We’ve been home all day except for MH who had to run to the beach because my neighbor sent a picture of our deck railing coming loose. My nieces wedding is still on for tomorrow. School is closed for at least 2 weeks so I figure we are going to the wedding then not seeing anyone for 2 weeks after. I’ve never been so glad we invested in a swing set until this week.

So I thought I was pretty chill about this and my big concern was childcare issues while working but I’m not ok. We got an email that there have been a few positives in our school district and if we were exposed we would have gotten a letter today. I hadn’t checked the mail and we were at my parents. Thank goodness they live close because I was having a panic attack until we got home. No letter but wow. I didn’t realize how scared I was of the actual virus.
Also my mom is not grasping her risk level at all. She has a suppressed immune system, is 65, and catches everything. She’s asking about a get together next weekend for my nephews bday and I’m like 😧. When we rushed out to check the mail I think she started to get it maybe.

That’s frustrating, wedding. I talked to my dad today and it was so annoying. Wanted to make sure he and my SM has plenty of foods and meds. He’s fully on the Trump train and living in an alternate universe where this is NBD. Doesn’t understand why me and my sisters (asthma and lupus, respectively) feel like we should stay home.

The anxiety with this is hard. To be honest, it kind of makes me feel better that others have anxiety because that means they're taking it seriously and likely taking some precautions. It bothers me that some people won't make any changes but I can't get too focused on that.
+3 to worried about a parent. My mom is 66 and does in-home daycare. She doesn't have respiratory issues, but has a heart condition and takes a million medications. 😬 My stepdad is a major germaphobe so at least his super power of excessive disinfecting may come in handy.

I’m thinking it must not be a bad allergy is if I never knew I had it.🤷♀️ inthekitty he’s just exploring right now. Talks like Sinny did, too! He yelled at me when he couldn’t find his litter box and then he promptly peed when I showed him, so his potty habits seem good. Not sure about his name yet. I wouldn’t have chosen it, but it’s fine for me unless the kids want to pick something else. I’m glad you’re feeling better! I am cautiously optimistic that I have turned a corner. In the words of Medieval Plague survivor appearing in “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”, I feel fine, I’m not dead yet, I think I’ll go for a walk.

I went to Hobby Lobby for a frame and Lowe’s for some garden stuff and paint. I didn’t end up getting paint because I’m still second guessing myself. I just want a pint of the color I think I want so I can do a small wall or two to make sure I will like it. wedding So sorry about the anxiety. I’m pretty much operating under the notion that someday most of us will have had it and survived it. Right now we are just trying to slow down the spread to not overwhelm the hospital system. It’s not going to vanish suddenly and a vaccine is not happening soon enough. Hell, the government can’t even get us the tests we need. With that said, if I was in that age bracket and/or have underlying medical issues, I would probably not be as calm about it. I do worry for the two grandparents I have and hope that they choose to spend the majority of the next couple weeks at home. I’m glad you both are feeling better than you were this past week inthekitty and cagoldi.

Just looked at the kid’s work for homeschooling. T has 49 pages of math and 47 language arts. They don’t look hard but I don’t know that I have enough printer ink to handle that plus the older kid’s stuff.

I’m also a bit nervous that we don’t have enough food but the school sent a message that breakfast and lunch are available daily for all students, regardless of income so I feel better that if we are really stuck, at least I can get the kids something.

I guess my dad is taking things a little more seriously after talking to me and my sister.
He just called from Target saying he went out to see if he could find diapers for X and P. But, I think he’s more worried about people panicking than he is the virus.

How are you feeling cagoldi? I've finally turned the corner and am getting better. Glad you have turned the corner. I mentioned you suspected you had it to mh and wanted to know your symptoms..he has a deep painful cough but urgent care said it was from allergies. Hows M doing? So what happens now once you have had it? Can you stop socially isolating? I hate that we can't get tested to find out if we have it, so we know how to proceed.

Our management committee met yesterday. They basically said is you catch corona or have to take care of someone with corona, you can use FMLA time. No working from home. With the schools being closed, you can use sick time. Great, I have 10 hours of sick time.... Well this is beyond infuriating.

Yes.Yes.Yes It’s very interesting how different jurisdictions are handling all of this, doesn’t mean that there is a right/wrong way but I appreciate some facts behind what our top Dr is recommending and apparently is following the way Singapore handled COVID . She is really focusing on flattening the curve. Saying that the amount of people may be less but it’s about ensuring the medical system can handle the ones on an ongoing basis as opposed to major surges. All rec centres have been closed in my city, no large gatherings and a large focus on social distancing. An interesting take on the schools, that again was done in Singapore, is that at this time she is keeping them open with stricter rules specifically for any child with signs of sickness, they are to be sent home immediately and said if she closed schools they’d be closed for the rest of the school year because flattening the curve is 8-12 weeks for a pandemic. Anyway, that was long but I’m kind of leaning into our new normal.

tallb fatigue was most prominent throughout. Body aches, headache, bad cough (pulled a chest muscle), mild fever (but only the first night), no appetite. The lack of testing is so frustrating. Someone on another thread shared an article you can recover from Covid-19 and get it again. 😬 I assumed at least people who've had it would have immunity. Thanks a lot for sharing that social distancing thread. Americans have such an I'll-do-what-I-want/you-cant-take-my-freedoms-away attitude that I worry about how this will go. I wish Dump would officially encourage all businesses to support work from home. I figure if we're going to have 6 weeks without school we might as well have it for for a purpose and not for naught.

vino I was wondering how long it is needed to actually flatten the curve, but I suspected longer than 2 weeks, which is what our schools have closed for to start. I'm at home indefinitely, so am planning to act accordingly, and will keep the kids home too. The only silver lining is packing up my pump for a while. And trying to enjoy the extra time with the kids, I wonder how they will remember this when they are older?

Good morning. I’m back at work. I had a real hard time convincing myself to get up this morning. I have a feeling that it’s going to be a long day. Hopefully my door won’t be as busy because the pharmacy and lab are closed on Sundays.
I’m doing my part to sanitize, wash my hands and cover my cough/sneezes so to help against the spread. I can’t get too worked up about it though or I’ll go nuts.

I’m trying to order Easter candy online in case I can’t go out to buy it. Amazon is overcharging and Target says not available for delivery. I really don’t want to go to a store. The bunny may have to just bring cash this year and hide eggs full of coins.

Morning. Went to the garden centre and brought my best friend some flowers for her birthday. Based on what ds is saying we made a schedule for school times. We’ll try and stick to this, but I’m not sure how long we’ll last. It’s something to hang on to I guess 🤷🏼♀️.
