Good morning!! Starting Monday or maybe Sunday I’m going to go for a run every other Morning. I need to get more active and maybe that will help me feel better. I think Mondays and Wednesdays C will take the kids for a walk.
Yesterday we adopted some caterpillars from the children’s museum. Hoping this keeps L interested since they just learned the life cycle.
My boss took the day off. So I’m hoping to get a ton of work done because she won’t call me to do other things.

Not much else on the agenda today. Ds had school, my mom took Dd for a couple of hours for the first time in weeks, it was a godsend since we’re both swamped in work. My back hurts from working for hours on a crappy chair. Risotto on the menu tonight, nice.

Morning and happy Friday ladies! Just work. Nothing fun on the agenda. I think I'll see if my mom wants to take E today so I can get a work out in.

We had storms last night, nothing crazy, but there was lightning and thunder, so I wasn't surprised when Evie came to our room.
What did surprise me, is finding her backpack on the floor by my bed, along with 1 rainboot on my nightstand. No idea what she had planned, but she says she doesn't remember bringing them in.

Hi ladies. So glad it's Friday. I've been on top of it with work this week so hopefully I'll finish early.
Seeing if week 4 is our lucky week and Cass' teacher can figure out how to get a Zoom meeting going. However, even if she does she never emailed parents about a meeting time yesterday so I bet we'd be the only ones there. 🙄

Morning. I’m hoping the kids are listening better today. MIL said she’d watch them for a few hours this afternoon and I’m so excited for the break. I have plans to just lay around in the quiet. For now the girls seem to be playing together nicely, but we’ll see how long it actually lasts.

Morning and TGIF!
Phase 1 starts here today, woohoo! DH and B just went for haircuts.
It’s warm here today, finally. We are having B’s best bud and his sister (and their mom) over to swim after lunch. The kids are so excited, and I’m glad B will get to have sone time with his friend before the move. C asked for a ham sandwich at 8:30 and after eating it, said “ok I had my lunch, NOW is it time for A & S to come?” 😂

Sheesh inthekitty ! Does the district/school not train them on this stuff? If I can figure out a zoom meeting, I'm pretty sure anyone can. Well, except my mother.

Yesterday my MIL helped M with her entire dino project. Bless her. Now I love her even more, if that was possible. We're going to ride our bikes to a friend's house in a bit to pick up an Apatosaurus for her diorama. M refused to pick a meat eating dinosaur and we don't have any Apatosaurus toys.

Sheesh inthekitty ! Does the district/school not train them on this stuff? I have no idea. But I do know they have a tech support person and that Maddie's teacher who is also older was able to figure it out. It's frustrating because it's one of the main social outlets Cass could be getting now (which she needs more than academics at this point) and she's missing out. Every Friday Maddie has a reward/game Google Meets for completing classwork and then a small reading group Meet. She loves it. Cass had one 1 on 1 meeting with her teacher weeks ago in which the sound didn't work (pretty sure her teacher had the mike muted) and nothing since then. The teacher made it sound like other people were at these meetings so maybe it was a problem on our end. But nope, because she later emailed that the password she had listed for the Zoom meeting was incorrect. So obviously no one was getting in. She also doesn't communicate in a clear fashion when these meetings are scheduled (last week I just happened to notice it was a 1/2 hr later than the week before because I saw it mentioned in an odd spot in Google classrooms). Google Meets is easier for that matter (just click, no passwords needed). I have a lot of empathy for teachers now, but in this case, she's older with no kids at home to look after, and formal DL didn't start until several weeks after school was released so she's had time to figure some of this out. She should have plenty of time to test out the tech prior to the meeting to ensure it works. I would think she could call her teacher friends and test it with them.

inthekitty That's incredibly frustrating. Like you said, there's been plenty of time to figure out the kinks.

Oh for sure, I just figured worst case--if she was completely un tech-savvy--the school/district would be helping out. I know ours have had trainings for teachers on Mondays of the technology/programs they've rolled out (hence why we are not in school on Mondays now). inthekitty yeah, hate to say it but sounds like laziness on the teacher's part. B's teacher is also older (50s?) with grown kids but it's been a pretty seamless transition, and she's producing videos, etc. Any glitches or oversights, she fixed quickly. eta: when B's teacher dropped by we were talking about the whole distance learning thing, etc. She said the first couple weeks it was like drinking from a firehose, b/n creating 'content' and all the new info and programs being thrown at them, but now that they're in a groove it's much easier and she has 'time to breathe', as she said.

This might be the most quarantine thing I’ve ever done, but I’ve scoured about 12 or 15 BuzzFeed list for cleaning products that will “amaze you!” and placed a really big Amazon order for a whole bunch of different wood and stainless steel and granite products. I haven’t been happy with the way anything I typically use cleans here so I’m hopeful!

Hey! I started going to bootcamp this week and my muscles are soooo sore! I have not worked out in.....a loooong time!
We had a shit ton of rain last night added to our already saturated grounds so naturally we started the day with a flood and a search and rescue. Turned out the people were fine. But we got an 11 foot rise in water in just a few hours. My H put a boat on the water to find the people who were floating the river this morning so I had to help him with that. Now I am in the office trying to catch up on everything else. Also, I knocked my glasses on the door frame of his truck and they flew off in an awkward way and hit the ground. They aren't scratched...but now they won't hardly stay on my face because the ear pieces are bent out of whack. I am due for a check up anyway so I need to try and get into the eye doctor soon.

Hi! We had a busy day at work. Our dept is completely back to normal. I feel like I should knock on wood after making a statement like that.
I decided to stay an extra two hours for screening and signed up for a shit ton of hours next week. I am completely tired of looking at a half done house and working more will allow me to make some headway on more than one project at a time. I am on a mission to live in a house I mostly love. It’s easy money to just screen patients, so I hope working 11 days straight doesn’t completely burn me out. 😬

Hi! Dh took the big kids to go fishing on my dads boat. So not only is it my first substantial time away from them in two months, but I took the opportunity to ask my mom if they could spend the night since we just talked about feeling comfortable doing that soon. FREEDOM!
So now I’m going through Hs outgrown clothes and then I’ll probably go for a walk with L. Not sure what DH and I will do tonight, probably order take out and just relax.

C has no school today so I offered him either an hour midday to go for a bike ride or I end my work an hour early. He chose midday and we ended up out almost two hours and sunburned. But he had fun and I felt horrible that he didn't play outside much yesterday when it was also gorgeous. I was also excited to exercise a bit but then I ate a chipwich from the ice cream truck after and now want to take a name.

B called our play date ‘the best pool party ever’. The kids had a blast, ate popsicles and pretzels, and hopefully will all sleep great tonight. DH and their mom and I sat and chatted on the porch; nice little glimpse of normalcy.

I am now working from home until July 1st. I was oddly looking forward to going back to the office in 2 weeks. I'm not sure if I'm happy or disappointed about it.

So file this in the annoying quarantine husband folder...
MH waits until 5pm or after every day to workout. He is home all day, not doing a lot of “work”, with one kid (M), yet he waits until M2 gets home to take his butt outside and workout. I am so annoyed. You have all day dude. Don’t wait until I get home from work and M2 is here to workout. If I was home all day and he came home from work with M2 in tow and I said BYE I’m going to the gym, he would be just as annoyed.
So while I’m trying to cook/deal with dinner and parent the kids going in and out of the house, he is outside working out. 🙄🙄 Time for a come to Jesus talk.
