Two people have offered me their HBO GO logins (thank you!!) over the last couple of months, and I finally bit the bullet and went to watch some thing the other night only to find that there’s a whole stream-for-free/no-subscription-needed category on HBO GO. There are some good choices on there for those of you who don’t have the subscription but want something new to watch. After I finish Silicon Valley I will watch the second season of Big Little Lies . I saw this a few weeks ago and thought about starting the first season of Westworld. Can’t remember if the first season of Big Little Lies is on there. I know I want to watch that one, but I didn’t have enough time since I found out late about our free weekend. I caught up on Succession yesterday. M and I are watching FF: Hobbs and Shaw now. I need to watch the last season of Ballers today. Anyone watch Sharp Objects? Is that a good one? Barry and Sucession are on my list and they’re free too, so I’ll try those soon. I loved Sharp Objects the book; I hope the series holds up.

Morning, er afternoon. We had a showing at 12:30 so we called in a pick-up order to our favorite lunch place and brought sandwiches home afterward. It's cold and rainy here...sigh. Today is our last day of spring break, back to school tomorrow. cagoldi, I'm sorry, that must be frustrating to see and feel helpless.

cagoldi I'm sorry to hear about X. I'm sure you are both super frustrated and I hope something changes in your area to help kids who need this kind of therapy. You aren't alone, so I'm surprised nothing has happened yet! I have a FB friend who posted some stupid comment about why the US is shut down and the rules they are forcing upon us. Another guy I graduated from HS with commented that he agreed and it's all about power. A friend of hers commented about how hospitals are going to have problems when you can't reschedule elective surgeries. I had the biggest of eye rolls reading it all. What a bunch of idiots. I have a number of people in my feed like this. So stupid. So many..

*trigger warning*
A 5 year old died from COVID here. How heartbreaking. Her parents are a police officer and firefighter. Definitely hits close to home since it's local, a kid and parents still working outside the home.

Last week Atticus told me he no longer wants to be an astronaut since he learned they have to wear diapers.
He’s currently really into anatomy and watching videos of cranial surgery.😳
It’s weird, but he’s morbid, and I’m glad to have a break from that GD UY Scuti and the “Countries of the World” song for awhile.

That is awful wineallthetime. But per my dumbass friend, this is effecting such a small amount of people so lets just open everything back up. Eye roll and punch her in the face.

cagoldi I'm so sorry. I'm sure it's hard to watch him fall behind and not be able to get him the services he needs right now. I’m just annoyed that people are re-opening golf courses and beaches but our kiddos can’t get 1:1 services? Or is there even a conversation happening about how and when we can do that? If there is, I don’t know about it.🤷♀️

We are under a stay-at-home order thru mid-June here and a lot is closed, but stuff like speech/OT/physical therapy was deemed essential and is still available, so B is still going twice a week. I'm not sure about state-provided/funded services, though, as we go through a private company.

DH grabbed the wrong item from the grocery store, so he went back to exchange it. When he got to customer service, he put down the new bag and a $1 to cover the difference. The guy was like, “don’t worry about it, it’s on the house.” So DH bought a $1 scratcher lotto ticket with the dollar bill, and won $40!
I will take it.

I've heard that here too! Cause 2,400 deaths in MI is such a small amount of people 🙄 And hearing stories of those who recovered are very scary too. All those people in the ICU with no family able to visit, struggling to breath and terrified. My friend's brother is one of them. They all face timed yesterday to tell him they love him right before he was getting intubated and put on a ventilator. My friend sat in her car outside of the hospital just because she wanted to be as close to him as possible.

If they lay out a detailed plan with safety measures that is strictly enforced, then maybe, but anything other than that is too risky. I get it’s way more complicated than that, but right now the opening up plan is way too vague.

He was healthy and in the best shape of his life prior to this. He's still in icu and they don't know when he'll be able to come home.

Hey. I’ve been working on some spring cleaning today. We are hopefully trading in my car to get a van this week so I cleaned out everything I could for now. I feel like my house is 100x messier after the weekends. DH clearly doesn’t help it stay clean. We spent some time outside this morning but it is super windy so it’s not super great to be out there. I’m sorry cagoldi, I think it’s ridiculous that X can’t get the help he needs. peachsmama ugh. Get some folex carpet cleaner, that stuff works miracles. That’s so sad wineallthetime

Ooh that's exciting about the new van trtlcrzy ! Do you have your eye on anything in particular? I've been doing some more purging--getting rid of 6 pairs of shoes, a couple handbags and some clothes. I hold onto shoes for way too long :cringe: Meanwhile, DH found some floor stain/poly and is going around touching up areas of the hardwood floors that are worn. Amazing what a half hour can do. Sometimes I feel like all of this -- pandemic, military pushing move dates back, tree falling, etc. -- is like the house trying to keep us here. It's clearly been a long time since it's had any love or attention and it doesn't want us to leave. :nervous laugh:

Guise, being able to try on jeans at old Navy is way more important to me than all the people dying. 🙄
I'm just waiting for all the damn protestors to get sick. Then maybe they will see how stupid they are being.

Me too on the shoes, flamingo. I think it’s bc there are certain pairs you can only wear with certain looks. Like this amazing pair of suede bcbg peep toes that I have only worn twice, and still cannot put in the donate pile!

Although admittedly, the stuff I'm getting rid of is not particularly fun...mostly worn out ballet flats and some outdated evening shoes, lol. One pair I am still keeping are my wedding shoes...I will probably never require ivory peau-de-soie pumps again, but I just don't have the heart to let them go. My mom still has hers 40 years later so I come by it honestly, I guess. .

DH has a friend that works at the dealership so he’s handling it and I’m having a hard time not being in control. I just want to get it already. Once I make up my mind about something I have no chill.

I ended up going to a local appliance store to see what they had and a find out about sooner delivery date. I cancelled the Lowe’s order and bought one with them. They also had interest free financing, so we did that with plans to just pay it off in 6 months time. It will be here 1 day sooner. They also reminded me about Lowe’s delivery issues. Apparently a lot of customers go to them with complaints about pushed back deliveries. I dealt with that back when I bought my washer dryer and do not want to deal with that when we NEED a working refrigerator ASAP.

I’m so glad that’s one thing you don’t have to worry about anymore, flamingo! flamingo, I am also keeping my wedding shoes. They are in a box somewhere with other wedding paraphernalia. They are also peau de soie, in a very pretty light aqua color.

wineallthetime that's heartbreaking. flamingo I hold on to shoes for far too long too. Some because i love them and wear them down to nothing where they just need to be tossed and it's hard for me to throw them away. Others because I need them for certain dressier outfits but I rarely dress up. trtlcrzy ooh. Exciting. lahdeedah yay! Hope they fully install it when they bring it.

For HBO people definitely watch Barry.
I liked West World (have only seen the first season). But it's too sleepy for me. It's filmed in a kind of dreamy dramatic style and it must hit those brain waves that just put me to sleep.

S decided to get his karate stuff out and is doing karate - we haven't been to an actual lesson since October so I have no idea when this came from. But he got his old belt and weapons and everything and it's keeping him busy so, cool.
I'm alternating between teaching the boys and scouring for delivery spots. Every time I get one, it feels like I won the lottery!
