It's on the list for acquisitions. But I haven't gotten it yet.

I had to run to Target this morning and buy it. I’m so excited!

Ok I stayed up until 1:30 in the morning finishing it. I really like her writing style. I really hate the name Coriolanus. I can’t believe the version of Katniss’s HG is actually a more humane treatment of the tributes...if you can even call it that.
I thought Lucy Gray was going to end up being a relative of Katniss.
I like that Snow was really the only recognizable characters from the first series. You had recognizable family names otherwise but that was it. Unless I didn’t catch something.
Dr. Gaul is someone is could see the Trump admin hiring 😬 Just an absolute monster with no regard for human life

I really enjoyed getting backstory of what the early days of the Games were like. I did think Snow’s transformation into a bad dude at the end happened way too quickly and didn’t make much sense.

It was definitely unnerving to see him dive headfirst into paranoia. Hi, I finished it tonight!

I’m resurrecting this because I just finished it.
So I assume that Katniss is related to Covey somehow. Maybe Maude Ivory was her grandma or something.
I agree that the end felt rushed. It was weird how the games and the District 12 part felt like 2 different books.
I want to read about the destruction of his and Tigris’ relationship.
I do like that the author made a lot of tie-ins for why Snow hated Katniss from jump, even outside sparking a rebellion.

I kind of wonder if she was going to try to turn it into a trilogy or sequel on its own, but then decided against it and that’s why the ending abruptly ended.

I would have definitely read more about Snow’s journey to president. I found him a compelling character. I have read that Lionsgate is already planning a movie. So now I’m trying to cast everyone. A young Snow? Timothy Chamalet? I feel like he can do charming but also cunning. Lucy Gray... maybe Kiernan Shipka?

I kept picturing this girl in my head when reading, even though she's not an actress.

I just feel she has that ability to look innocent but then be really calculating on the inside. I was thinking Zendaya for Tigris. And Glenn Close for Dr Gaul.

The end felt so abrupt. I was listening to the audiobook and had to go back to see if I zoned out during some big event....not really...just a sudden shift.
I really enjoyed it - I liked all of the nods to the other books.
Love Zendaya for Tigris

This has inspired me to reread the original trilogy. It amazes me how much is packed into these fairly short books. I'm more than halfway through, thinking "How does the rest of this story get told before the end?!", but it does!
It also reminds me how much I hate the movie versions.

I love them all so much. I also basically hate all movies after I love the books.
