oh ewww peachsmama Well hopefully your visit was ok and not too awkward It wasn't bad. She looks like a completely different person and is barely hanging on between her ongoing battle with ppd and now this. She opened up a little. I tried not to pry or directly ask unless she brought it up. Which she did a few times. But she desperately needs some time away so we texted our little friend mom group right then and got it on the calendar for the first week in July. She seemed to perk up a bit about that. We're doing margaritas and Mexican take out at one of our houses.

Happy hump day!
Not much here. My 11yo niece is spending the week with my parents so she is here for a bit today. She’s the sweetest and loves babies so she’s been entertaining all 3 kids all day. I even left her with them for 20 minutes while I ran a quick errand. She’s so mature and her mom does in home daycare where my niece practically runs the show. Lol. I wish she lived closer!
Dh and I came up with a plan to refresh our patio. We were going to put up a sunshade and string lights but we tested out the placement last night, and it wouldn’t provide shade to our table in the early evening when we need it most. Boo. So back to the drawing board. We might have better luck getting a big tree planted to provide more shade eventually.

That’s amazing tgrimes. Gotta love people’s ingenuity. Also I am LOL at the lower trump flag; in my granddad’s ‘man cave’ he had a poster of Ronald Reagan’s head on Sylvester Stallone’s bare-chested, machine gun-laden body: “RONBO” (instead of Rambo 😂) Good memories!

Move is ongoing. No damage uncovered so far, so that’s good! I think my wine glasses mated and reproduced while In storage, though—I don’t recall having this many 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
So basically everything was loaded into 8? 10? wooden crates since it had to go into storage. So the truck can only fit 2-4 crates at a time and is making multiple runs. So we have a flurry of activity unloading the crates, then we come to a standstill. Rinse and repeat. DH and I are trying to unpack as much as we can just to get rid of boxes and paper.
I got C from camp and grabbed B early so I wouldn’t have to drive all the way back to my parents’ neighborhood at 4. They’ve been jumping on the trampoline and are currently playing ‘house’ in my bathroom.

My niece just left and N is already bored and H “needs” super glue to fix something. Uh, no. Trying to shove them outside to play but it’s not working.

Not exactly what I wanted, but I couldn’t beat the price, so it will do for now. Since you are in your forever home, just buy what you like so you can enjoy it for years to come.

I found the perfect set used. Its a $2,000 set and it was $500. In perfect shape and the color cushionsi wanted. And while A was debating, it sold. Now I can't find anything that compares.. I'm not saying I'm bitter but......

Hi.
Work today was okay. Just two more days until the weekend. I have a to do list after work and will let MH take the boys to swim so I can get some stuff done at home. I also need to think about what I will make for dinner.
I am thinking about making an overnight trip to Memphis for M2’s birthday. We would leave early one day have all day that day and the next to do a few things- mostly the zoo and an outdoor park with activities and adventures. There is a chance of rain now, so I will wait until the weekend to decide if the weather will cooperate. I’m just getting excited to be going SOMEWHERE to do fun things.

We met T’s friends at the park to ride bikes last night. All of the sudden, I see C’s little bike and no C. He busted open the caution tape and was playing on the playground. The other kids were freaking out that he was going to get the virus. Luckily he can right out when I called him.
I went to Kohl’s today. It’s not my favorite store ever but I was desperate for shorts and bathing suits for DD and sneakers for DS1. Target has been cleaned out since it was the only place in town you could buy clothes for so long.
2 more days of work but my grades were due today so not much going on.

Glad you are almost done kim22 , I hope you will have a relaxing summer and can recharge. lahdeedah Memphis sounds like a fun getaway, I've only been once but really enjoyed it! Were you thinking about doing the Mississippi River model on Mud Island? I loved that as a 20-something, I can imagine kids might think it's pretty cool.

Hi. Long day here but we made good progress. Our crew was great...it was the first time we've ever had a woman crew-chief, and she was awesome!
DH got the vast majority of boxes emptied and I got all kitchen stuff unpacked and mostly put away (need to wash a lot of it but I'll get there). The movers got all the furniture reassembled. Seeing the house with our stuff in it makes me even more glad this is the one we ended up in--everything just works.
We came back to my parents' (the plan is to officially move in Fri or Sat) and are currently eating a very late dinner of Thai takeout and watching The Money Pit--hopefully this is not foreshadowing.

The other park seemed to have more to do for the kids. We may go for a few more days next month, so we’ll have more time to explore. ETA: glad you got a lot of stuff done today. That is nice that you have a few days to unpack and get everything set up before “moving in”. I would have liked that- especially if I had a place to send the kids during the day. Glad your things fit in with the house, too.!
