I am nervous for Ohio's votes after last night. So many people under the local news channel's stories are pro trump even after last night. The amount of people defending his stand down and stand by comment was alarming.

I just take great comfort in knowing that Biden is polling well in Ohio right now. That didn't happen in 2016. I don't think he would have picked up any extra Ohio support from his insanity last night.

Our HS has 2 more cases and 27 related quarentines. DS had to go in after school hours yesterday to have his picture taken for the yearbook/student ID and he said all the athletes walking around didn't have on masks 🤦♀️. I saw a post on FB that the cases were from the basketball team.

Okay, pal. So much ridiculousness. I told H I was worried and he said he feels confident that Biden will win. Then we discussed what would happen then. Will Trump declare martial law under the disguise of covid control? What kind of bullshit will the trump supporters pull after the election if he does lose?

I know a lot of people are afraid to put signs up because of what they think Trump supporters may do. What even is our world that you have to be afraid to put a sign in your yard.

Well I'll be the odd one out--I feel like my suburb leans red, but I've been pleasantly surprised by the number of Biden signs. At least a dozen in my neighborhood (and a few others with BLM signs, which I assume won't be a Trump voter). Only two Trump flags and two signs--one of which was stolen the first night it was out, and the residents promptly posted on the neighborhood FB page about this terrible crime. . By election day in 2016, there were 2 Clinton signs and 1 Trump sign in the neighborhood. So this is definitely a change from 4 years ago. I drove through UA a couple of weeks ago, and it's plastered with Biden support.

I'm so glad they are the odd ones out, more people around us have put up signs for Biden. Across from the Trumper put up a sign with little Trump babies saying "not voting is the #1 cause of unwanted presidencies"

Yellow Springs cancelled their ToT event, but everyone just bitches they're scared little liberal snowflakes.
I'm still undecided what I'm going to do with the kids, especially with so many 45 signs in the neighborhood. DS(16) doesn't care and DS(2) doesn't get it. DD(8) is the only one interested and I think she'd be okay with hiding candy around the house and watching a movie

My mom told me she heard that our area is still having ToT. Our city is as are all the suburbs around us Our suburb is as well, but a few of the neighboring 'burbs have canceled so I feel like it's going to be even more chaotic than it normally is. We thought about renting a cabin for the weekend but that was a) not a unique idea and b) is the week our district is transitioning to in person / hybrid learning so it complicates it further. Dd1 overheard us talking about not ToT and got upset but the little two don't care. I may bribe her with some Harry Potter legos and a pinata for all. Maybe they can camp out in the tent in the back yard for the night if the weather isn't terrible?

Our town is so far doing trick or treat. We are still planning our spooky dinner as usual with their cousins since they’re here all the time. Our crew will be happy with some hidden candy, costumes and fun Halloween games that I’m planning for them.

Yeah, I think we're just going to get DS some kind of goodie basket for Halloween. I'm not down with ToT yet.

This sounds fun, and since Halloween is on a Saturday this year, I could probably pull off something like that. We are skipping ToT too. My kids have been weirdly even keeled with all of the cancellations (birthday parties, vacations, etc). Even though they’re 5 and 7, they’re just like “oh, I guess we can’t do that because of COVID-19. Hopefully we can do it next year.”

A lot of my suburb, especially closer to town, is plastered in Biden. It makes me feel hopeful.

The boys plan the menu using Pinterest. We’ve done things like mummy hot dogs (hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough), spiders (babybel cheese balls with pretzel legs), Mac and cheese in jack o lanterns (I put it in orange peppers that I carve a face into), pumpkin pizzas (dough filled with pizza fillings and then wrapped around to form a ball- then I tie with twine so it bakes with the pumpkin lines), etc. We make a dirt pudding for dessert. I put worms in it and those candy pumpkins on top. Pinterest has so many ideas! We change it up all the time. I’ve done this since DS was super small. It’s the highlight of the holiday- I try to theme the whole day for them. Now at 12 DS does most of the work for our holiday theme days.

I think our city agreed to trick or treat with a lot of stipulations, but I have no faith in people that they will follow it. Our in laws (who we've been seeing this whole time) are just going to have Halloween at their house and decorate their garage and have treat bags for the cousins. Whenever we go trick or treating it always seems to be windy/rainy/miserable, so I'm good with some apple cider with caramel vodka and parking my ass in a chair.
