So I may be out of a job soon. I think the office may be going under. Or at least that is what some co-workers and I have gathered from the limited information they have given us. We're guessing maybe at the end of summer, if not sooner. We have an office meeting Monday, so I guess I'll know for sure then. Idk why they can't just tell us now. Why wait? Shit, I’m sorry. Why do y’all think it’s going under? I hate the waiting game. Just freaking tell everyone now!

Which only leaves our old real estate attorney bringing in money. It's not enough. They made a huge mistake when they started focusing on o&g, they should have stuck with a more diverse group if attorneys, including family and probate law or just anything else! They want me to clear all the files out of storage, which is the biggest red flag.

klong11 I’m sorry. Are they maybe afraid if they tell you too soon, everyone will leave? wedding I’m still shocked at how much time your C has on Zoom. All T’s meets are just social time. The other day he disconnected by accident after 50 minutes and I told him the computer broke because I could not listen to 17 kindergarteners interrupt each other for another second.

kim22 probably. If they tell me on Monday I'm out of a job, then I probably won't be clearing out storage for them. Which is why I think it will be at the end of summer. They want the storage cleared out by August 5th.

Shit klong11. I'm sorry. Can you apply for unemployment? Waiting sucks. wedding so ridiculous. I'd be dying after 75 minutes of Zoom. That's insane. And like kim22 said the Zoom for the girls is just social, not lecture. That's overkill. I don't blame you for doing his assignments for him. Can he play with playdoh or Silly Putty or something to keep him more engaged? (Especially if it's not in view of the camera.)

Just catching up... Ugh to 75 min. of zoom wedding . I'd be climbing the walls by the end of that, can't imagine how a kid feels! We skipped B's 2 lessons yesterday and paid for it today, we had to do 4 total plus his weekly zoom meeting. We were both over it. We have next week and then assignments are done, IDK what they plan to do the last week of school. Can't we just call it? I'm sorry klong11, you're smart to pay attention and think ahead. I remember when I lost my job during the early days of the recession, in hindsight there were a lot of red flags I missed just being young/inexperienced. There were no jobs in my field so it wouldn't have really mattered, except I wouldn't have been so blindsided I guess?

Today Cadence's school lesson was to do a virtual tour of Disney World and then do 4 subtraction problems. 4. I made her do more, of course. I gave her some subtraction dot to dots (the dots were the answers to the subtraction problems) and then a reading comprehension page on feelings. So not much, but more than 4 freaking problems!

Snacking on apple cinnamon donuts we made today and watching America's Got Talent. Apparently our former TKD instructor is on this year.

klong11 I'm sorry about the stress of wondering you are dealing with. I hope you get good news Monday. flamingo I totally slacked off the school work the last week or so, didn't even bother with the last days work. If they were really in school, they wouldn't have done much anyway. wedding hell no to 75 minutes on zoom. I couldn't handle it as an adult, I don't know any 6 year old that could.

He is listening when he does these other things so it’s ridiculous.

That sucks so much @klongoria. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise though and you find something you love. Or at least without that c word of an office manager and Smokey the secretary.

Doesn't understand normal developmental abilities or learning strategies. I require something like that to pay attention. She makes me angry. I'm sorry you and C have to deal with her.

It’s funny because other parents love her and my neighbor said we were so lucky to have her because she’s the best. I think she is just trying to fit a square peg in a round hole with C. I’m hoping next years teacher is a better fit.

I also hope C has a more understanding and compassionate teacher who realizes kids are individuals and you need to be flexible.

I loved Matthew's teacher but some of the other moms had issues. And I had heard bad things about her beforehand and went in thinking I wouldn't like her, and then we hit it off great.

A good friends kiddo has S’s teacher last year and didn’t like her at all. We loved her and didn’t have any of the issues our friend had.

While I definitely agree that some teachers and students are not the best match, that doesn't seem to be the case with wedding's C. It's during a time of a pandemic and she's been told a student is struggling with what is clearly inappropriate teaching methods (75 minutes of Zoom instruction is not even close to what should be expected of a 6 yo amongst other issues wedding has mentioned with the hefty workload, and shows a clear lack of knowledge about developmental expectations) yet she refuses to adjust her methods or allow for appropriate ways to manage attention like doodling. She may be fine for teaching kids who love to please, or love schoolwork, i.e. easy students, but has demonstrated she lacks compassion for what families are dealing with now trying to work from home and teach and has totally unrealistic expectations.
