OHHHHHHhhhh...so you're my mother? This sounds very much like her relationship with my grandma, down to the living across the street. I'm glad the favors are at least cute, but I'm very sorry she is crazy. Did it ever get better or are they still this way? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk Well...my parents moved so they don't see each other as much. But...um...

Omg laurensc927 what the heck to your MIL. I would say you are handling that very well.

laurensc927, that is so intense! If only she would pose all of her demands as questions, it could all be okay. "could I buy you a bedding set after the baby is born?" sounds so nice! But just doing stuff without even seeing if you want it is sooo annoying. The favour sounds cute, but I'd rather have a cookie.

AnnPerkins quinn librarylady the favors are not related to the theme, she ordered (a cute) egg timer that says about to hatch. My mom could care less she's still doing the cookies and will put the egg timers out on the tables too. I just fear this is my future, her constantly overstepping her bounds. FYI she's already talked about picking out the coming home outfit and buying a bedding set after baby is born since we're team green and she wants to get something more specific. She was talking about cleaning out the dresser drawers in her spare room because they are nice and roomy for baby stuff. I told her you realize the baby is going to live with us right lol. And to add another layer to this she lives across the street (hangs head in shame for agreeing to buy the house we did). So sorry she's being difficult. Maybe have your MIL's "favors" be put in a basket that your mom can put out for people to take on their way out. Allows your theme to be undisturbed, but she still gets to give out something (she could even be "in charge" of handing it out).

Morning! Music class and grocery shopping today. Exciting times. MH and I spent a good deal of time sorting baby clothes from DD last night and we didn't even finish. I'm so glad we are having another girl so I can reuse those clothes! Hoping to work on more nursery organization today.

I somehow made it into work today before my boss and my interns. But I'm not gonna complain because I'm sitting here drinking my coffee and dicking around on here lmao. My mom made homemade chocolate chip cookies and I brought some to share BUT everyone is late. And well, most people don't eat cookies for breakfast. I will totally eat them for breakfast!

I've talked about her before (Maybe on parenting) she told me she won't let her daughter watch the movie during lunchtime on Fridays at school because they show very inappropriate movies. You know, like The Little Mermaid. She even called the principal over it. ::eyeroll::

Here's a good one- ds3 has a severe peanut allergy. We was rushed to the ER after just touching some at 15mos. I told her we got him skin tested and his peanut allergy is severe but thank god he isn't allergic to anything else, like tree nuts or shellfish. She tells me her son (same age as ds3) is allergic to all nuts. She said "I took him to the allergist to be tested and nothing came back on the skin test. They won't do a blood test but I know he's allergic cause his face turned red once after eating an almond". She then proceeds to tell me that I should've eaten more peanut butter while pregnant with him (so his allergy is my fault) and that her daughter has an egg allergy because she didn't eat any eggs while pregnant with her. I asked if she was tested for that... obviously no. She just knows she's allergic to eggs because once her daughter said her throat was itchy after eating scrambled eggs.

quinn omg! I wonder if her kids face turned red because he was choking lol. Not funny but you know what I mean. At least you don't have to worry about her giving peanuts to ds3 Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Shit - DD clearly has an ear infection and two broken legs because this morning she told me that her ear hurt and that her legs hurt. I didn't pay her any mind (after making sure she wasn't hurt) but now I know I"m doing it wrong.

The local children's hospital called me while I was in the shower and didn't leave a message. I've spent the last hour going through all the reasons why they would possibly have called me like this. It is awful. I couldn't get a hold of my husband for half an hour so I was in full panic mode and called the hospital. They don't have DD in the ER and don't know why someone would have called me. They're assuming misdial.
But we can't get our DCP on the phone so I am still freaking out. Like I'm ready to drive over to day care just to make sure DD is okay.

Rationally, my DCP is probably busy with naptime and snack with five kids in her care and can't get to her phone right this second. The hospital would have left a message if DD was there. The hospital would not be calling me to tell me that my DCP is there with some other kid from day care. Everything is almost certainly fine.
Irrationally, I am in full freakout.
