We're meeting up with my sister and nephew for lunch, then this afternoon I have a company coming out to measure for plantation shutters.

It's about a million degrees here this week but thankfully the Saharan dust cloud cleared out! #smallvictories

oh man, I need to call and make this appt. Also color. I looked at my temples last night and was kind of shocked-- So. many. new. grey. 35 has hit like a ton of bricks.

My h (37) is getting grey, I don’t mind (kind of like it even). But it is screaming ‘we’re not that young anymore!!!’

Morning ladies!

Our cleaning people just showed up. When they called to confirm yesterday, I made sure and told them we were self quarantined. They always wear a mask and gloves, so they said they would still come. Our house is a mess, I feel like the dogs are losing so much fur with the hot temps, so it will be nice to get that all cleaned up.

Last night wasn't too bad getting Evie to take her pill. I cut it into 4s and it took some tough love, I may have threatened that a shot was the only other option...but it worked. She said it didn't hurt this morning, although it's still swollen and she's limping, so I think she may just be telling me that, thinking she can get out of taking it this morning.

Just work for me today.

I ordered Evie some pop beads off Amazon. She spent all evening last night playing with them and is back at it this morning. Great money spent!

Although I am now wearing some questionable necklaces and headbands...

Same. I've had greys since I got hair. I used to have a patch, the size of a quarter on the side of my head. It went away in childhood. But I dont think I could stomach spending that much on my hair.. my mom has stopped covering her greys and is letting it go natural to see if she likes it. My grandma had beautiful shiny silver greys. She's hoping she gets it lol.

I have colored my hair consistently since HS, so I have no idea if I have grays. My natural color (I think) is like a mousy blonde, so they don't show up too bad, even when I go too long between colors. My stylist always tells me she doesn't see any, but my eyebrows would say otherwise. And plucking gray eyebrows seems to hurt way worse than normal.

I color my hair at home to cover the grays (that I started to get at 29) because I don’t want to pay $$$ to just dye my hair the same color it already is. I get my color at Sally’s and had the salesperson help me color match.

My sister is the same way.   Except I don't think she knows what her natural hair color is anymore.

I went from a few grey hairs to a billion about a year ago.  I was in need of coloring when this started, so now... it's not good.   But I'm not ready to do it yet.  I also think that's b/c I literally switched hair people right before the quarantine so I've only been 1 time and they did not do my color (it's been way too long, maybe a year or so since I got the color done).

This. I played with glints and sun-in all the way back in early high school and started getting highlights and lowlights and over all color really soon thereafter. I was auburn-y red for a long time and that required upkeep.
This is the longest I’ve gone without a professional dye, and I am relieved the box dye and the root cover up spray work so well. Bc the grays are strong!

I’ve coloured my hair since I was 12 I think? I’m naturally a salt/pepper blonde, although I have gotten much darker in the last few years. I’ve been black, purple, hot pink, fireman red, auburn, completely blonde in my teenage years (combined with fishnet tights, velvet long skirts, but also hippy blouses, a signature red lipstick and flowers in my hair... it was something 😂) but most of the time it was/is just blonde high lights, I made an appointment for a new technique for the end of August.

I have been finding more grays in the last year. They are spread out all over my head, b it they are there. Both my grandmas wore their white/platinum hair so it’s inevitable. I only get my hair colored about twice a year, so I don’t mind spending the money there. I would not be spending that every 6-8 weeks.

ETA: I don’t get the color for grays. I get it because it’s black and I am way too pale for that. I mostly get brown highlights, but I’ve been thinking about getting my whole head colored. One day maybe.

My hair has gotten so bad in the last year or so. It grows very fast too. I hate those little Gray's that are like 2 inches long and just stand straight up!

Twice a year?  I guess it's because I go quite a bit lighter than my natural color, but I hate the root growth.  I go about 6 weeks in the summer, 8 weeks in the winter when I darken it a little.  Anymore than that and it's bad.  And my hair doesn't grow that fast.

Update on my mom saga:

My mom confirmed that she's not comfortable with us in the house. Her doctor said she's high risk and no one outside of the house should be around her without a mask (duh, I already knew she was high risk, she was just in denial and projecting it on my brother). But I thought did you tell your doctor you still do daycare and just went to the casino where hardly anyone is wearing masks? And the family that would be visiting has been social distancing for months and your grandkids haven't been around any other kids since March? I didn't bother since this is one of those situations in which logic will not prevail. My sister, who is a non-mask wearer, challenged her about it and her response was she has to make a living (she had been planning to retire in the spring) and the kids had been going to her house since they were born practically (still irrelevant to risks during a pandemic).



So whatever. I'm meeting her for a socially distant picnic in Portland Friday. I'm leaving it up to her to come down from the ledge or not have us over until the pandemic ends. She and my stepdad watch the news constantly so I don't know how they can lack understanding about the whole thing so much.

I've never dyed my hair save for bleaching a few strips ala every 90s pop star during my senior year. I'm lazy about hair and only get it cut once a year or two. I could never stick with a regular dye routine. So once the grays come I'll let them take over.

ETA: But I would love funky colors like nam2013. I would love bright blue or teal. But since I can't for work I have fun coloring the girls' hair.
