My work has canceled classes the last 2 days but staff was to report despite the level 2, but encouraged people to work remotely. I am working remotely, but it still shows they do not care about employees.

I know I'm in the minority, but I just don't get that stressed about driving in this kind of weather. I worry more about losing power.

It's still snowing here. I think we're under a new winter storm watch or advisory. There's just so much snow. They managed to get up the driveway for trash pick up, but only took one can and none of the recycling. They were all in the same spot too. Our street got plowed for the first time last night but I'm not sure if they've come back.

Resurrecting this thread to talk masks.
Ohio seems to finally be getting a little? better. Are you still wearing a mask indoors?
We are but with this newest CDC guidance, our county is considered low. DS has no problem wearing it but I'm curious how you all are living life. I'd personally love to ditch them but am feeling uneasy still TBH.

I tested not wearing a mask today and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I tested not wearing a mask today and I'm not sure how I feel about it. it's definitely a strange feeling. I went without last night (managed to forget one) for maybe an hour at my son's ice skating lesson & felt weird.

We're still wearing masks indoors. They're required in the preschool, I'm hoping the keep that to finish out the school year. My older kids are wearing one to help protect the littlest, at least until a vaccine is approved.
I went into Target yesterday to return some stuff, first time I had been inside in months. Very few were wearing masks and I was very uncomfortable. I do think some of that is anxiety and the last 2 years of making serious lifestyle modifications, but I also think the preschooler not being vaccinated contributes.

If I had a kiddo that couldn't be vaxxed yet, I'd definitely be in the same boat. It's so hard.

My work is dropping our mask mandate 3/1. But we have weekly mandatory COVID testing, so that makes me feel much more comfortable. I will stop masking there.
I have been masking at stores but I feel like about 3 weeks ago, mask usage dripped from maybe 50% to probably 5%. Like overnight. I think locally people just gave up. If I’m the only one wearing one, it feels useless so I’ll probably stop. I only go to maybe one store a week and usually go early, so it’s not too crowded.

Our public school dropped the mandate. I asked DS to wear his but he’s the only one and feels weird being the only one. DD’s preschool still requires one. My work requires them.
It depends on the crowd. If I run into Target I usually don’t wear one because it’s not crowded and I won’t be close to anyone. Same with swim lessons. We sit off to the side. When I go grocery shopping we wear them because it is usually crowded and I have a hang up being around food without a mask.

Our school district dropped the requirement earlier this week, and my work is dropping it starting Monday. I have left mine off a few times going into a store quickly, but otherwise have left it on. My kids still have to wear them in the bus and at the aftercare. DS says he leaves his on all day except for during gym class and for a little break after recess. DD said she leaves it on “sometimes.” I know it has to be hard when no one else keeps theirs on.
I’m ready to be done with them but now that school and work ended the mandate I feel weird.

My office is ending their mandate Monday. Since it’s still 85% work from home, I am happy to go mark free there. There are less than 10 people on any given day in an office space large enough to accommodate 150 people.
Daycare still has a mask mandate but school does not.

DS has been wearing a mask to school this whole time even though the mandate ended months ago. DH doesn't wear one at work. Everyone is vaccinated & he's rarely out of his office. I WFH so I don't interact with anyone.

Our works are still mask mandated as is DD’s school, but I’ve gotten a little more lax about us doing it outside that. We try to go to places at off times.
I did meet DD’s friend and her mom last night with dd for dinner which we haven’t done in a long time

Local schools here ended their mandates a while ago. We went ice skating at OU today and didn't wear masks while we were on the ice or into the restaurant we stopped at for lunch. But I was surprised to see a few places had signs requiring masks regardless of vaccine status.

Our schools dropped the ask mandate this week and DD(9) has been one of 4 in her class of 24 still wearing one. Not a single teacher/adult in the building is still wearing one.
The district run preschool is still requiring them, but their ration was no vaccine and I wonder if they'll stop with the new CDC guidance. I hope not.
Surprisingly DS said about 50% of the HS kids are still wearing them. It's shocking to me there's such a disparity between HS and elementary.

I wanted to ask this again since times have changed *a little* since the last time I've asked. Are you still not associating with unvaxxed family members?
To my knowledge, none of my family is vaccinated. We don't live anywhere near them (in fact, my mom is currently in Italy) but I'm just trying to wrap my mind around the reality of never seeing them again/staying firm to not seeing anyone unvaxxed.

My sister and her family are not vaccinated and I associate with them. Not as much as before but that is more so because we are all back to being in school/work/busy. I feel that I am working outside the home as is H. My dd is going to school with unvaccinated kids. We are vaccinated and boosted (well DD is just vaccinated) so the risk is coming from anywhere at this point. I don't know if it is the right thing, but I am very close with my sister and her kids and just see this as a good fit

My husband's brother and possibly his wife aren't vaccinated and we've seen them outside at playgrounds and stuff. Once our youngest gets vaccinated I think it will be back to normal with seeing them. For us that's not a lot in general, but they like to do a big brunch for mother's day and family thing for my MIL's birthday, which is in January. It greatly frustrates me that he/they won't get vaccinated but I really have no place to speak on it. And a lot of times when we see them we are outside, so that is comfortable to me. We are all local to each other.

My brother and his girlfriend are not vaxxed. We still associate with them but they were understanding and even took it upon themselves to distance when numbers were really high. They at least aren't obnoxious non vaxxed people.

Well, we finally got the message. DS's school will be going mask optional starting Tuesday. I have no idea what I want to do. None.

DS had a robotics tournament from 8am - 6pm yesterday & went maskless for the first time in idk how long. We were also without masks but basically sitting down in super uncomfortable chairs the whole time. It definitely feels weird. I don't think we're in the clear as much as everyone else thinks we are around here & feel like this has happened last year when Delta came out but if we're always the only ones in masks, I think it's moot/useless.
Idk what to feel/think lately about everything.

I think I've decided to let DS go maskless when they go optional tomorrow. I'm a little freaked but I think it's time to start trying to find some sense of normalcy.
Now whether I will change my mind in a few days, who knows.
