I'm so proud of Maddie. She rocked her placement test for the high capacity program.

Thanks, y’all! I’m excited and relieved. I think we are in a really good spot. trtlcrzy cheers for having an end-date! That makes the last few days a bit easier IMO. Eta: lahdeedah tell me about using borax on your outdoor cushions. B/n the kids and the dog, ours need a good cleaning and/or replacement. Do you make a paste with it, then scrub and hose off?

Oh and I found Dickens yesterday. It's easy to get lost in the chaos that is our house right now. wedding have you ever seen a cat with horned paw? The nail of his extra toes on the front paws curve weird already, but then he has a 2nd claw next to those that are hard and curve the opposite direction. He yells if I touch them. I try to trim them down, but he hates it. On his deformed paw all of his claws grow inward toward the pads so I have to be extra diligent at trimming that paw because they cut into the pad. I have. It's one of the few cases that I would consider removing a nail.

I am tired and cranky and solo parenting while trying to work is just not going well today. He refuses to go outside and wants me to play with him non stop. He won't even color without asking me to help. I know he just wants me for some reason but I actually had pressing things to do today and I am not feeling up to playing and chatting about wrestlers. I cannot wait for camp to start next week. I feel bad that he is bored and I either can't or don't want to play.

I just FaceTimed the girls, H is sad and asked to come home today. I feel bad and would go get them but I don’t feel comfortable driving that far away when I’m this far along. It would be a 6 hour round trip if I went all the way there, 3 if we met halfway. I think she’ll be ok till tomorrow. S, on the other hand, just wanted to tell me all about my sister’s pets and show me around the house.

inthekitty, congratulations to Maddie. Does this mean she will be changing schools in the fall? She made it to the second stage of testing which is Thursday. I'm fairly certain we'll keep her at her school next year and she can do the modified program there. With 'Rona I'm expecting next school year to be a total cluster and I'd like to minimize changes. Our district sent out a 58 page task force plan but it basically says school can't operate like normal, here's a bunch of proposals, and here's cleaning guidelines. So I'm anticipating at least some distance learning, or periods of DL if there's an outbreak. I'm really grateful that overall her learning has had minimal negative impact from Rona.

trtlcrzy I'm sorry she's having a tough time. I think you made the right call about not going though because no one wants a car baby. Luckily she has S and is probably doing okay most the time. Cass always used to get more emotional when she'd talk to me when I'm away, but I'd get reports that she's fine the majority of the time.

Thank goodness the teachers are going easy on us this last week. Cass mostly just has a fun "What I learned" packet to do throughout the week and she enjoys it. Light assignments for M and also a memory packet for W and R. 🙏🙏

Congratulations on the house flamingo ! trtlcrzy that's great! So when the girls come back, what is the plan for when you are in the hospital? Will your H stay with you? I know around here the partner can't leave once they come in. You have someone set to stat with the girls? Congrats to M inthekitty !

Just finishing up work for the day right away here and it looks like it's going to storm so i am glad that I took the kids out for a bike ride in the afternoon. Julia has been going the last couple days on her own without me pulling/pushing her to get started so we come back today and she instructs me to take off the training wheels, I do, she goes for a ride around the crescent and then says, 'well i tried it but you can put them back on now'...what a girl.....
B came home around dinner time yesterday from the summer house and he was exhausted, they played a few rounds of 9 holes between Sat/Sun and although he has a blast, it's a lot for a 6yo.

inthekitty, it took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out what w and R stands for. I tried war and remembrance and then the letters w and r.

I’m not sure if they will stay at our house or their camper. Dh will stay with me the whole time. My hospital encourages the support person to not leave but allows them to come and go if necessary. I also didn’t mention that if I do end up with the induction then I have to go get tested for covid on Friday.

It’s official! The house is ours (and the bank’s 😬). wineallthetime lahdeedah do y’all have Newks where you are? Their club sandwich has honey mustard on it and it’s delicious. I was never a HM fan until I had that. I've never heard of Newks! And huge congratulations on the house!

I’m sure MH has had that HM because he asks for it at every restaurant.

flamingo Also congrats on the house!! Long time coming, but you made it!! Re: cushions I googled how to clean them and the first thing that came up was an HGTV video. I’ll link it. It says you can use a pressure washer, too like @wine suggested. I have a pressure washer, but it’s will probably be easier to just scrub. It’s just some new toss pillows that has spots from the boys sticky fingers. I found the borax at Walmart. I always see it at Target, and the one time I go to buy it there it was sold out. I’m about to clean them now so I’ll tell you how it turns out.

Sweet baby Jesus. MH has been the main shopper since Covid. Maddie gave him a list of materials for an optional science project. I could have got what she needed for less than $10. He spent over $50. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️😤😩

flamingo, so exciting for you! Do you have a moving day ritual? Pizza in an empty house? Champagne or margs? Haha! With as many times as we’ve moved, you’d think we would. But no...tonight we did food trucks with my sister/her family in my parents’ neighborhood, and now we’re taking the kids for their first visit INSIDE the house. I haven’t told B but the sellers left the slack line obstacle course thingy behind—apparently it was popular with the neighborhood kids so they didn’t want to take it. He is going to be SO excited. They also left their garage fridge...Initially they wanted to take it but I guess decided against it. I am super pumped about that, lol.

Of course I’m also the kid that hated sleep-away camp as a middle schooler and wrote letters almost daily for the first week begging my parents to come get me 😂 Hope you guys have a happy reunion tmrw trtlcrzy!
