The extra kids had to be dropped off early, their dogs got in a fight and he had to take one to the vet before going into work. I'm normally dressed and look presentable when they get here but its an 80% chance of rain all day. I think I'll just stay in comfy clothes since I won't be taking them outside.
Whats everyone up to?

Morning!
Just more organizing, etc. today. I really need to tackle my dining room and file our claim with the movers -- we were doing so great and then in the very last box I unpacked, two lamps were destroyed, plus I found some damage on my china cabinet and a chair. Sigh.
We got the estimate back from the carpenter about doors and built-ins and I lived to tell about it! I think doing the doors this way will be more reasonable than going through a 'door store' where you're paying a mark up on everything. That quote was...a lot.

flamingo ugh I’m sorry! Hope the lamps weren’t something you where attached to! They were I actually cried, lol. I'm ok now but it took a few days. We'll get reimbursed (thankfully, b/c these were expensive...bought in our DINK days, ha). DH keeps telling me there are more beautiful lamps out there just waiting for a new home (LOL). Poor guy, I think the tears threw him a bit!

Morning. My kid finally discovered lego! So I went on a little shopping spree with Dh, lego atlas book (has animal models), stone set with lots of eyes and a blue and green base plate. I also got my nephews some little things for their vacation (I do this every year, combined with a bag of sweets), bought a kite as a birthday present for ds’ friend. Long live the interweb...
I need some maternity pants... I kind of hate pants, they always make me feel so restricted, but they’re handy especially with this in between weather. I really want some that are really really stretchy, but can be worn to work.

Morning. We are doing newborn pics outside this afternoon, it’s supposed to be 91 with 80% humidity...so it’s gonna suck. There’s supposed to be a breeze and we will be in the shade at least. Other than that most of the day will be spent getting ready in one way or another. Sorry about the damage flamingo. I hope you can find a replacement that you love just as much.

I'm at the office. Just dropped Cadence off at her ymca camp. Fingers crossed she will enjoy it. She was bitching about going and I told her she would have more fun at camp than sitting home all day. She said this was going to be the most boringest camp ever because the theme is space and she doesn't like space. IT'S ONE WEEK!!! Deal.
We have a staff meeting at noon. So we'll see if there are any good updates.

Morning. Day 82748 of L being super cranky. I might try to get him in to the chiropractor to see if that helps at all. Dh just left on a “work” trip for 2 nights. And by that, he golfs today and tomorrow and has meetings in there somewhere... I’m a little frustrated because N’s dance recital was rescheduled for tomorrow evening and he’s going to miss it. He could skip the last round of golf and come home early but he’s not. In his defense, we didn’t have any details on the recital until about 10 days ago, so I guess he’ll have to watch the video later. One good thing about the recital being rescheduled is that instead of two days of the same recital, they split it in half and are doing one group today and one tomorrow (outside at a park) So it should only be 2 hours instead of 4 and N’s two dances are within the first 15 songs, so it shouldn’t be too bad.

I had to search high and low for a shirt for A that wasn't long sleeves, so today is definitely laundry day!

slenle, I'm jealous that y'all still get to have your recital. I was really looking forward to Cadence's dances this year.

Southern girls (maybe I’m stereotyping here...), how do you make a good sweet tea, without artificial sweeteners (I hate the taste of them) or 5lbs of sugar!

It was supposed to be the middle of May and they didn’t make a final call until a couple of weeks ago. She has the cutest costume, I wouldn’t been bummed if she couldn’t perform. I’m curious to see what effect two months of virtual dance classes will have. Could be interesting...

The 3 boys are down stairs playing. Girls are playing with the peppa pig doll house. The boy hates cleaning up and I really don't want to be the mean sitter, but he just skips from thing to thing and leaves a trail of toys and mess. And the girl keeps intentionally locking MJ out of rooms because she's very jealous. Its going to be a long day....

Southern girls (maybe I’m stereotyping here...), how do you make a good sweet tea, without artificial sweeteners (I hate the taste of them) or 5lbs of sugar! Only 4 lbs of sugar! Ha, kidding slightly. So I use (Lipton brand) black tea bags, and in a pot on the stove steep in about an inch of water until boiling. Remove bags. Then I do about 1/4 cup sugar for every 2 tea bags. Then add warm water to the pot (so if you need to add more sugar it will still dissolve). Taste, then add water/sugar as needed. (I eyeball this part based on years of practice but tea package could probably give guidelines). Admittedly we like our tea sweet! Serve over ice.

I used to love sweet tea at restaurants...and then I worked at one and saw how they make it. Sooooooo much sugar. Now I don't drink tea with any sweetener. Can I still be considered a southerner or has my card been revoked?

I'm at work. I dropped H off at daycare and asked if they were going back to regular hours on Wednesday, since it will be July 1. The receptionist told me she didn't know and they were playing it by ear. I reminded her that the last email I received said they'd be going back to regular hours in July and she said the director just arrived and they hadn't discussed it yet. Well, I'm going to need to let my work know ASAP.
They did this to me last month, too. How can M's camp (at the same church) be open 7-6 and y'all can only be open 9-4 still?

Very frustrating tgrimes. (Newsflash, folks, it’s the 29th. )I get that this whole situation is unprecedented but people still need to be able to make plans.

Last month they said they'd continue the 9-4 hours because of limited enrollment. They're attendance has definitely grown since then because of more people going back to work though so I don't see how they can still use that excuse. Especially when I'm still paying full price for less hours.

Morning ladies! E stayed the night with MIL last night so I was able to go for a walk this morning. Got back and realized I had a stupid conference call 2 minutes after I got back. I'm pretty sure the company that bought us just likes to have conference calls and make up things to do.
Nothing much planned today, just work, I need to clean up the kitchen a bit.

My MIL gets their extra sweet kind and I just cannot.

I had the idle hope I could recreate this at home .

The director of the daycare called to tell me they will be opening normal hours beginning Wednesday. Her reasoning for not wanting was to keep the class sizes smaller and keep the kids in the same class with the same teacher. If they open up normal hours, they obviously can't do that. She knows the working parents need childcare though so she will resume normal hours.
Then she tells me that a parent left a message that they will be quarantining the family for 2 weeks because the grandparents tested positive. She's going to call them to see exactly how recently they had contact with them and to get more details. I have no idea if she can require the kids get tested or not and by the sound of it, I don't think she knows either.

At least here I do have a guy who I trust to repair it well.

Change of plans. The photographer messaged me and said that tomorrow will be better weather wise so no pics today. I’m ok with that. It’s frustrating that she is waiting till the last minute to make a decision tgrimes. I’m glad things will go back to normal soon.
