On our Delta flights in May, the whole plane's middle seats are blocked off.

Just like Disney taking temps at the gate, I just chuckle at planes blocking off middle seats. Like, it's a nice thought, but it's not actually going to keep me healthy if there's a sick person behind me.

We had a lot planned before everything. So far we are basically anticipating needing to cancel everything but taking it one month at a time. We only had one trip that had reservations made (MIL actually made them for when we were to go camping with them in July) but I don't think those have been canceled yet.

We cancelled our summer trip to NYC & nj shore to visit friends, and we cancelled our fall trip to Japan. We aren't planning anything else right now. If we go anywhere this summer, it will be drivable.
I'm reallocating spring break (Disney cruise 😕) money to redoing my front yard, so at least I can look forward to a prettier yard since we're spending so much time at home!

MY bff, sister and I have a trip planned in July for my 40th. We haven't cancelled it and I will not do so until the last possible minute. I need that trip.
The boy scout troop my son is part of just cancelled the canoe trip they had planned for July. They were doing a huge trip for over a week because one of the boys made Eagle Scout this year. They never do big trips until someone gets Eagle. So it is a big deal they cancelled. They talked about doing something in the fall but the kid who is an Eagle now will be off to college. So I don't see the point. They just cancelled this morning so I haven't told my son yet. He will be crushed. He was really looking forward to it.
My sister and I had a double motherboy planned for end of May, not sure if that will happen. Her son has health issues so not sure if we want to risk it.
The only vacation still planned is to Seattle in December. My son loves the Seahawks and he doesn't know it yet but his birthday present is a going to a game there. We have gone to Vikings-Seahawks games in MN for the past few years but he will love this even more.

We were supposed to go to my in laws (a 4 hour flight) on 4/1. We booked a flight for the end of July but it’s all on southwest so it’s easily changeable. We have never seen better prices so we figured we’d hop on it and just deal with changing it if we need to.
We have also talked about doing some sort of driveable vacation basically as soon as is feasible. But since we don’t know when that will be, we haven’t booked anything yet.

We only had small things planned (expensive for us) and I cancelled them all. I’m kind of surprised seeing the poll results.

We have our annual family vacation set for first week of August. I thought for SURE that would be fine, but am starting to have doubts. This is a trip we take every year with my aunts, parents, brothers and their families, at the same resort each year. I'm really hoping it can happen.
We're supposed to visit my parents at their house (same state, a couple hours away) in mid-June, and at that time, DD3 is supposed to have her official dyslexia assessment. I was really hoping that would be able to happen, too.
We are hoping to still go to our cottage. We could do that for sure if we completely isolated there and went to no restaurants or stores, but it's definitely more fun if we can go out. Usually we visit parks, restaurants, the library, stores etc....I guess we'll see what happens.

Voted wait and see. We have a trip to disney booked for late August. We are 97% that we are cancelling. I have a back up plan of camping at Acadia in Maine.

We still have plans to do our annual Hatteras Island vacation mid July. It's driving distance and my parents own the place so it just hinging on whether or not Dare County opens up to visitors by then. I sure hope they do. We are supposed to be there now 😭.

We don't usually do big summer vacations. We moved our Disney trip from March to October and will do the usual plan ahead, but I'm definitely worried. I'm sure it will be open by then, I'm just not sure what the risk will look like. We drive to the beach in the summer to MH's family's house numerous times a summer and we will likely still do that at some point. We also plan to visit my family in Ohio in the summer and don't plan on cancelling at this time, but it's another driving trip so easily moveable.

I hadn’t planned anything anyway since I’ll be on maternity leave, so no.
As for future further out travel, usually I like to do some kind of winter trip, but honestly I can’t see myself getting on a plane for the next 6 months to a year at least.

We have two camping trips and two SoCal trips (Disney and a concert) planned for July/August. I’m not canceling anything yet, and just hoping we’re not forced to cancel. DD will be so devastated if the concert gets cancelled.

I don't see a plane as being any different than basically anything else where I'm in close proximity to anyone. I mean maybe I'll wear a mask on a plane long after I stop wearing a mask in public though. We will be driving if we go anywhere. For us. DS has yet to walk off a plane and not get a cold, so it's A Thing any way but we deal with it. Don't google the germ situation on planes. You'll never leave your house. It's alarming. eta The recycled air makes it a bit of a different situation than being in open air with others. So it's a step up in the risk factor.

I also think we will be doing face coverings, if not a mask, for a long while. I did the wrapped scarf maneuver today to drop a package at UPS (was in and out in three seconds), and it was non intrusive. That will be something I see us doing from now on during flu season and all future whispers of COVID breakouts.

Somehow my brain has concluded that it’s safer to just keep moving, so walking around the airport feels less germy than sitting in a seat for three hours while Sheila breathes her germy breath in the space between the seats. I’m sure this is scientifically wrong 😂

I read this and snapped my head back and laughed.
Hell naw we aren't planning on any summer travel.
I don't give any fucks if people "think" it's all good and give the all clear. You go first.
LOL. OMG I can't stop laughing.

OMG I can't stop laughing. We've been pretty firmly on the Trust No Bitch on this whole thing. I just think Trump is going to tell it's okay and really won't be. And I don't trust him or his people to tell us when the next wave starts until it's too late again. I know this is paranoia, every one. I understand.

But you're not wrong.

I’m grateful that my parents live less than 5 miles from us and have a pool and the perfect summer backyard. That’s basically where we will be going most of the summer.

I don’t even want to take the train when I can go back to work. Which sucks because the train is better for the environment and my stress level.

This was us because I will be on ML literally just about the entire summer. We’ve been discussing taking a trip to Disney over spring break next year maybe, and maybe flying to Scandinavia to visit my brother next summer, but nothing solidified yet. A lot of it depends on when things reopen, how early this baby comes, and all the other things.

I think all of us are well aware that we are weighing the risks versus the benefits of traveling at any point during this.
