It's a Long Weekend

Hi ladies. Not much happened here. L did schoolwork and so did I. We both have schoolwork to do tomorrow as well. He has an art project todo and I have 2/3 of my paper to finish. We also did a curbside (sort of) order from Home Depot. If I finish my homework early enough I plan to wash down our fence with a cleaner we picked up today. I also will be getting up early to run tomorrow. Fingers crossed crazy man isn’t on the pathway to the police academy this time.

We were outside literally all afternoon. The sun came out and it was so nice out. Our friends rented a bounce house with a slide and they put the hose on so the kids were having so much fun. At one point S slipped in a muddy spot and her entire front was covered, including her hair. When we got home I gave her a bath and now everyone is in bed. They were up past their bedtime and H was way overtired. She got mad at me because I started to take her pony tail out and told me that she hates me and wishes she had a different mom. She also said that I don’t care about her. She eventually calmed down and apologized to me. I’m probably going to sleep pretty soon. I am working for someone tomorrow but the later shift so I plan to sleep in and have a lazy morning.

We went on a ~6.5 mile hike. So longer than we originally planned. It was beautiful though. In the Olympics which are just gorgeous. Some of the areas reminded me of where the trolls might live in Frozen. 😆 The kids (and husband) were mostly troopers but they bitched they won't go again. Fine. Doggo and I will hit the trails.

MH was channel surfing and M saw a football game. He was so happy to see football then he said, “No fair! How come they don’t have the corona? How come they can play football?” He was not happy thinking that sports were happening without him.

Just a quick check in for me. Crazy busy weekend at work. Including assisting on a missing persons investigation that’s not looking like it’s going to have a good outcome. I hiked all over the woods looking for a body. I’m sore as can be because it was pretty rough terrain. Cut up from briars. And just exhausted. But MH has been working round the clock and barely ate or slept in 3 days working this case so I don’t want to complain to him!

Hi. I didn’t go for a run this morning. I didn’t sleep great and when I woke up for the run and started stretching my back was hurting pretty bad. I’ll try again on Tuesday. I’m waiting for my target order to arrive and sent out the invitation to my family’s for E’s party.

I have a paper to write today during nap time that’s due tonight. I’m hoping for a peaceful nap time today.

Our weather is bad today and tomorrow at the beach but home is supposed to be nice. C is napping and we are cleaning up and we will head home when he gets up.

Oh, also, it the middle of this we found out that a close friend died suddenly yesterday. My heart is breaking for her husband who is like a father to -MH.

MH is in a mood. He gave up sugar on Monday, but I don’t know if it’s related bc he’s been fine all week.
I’m keeping busy by attempting to garden while he plays with the kids outside. The gnats are so bad today!

So...I am not a hairdresser. I got a wild hair last night to trim S’s hair after her bath and it is not even close to straight and I took off way more than I intended too. I think this is my first and last haircut. I’m going to attempt to get it at least a little closer to straight today and then not touch it again with scissors. I got to sleep in and relax this morning which was great. I have to leave in an hour to go to work so I don’t plan on doing much in the meantime.

Hi! I didn’t sleep well last night. Not sure why, but I did sleep in some. MH got the blow up water slide out for the boys. I need to start cutting in to finish painting. I really wanted to hire someone to do the living area, but between the kitchen and floor, I’m already breaking the bank. It’s not that I can’t do it it’s just I don’t want, too. I will hire someone to do the cabinets, fireplace and crown molding, so I’m just trying to save myself a few hundred bucks.

Thanks everybody! we made it safe and sound with sanity (mostly) intact 🤪 around 3. Thankfully my parents had wine waiting.

Kids are wound up so trying to get them down now.

It’s good to be home and know I don’t have to make that trip again anytime soon!

Work today was not bad. I had a few patients and chatted with a new guest services person I haven’t worked with before. My RBF must not work when I’ve got a mask on because she told me her whole life story, in detail. It’s ok, though it made time go by quickly. I ran out of my nexium yesterday so I didn’t take it last night...and I have many regrets. My reflux has been so bad today so I just sent DH out to get me some Pepcid so that I can go to sleep sometime soon. I’ve been yawning since like 3 so I am definitely ready to go to bed.
