I just finished collecting/scanning/submitting all of B's school registration paperwork. Phew! Our district requires everything short of your first born child to verify residency but at least it's all done now.

Hi!
Back to work this week. I just got the quote for the contractors part of the kitchen and woof. Little more than I thought. Let’s just say I’ll be working all of July, too. 😬 Don’t want it to come out of the savings if we can help it.
M’s friend just tried to call my phone, so I messaged his mom to see if they are here in town and they are so we are going to meet up at the park tomorrow evening so the boys can see each other. M will be so excited. He hasn’t been around peers for 4 months.

Evie's pediatrician called me. She talked to the rheumatologist we were referred to. They want her to try a prescription strength anti-inflammatory for a week, which would be the first course of action, when we are seen, so we are ahead of the game. They are thinking she has Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. I had to step away from google. Too many worst case scenarios.
Now I have to figure out how to get her to swallow pills. The liquid version of this stuff is like $600. We have a pill cutter, so I'll try to make it as small as possible and hopefully convince her that it will make her feel better.

mwhip pfff that’s a lot... it is possible to crush them and mix it in a table spoon of oj? ETA or suck it in a syringe, that’s what works with ds.

Do you know if the pills are a short term solution or will it make it go away? Maybe mixed in Yogurt or applesauce will help.

There are 6 different types of JIA, I think there will be more testing done to determine which type she has then determine long term action. I'm supposed to let her pediatrician know how shes doing next Monday.

Has she tried to swallow pills before? It might be no big deal for her. Maybe you could tell her the liquid tastes horrible but you found this great pill that does the same thing! Sell it to her.

That sounds like a lot of info mwhip, I’m sorry she’s still in pain. FX the pills help and there’s a clear diagnosis and path to feeling better in the near future.

mwhip I hope you get more answers soon and can clarify what it all means with the doctor. As far as meds go we wrap pills in cheese for the kids just like we do for cats. It works.

mwhip...I’m sorry she is still having trouble and that you don’t have a clear answer yet. But I’m a pro at meds at this point (Sierra currently takes 19 pills a day). I suggest crushing and putting with applesauce or pudding. Or you can cut them in half and wrap in a fruit roll up. (This is our current method).

I submitted a request through the Make a Wish foundation for Sierra and got a letter today that she had been approved to be granted a wish! We want to get her a Seizure alert dog but they are sooooo expensive (think $20,000 +). But they want us to have 2 wishes prepared in case they can’t grant the first choice. I am clueless what to ask for the 2nd choice. I wish she could tell me what she wanted!

We worked in the yard all afternoon. I cleaned a section of the garden beds and mh chopped down a lilac tree. It’s a tiny dent but I’m feeling good about this.

mwhip, one of my jobs at work is to help with pill swollowing. As others suggested, obviously mixing in yogurt, ice cream, ect can be helpful! Another thing you can do is work up to the size of her pill. So start with a tiny sprinkle and work up in size (larger sprinkles, nerds, mini m&M's, ect.). ETA: and I'm so sorry you guys are dealing with this!

mwhip I'm sorry you are still dealing with this😔 I have no suggestions but recall being 9 and trying to take giant malaria pills before a trip to Guatemala and it clearly scarred me for life. All the others tips seem promising though! lfig I second a play structure of sorts? Well deserved! I saw someone I follow had a playhouse that looked like the house in Up for their wish.

I was outside doing more yard work and I went to the backyard to grab something out of the outdoor storage bins when I saw a snake’s tail going under the bin. MH came and killed it, but I need to light the ditch in the back of the fence on fire now! Next Lowe’s trip will be to get something to fill the gaps under the fence.

L was melting down while I was trying to get dinner ready so I put him in his bed. Sometimes he just rolls around and babbles for a bit like he just needs quiet time. He fell asleep at 5:45 (normal bedtime is 7:30-8) I debated waking him up or letting in sleep. I decided to take my chances and let him sleep, and then he woke up at 7:15. So now my dreams of getting the kids to bed early for my own quiet time are crushed. Hopefully I can at east get him down by 9.
