thread. I can’t decide what to think about episode 2, the husband is a terrible human being but I’m not sure if he killed her. He probably did though, or at least paid for someone to do it.

But are they saying someone still creates the hole? That doesn't make sense to me either. Without the hole the body may not have been found for an even longer time so if you're wanting to hide a body it wouldn't make sense.

I just finished the Alonzo episode and damn that one was terrible. I really think the local sheriff knows what happened and helped cover it up and a lot of kids at that party know. I truly hope someone grew a conscience between then and now and comes forward with info.

I’m super excited this show is back on but I’ve only seen the first 3 episodes so far. I thought the guy is episode 1 was probably thrown from somewhere. I think episode 2, the woman just came across a bad person, likely the person who said he liked to hit salons around lunch time. That theme song still creeps me out!

We watched that episode last night. What an ASSHOLE, changing the locks the day after his wife goes missing? Pistol has NOTHING of his mother's? He's a piece of shit for sure.
