Today is the first day where I don’t feel like I’m going to die from nausea. I’m not holding my breath that it’ll last, but it is nice in the meantime!
I have so much purging/organizing to do. Basically our guest room will be baby boy’s room, but it’s been functioning as DH’s closet/storage, so we need to go through it all. I started with my dresser today and have almost an entire garbage bag of clothes to donate. I haven’t even touched my closet yet.

I’m really struggling with the nausea yesterday and today. This seems so much worse than when I was pregnant with my daughter. I’m also super irritable and grumpy with my husband today. I’m just a ray of sunshine it seems.

I’m trying to figure out where we will put this baby. We have a 6 bedroom house but 4 of them are in the basement where it gets much colder in the winter than the rest of house and has doors out of the house onto the mountain we live on. Ideally we would just put my 5.5 year old down there but she has ASD and I don’t know if I can handle having her down there. It might send my anxiety over the edge.

katespade glad you’re feeling better marigold hope your appointment goes well today. keep us posted! catlady22 how are you doing? have you heard anything from your dr? thinking of you the baby’s room is currently our holding room for anything we don’t know what to do with. it’ll be months before we probably do anything with it. h is working but not getting paid at the moment, but we’re hoping for a paycheck in july. so i’ll just keep on adding things to the list of things we need to get/do. it sucks but we’re fortunate that the timing of selling and moving happened when it did so that we had a bit of a safety net in savings with what we got from the old house. i do feel like my nesting urge is already starting though.

I’m not 100% sure what we would do- we live in a 3 level townhouse and our 3 bedrooms are all upstairs. We made some progress yesterday- moved my vanity out of the baby’s room and into our master, and I trashed a bunch of old makeup and random shit that had accumulated on top of it since I’ve been out of work. And catlady, I’m so sorry

I’ve had conflicting feelings for a while about what the birth of this baby looks like, even more so now with everything going on. I felt sort of stuck with a hospital birth because financially it makes most sense to birth in a hospital since we have 0% coinsurance after my deductible is met. I’ve been worried that they would limit the number of support people in the room and that I wouldn’t be able to have a doula. Plus with birthing in December being cold and flu season and all, I just wasn’t looking forward to it.
I reached out to my old midwife who now works at the birth center. She connected me with the billing department and I learned that they were working on a contract with my insurance company! It was supposed to go into effect May 1st and now they are listed as in network on the Find A Provider section of my Insurance’s website. I am thrilled! Starting the process now to transfer care and become a patient. Such a huge relief and this feels like a great in between option between home birth and hospital.

Thanks, polson! I had a great appointment; it was a big sigh of relief to see the ultrasound and hear the heartbeat. I've been so nervous; now I can relax a little!

finally had my us this morning. as far as i can tell baby looks great - measuring right on track and hb of 158. dr’s schedule ended up delayed so my follow up isn’t until this afternoon. i normally would be annoyed, but i’m looking forward to the extra quiet/alone time.

anybody else having terrible headaches? i remember having them with dd2 but i don’t feel like they were as bad as what i’m experiencing now. i took max tylenol yesterday and it did nothing for me. we have opened germ circle to my mom and aunt so i went to my moms yesterday just so the girls had a change of scenery. they helped put mulch down while i rested. it was glorious.
also my 16 week appointment will be in the office. dr gave the option of either office or phone visit, but i need bloodwork done so that decided things for me - i can’t say i mind. also have my 20 week scheduled for 6/29 and that just doesn’t seem that far away. time is dragging but also flying🤔.

I have had a few, but I’m also someone who deals with migraines often when not pregnant. I try to rest, drink fluids and eat what I can when they come. Caffeine helps- my OB told me she’d rather me have a coffee or a Coke if it would help a headache than to suffer. I have an appointment next Friday at 14+5 and then I think I schedule my A/S. I’m not sure yet if they will do it at 18 weeks when I’m due for my next appt or if they will have me come back separately at 20 weeks.

Yes, the headaches are awful! I have spent so much time down and out. And like you, Tylenol isn’t touching it.

I've been getting headaches, too- undoubtedly from lack of caffeine. My doctor told me I could have a cup a day, but I really don't even want it. I've been drinking about half a cup just to try to keep headaches at bay. Hoping to eliminate altogether soon.
Anything exciting happening this week for anyone? I'm hoping for NIPT results in the next few days.

polson my appt was perfect! Everything looks good. Baby is right on track. NIPT results came back today. Negative for trisomies!!!! I can't say gender yet because too many people know me in real life but I do know. I just promised DH I would keep it to myself for now.

nothing exciting for me this week, also just waiting on my nipt results. i’m not optimistic that i’ll get them this week though. i got a login for the company’s portal and it looks like they only received it today. we finally told h’s parents yesterday and they were pretty excited.

We're having a healthy baby girl! I am in disbelief; I've been convinced it was a boy. NIPT test was so much quicker than I expected!
Is anyone else hungry 24/7? I just can't seem to eat enough.

polson, call your doctor if you don't have the results in a few days! I called mine, and it turns out they've them since Thursday. The lab's portal still doesn't show a "results available" status yet.

I finally set up the first couple of appointments. They're doing intake over the phone (which I don't know why they weren't doing this to begin with) and then an in-person appointment at 11 weeks. No visitors so my husband won't be there so that'll be weird.

I have an appt Friday. This is the longest I’ve gone without seeing baby- I saw him at 6, 8, and 10 weeks and it’s been 4 weeks since then! I’ve started feeling occasional movement- that rolling feeling that is different from gas- but I’m still paranoid and hoping to hear a heartbeat Friday.
DD has decided baby should be named Krusher, so that’s fun.
I admittedly have a little bit of gender disappointment. It’s more about not being able to reuse the adorable clothes and DD not getting a sister. But I keep reminding myself there’s a reason we’ve got a boy coming, and he’s meant to be in our family!
