I want so bad to go to one of our hotdog/ice cream stands with how nice it is today but H is firm no eating out of any sort (and I get it) but my belly wants a yummy shake and a cheap hotdog!

That's really great NamasteBirches. I had a bit of good school-related news today too. DS got into the full day kindergarten program at our preferred location. Such a relief because we really had no clue what to do if he had to attend half day.

NamasteBirches, we got packets of work and R's teacher set up google classroom and seesaw but we're primarily on our own with it. It's more than some schools are doing but not as much as others. I guess it's a middle ground. Yesterday I got to teach fractions! When did they start doing fractions in first grade?!?

It’s been a whirlwind of a week. We’ve got three different schools here and we had a large learning curve. We’ve finally found our groove. We’ve had positive experiences with all 3 of us. I’ve been as innovative as I can be with my young learners and it’s been well received. I’m happy to send things along to anyone also. I’m also doing some FaceTime tutoring for some of my friends kids across the country.
We did hear that DS got into the gifted school here and that was huge for us if we go back in the fall. We’re having a very contentious levy here that if it fails will result in DSs innovative school closing for his age group. It was a relief to hear that he got into the other program. It’s been a huge anxiety for him and me.

But I don't want to move him up because then he will be in the same class as R.

It’s so hard Pistol. DS has been so bored (he’s in a gifted school program now but due to levy concerns it’s not a priority for the district). Ohio only has one public gifted school and it’s hard to get into. It’ll be a commute for us but I’m hoping it pays off. We’ve fought against skipping a grade so hard for so many years. All of this to say I can relate and sympathize.

Yes NamasteBirches that’s the school. He’s had the scores but they haven’t had space for him until now.

It took MH 6 hours to get the water out of the basement. He's working 430am-430pm tomorrow because city hall flooded.
He was supposed to be off the next two weeks to watch the kids while I work (they aren't essential so they're just...off for social distancing). Instead hes working to relocate stuff out of city hall and I'm WFH with a 7yo and an 18mo.
I'm so mentally exhausted from life.

& DH wants to go to Home Depot & Lowe's tomorrow bc an order of ours is in. He'll be alright if he goes at like 6am, right? Right? I feel like I'm panicking now. This shit is too close for comfort.

See if they will bring it out to the bay and load it up for him if its already paid for. On our contractor side, there is a carport like area that people will pull up to if they have a lot of shit instead of lugging it through the parking lot.

All of this to say I can relate and sympathize. They've been giving him 1st grade level work and it's so easy for him. I signed him up for prodigy and lied and said he was in 1st and the only issue he has is I have to read some of the questions to him. He hears R ask me a question and rolls his eyes and says the answer. He's a smug little ass at times.

Also we haven't done one minute of schooling. Technically this was spring break week anyway. I have no clue how this is going to go yet. I don't think my girls have even changed out of their pajamas in the past 3 days! DD is on spring break this week too. They won't have anything available to the students until next Wednesday though. I feel like the days will be just mayhem here and she'll be doing it all in the evenings.

DH starts working from home next week. I’ve had 2 days of homeschooling/working from home. It’s doable, but I’m exhausted, and I get the feeling having DH here isn’t going to make it any easier...

I made DD shower today because I think she's been in the same pajamas at least 5 days 😬 I also had the flu so we were pretty checked out

We got in & out of Lowe's, HD, & Menards in under 45 minutes. Everything was all good, barely around people until the folks in front of us at Menards said to go ahead bc we only had one item vs their full cart. So it was this awkward congregation in the middle of the checkout Lane bc DH left me with a door while he used the keypad that is way down yonder. Worst 2 minutes of my life. Then as we were leaving the husband let's out a big cough while he's ready to start bagging. Gahhhhhhhh

My kids are too into the iPad and tv. Why the fuck do I have all of these toys if they don’t even want to play with them?! Sorry, not Ohio related.
At least (for now) daycare/preschool is still open so no screens there. The school has put in place all precautions (checking temps, carline pickup and drop off, no more than 10 kids per class and no switching classes) so I don’t feel too bad still sending them while I can.

No it's just a small private school that they go to but everyone (even my mom's cousin who is very anti private schools) says this school is better than the public schools and that the kids from our school tend to be ahead of their peers in the public school where they push them just a bit more. Like C was reading at 4.5 because of their K4 program. And fractions in 1st grade. Etc.
