Today was a good day. Cass finally got to have a Zoom meeting. There was only one other classmate and frankly her teacher was really boring (had them do a counting game that wasn't engaging and read the alphabet), but Cass was still beaming because she finally got to interact with another kid. She didn't post the announcement for all to see about this meeting until an hour before it started so I hope next week more people are aware and join in.
The girls finally go their crap together with mostly cleaning up their messes around the house.
It was a slow day at work so I took a long lunch and got sandwiches from our favorite deli and we ate on the boardwalk. I did some yardwork when we got back then finished a report. Now I'm done for the day and almost caught up at work.
Tonight we'll finish a movie and relax.

So file this in the annoying quarantine husband folder... MH waits until 5pm or after every day to workout. He is home all day, not doing a lot of “work”, with one kid (M), yet he waits until M2 gets home to take his butt outside and workout. I am so annoyed. You have all day dude. Don’t wait until I get home from work and M2 is here to workout. If I was home all day and he came home from work with M2 in tow and I said BYE I’m going to the gym, he would be just as annoyed. So while I’m trying to cook/deal with dinner and parent the kids going in and out of the house, he is outside working out. 🙄🙄 Time for a come to Jesus talk. Nope Mr. Lahedeedah, that’s not going to work.

Are the kids riding 20" bikes now? I told Cadence I would get her a new/bigger bike once she was done with training wheels. I want to start looking now.

We got S one a few weeks ago bc he’s been riding so much and totally outgrew his old one. He’s pretty tiny compared to most of your kids and it’s still perfect for him

Our day care opened up today. We're not sending A yet, but I'm torn on when /how to go about this. They want the kids to wear masks all day, won't let the parents in, as well as a lot of other changes that I totally get, but just not sure I should jump into this. Also, germ exposure is of course s concern. Most likely I will wfh all of June, but DH may be out more, so I'd be trying to work while single parenting. Still not sure what's going on with L's summer camp. Anyone sending their kids back to daycare already or soon? I’m not yet only because E isn’t old enough to go to the one that is open. It’s for essential workers but the age minimum is 2. They encourage the kids to wear masks but understand that it’s hard for them. Parents can’t go in and you have to call when you get to the lot. I’m hoping to not have to use it and right now my bosses know I can’t go in 5 days a week until after mid June.

Maddie is still on an 18 inch bike and Cass is on a 16. They both have their seats raised about as high as they go. For Christmas we'll upgrade Maddie to a 20" and Cass will get her old one.

M2 has been in daycare- they never closed- and we have had no issues health wise. Their numbers were low, they went to outside drop off, and started taking temps upon arrival. It’s been fine, but we aren’t in a hotspot per say. You’re in NJ right? Maybe give it another week or so to give them time to work the kinks out and see if anything has changed. Their numbers may remain low, too because people won’t send their kids.

M’s 18 inch is perfect for him right now. I’m hoping to get another year out of it before we have to go bigger.

I'm intrigued by all these kids on big bikes. Cass is tall so it might work for her. I'll have her try M's tomorrow.

Ds is still on his 16inch bike. A smaller bike makes him feels a bit more secure, so for now that’s fine. We might get him a new one for his birthday. Dd has a 12inch one, perfect for learning to ride without training wheels, once ds gets a new bike, she’ll get ds’ old one.

I was tucking Maddie in and she was telling me the list of boys "in love" with her from school. It was...extensive. and included "Kai, who's kind of weird, but he has skills that would be really good in a man. He can make throwing stars from aluminum foil and to fold them up like that is really impressive. " 😆

C has been riding a 20in since last summer. He also rides his cousins old 24in at my parents house. It’s definitely too big but he’s fine on it. mamabear childcare here can open June 1st and the place he does aftercare and camp is taking school aged kids. I am working from home until September but can’t manage him and work. He will go to childcare once a week for the first three weeks and then when camp officially starts he will go full time. We both need it. Yesterday was gorgeous but I literally couldn’t pull away from work to take him outside and he doesn’t go by himself because it’s boring. So he wasted a gorgeous day inside. The kids do not have to wear masks but we don’t go in for drop off. Which is fine with me. They are also limiting how many people come total and will be split into groups of ten. They haven’t heard if they can use the pool yet but C will have plenty to do playing all of his sports. I’m a bit nervous about exposure but dh works directly with people in Boston so that’s likely way more risky.

The baby's daycare is trying to open in June, but it is halfway across town, so we won't be taking her as long as the big kids don't have a spot to go. I'm also hesitant to send her at all since I'm worried about quality of connection if the teachers have to wear masks and are minimizing cuddling with social distancing protocols since she's so little. This sucks trying to figure this out.

They get their temps checked 3 times a day.

mamabear X and P are back at DC now. Grownups wear masks, only one can come to the gate for drop off or pickup. Admin comes and takes the kids temps and they go immediately to wash hands. It’s really low attendance right now for obvious reasons. I think including X and P there are maybe ten kids most days by the looks of it.
