Hey ladies. S has her well check this morning and refused to get undressed to put the gown on. The doctor just rolled with it and it was fine. I had the option of getting some shots but decided to defer them till next year. The weather is nice today but I will not be doing so much physical labor today because my body can’t handle it. My butt muscles are sore after yesterday. Right now it’s lunch time and then I’m sure we’ll be outside this afternoon. I have some family drama I want to complain about so I’m going to post on the private board.

I'm sorry you both are feeling overwhelmed. It's a sucky feeling. Some days I'm like "oh I got this" and others it's "shit, I'm drowning" Makes no sense.

I ended up sending M to school. He had 12 ounces of Gatorade and ate all his lunch and was bouncing off the walls. But I'm home all day if the school calls.

Full calendar this week.
My uncle had a seizure, fell down, and broke both shoulders. I took Dude to get fancy cupcakes and pay him a visit last night.
Pop has a dental visit this afternoon, then we’re meeting some friends for frozen yogurt.
Tomorrow I’m getting my crown for that broken molar.
Thursday Dude has a play date after school, and Friday the elementary is closed so the boys will just hang out here. Obviously, work will be insane that day, too.

How’s your mom doing as of late, tallb? She's okay, thanks for asking. She keeps busy with stuff at the senior center and does some PT still. We visited this weekend and she was a bit teary and missed me and the kids. She spends a lot of her time texting her sisters and my sister and I..I feel bad bc it often annoys me with all of her questions. I'm not really sure what the future holds but it's daunting to think about seeing that her parents lived to 98/99. Feeling the sandwiched generation squeeze even though I don't have to actually do much in terms of care right now, just the mental load of making sure she's okay.

I’m sorry you guys are overwhelmed tallb and vino . vino can you take a day off work to try and get a couple of things done? tallb I would say the same but I think your daycare is near your work, not home. But maybe your H can give you space this weekend. And I’m sure with your moms fall anniversary you just feel unsettled. I hope this passes for both of you soon. I am leaving early a couple days this week that will help for sure, but it just seems from 5.15am-9pm I am go, go go. It's banana's right now.

Woof.
Our district has these special ed advisory meetings once a month, and they’re informative so I like to attend when it works out.
The last one was about estate planning and the amount of information is overwhelming ATM. I can’t really tackle any of it until things are finalized with me and Pete, and the safety stuff makes sense but it’s made me spiral a bit. They have trainings he’s supposed to watch about how to safely interact with police, cards and monitors he’s supposed to wear, a scent safe thing in case dogs have to find him.
Goodness. The stuff you didn’t ever think about and definitely don’t want to.
Time to step away for awhile and watch cat videos of something.

Hugs tallb. I get the mental load thing all too well and I'm sorry you're feeling overwhelmed. Thanks for checking in cagoldi. I'm okay, just really busy and trying to get ahead - or at least not further behind - since I'm now going to be pretty much out of pocket for the entire 3rd week of the month. I'm going to try to get in a few hours of work here and there while visiting my parents, but I'm not going to stress it. Fortunately my manager is very understanding.

Hi all, sorry for going MIA again. I've been really trying to be more present with DH and the kids when I'm home and things have really been picking up at work. I'm really excited and proud of this project and it's like we've FINALLY seeing everything coming together. I've been working with so many different departments to ensure the official kick-off is a success and meanwhile getting a few beta clients up and running. I'm a bit stressed about being out a week this month and again next, but there's not much I can do about it.
In other news, DH has been amazing - hence trying to be more present - and our sticker charting has begun. The boys seem gungho so far, but I've rigged a few easy wins to get started to try to hook them in. At least at this point, Chase's teachers know that we're trying a multi-pronged approach to shaping him up. His teacher actually said his biggest issue right now is that he gets the giggles during nap and once he starts, he can't stop. Then a few friends join in, and eventually no one is sleeping. I mean, it's hard to be MAD at that and even his teachers seem to think it's kind of funny. But they (understandably) don't appreciate dealing with a bunch of over-tired 3 and 4 year olds come 3:30/4pm.
I don't have much to say about Colin except I miss him - he and DH do so much together and as much as I love seeing them get so close, I miss my guy! He's turned into such a thoughtful and smart kid, it's no fair that DH gets to hog his time. LOL!

lfig Have you started back at work? How’s the babysitting arrangement so far? joelies hope you get a chance to check in soon. Yep! Back at work and super busy! But I had to take today off for S’s infusion. And the babysitter has just had her 2x now because MH was off the other days and able to get her. But seems ok so far. Except yesterday she was supposed to pick her up at 2:45 and she texted me at 2 and said she had gotten sick and couldn’t get her. So I had to quickly wrap up at the office, then get back to my personal vehicle (was in a work vehicle at an office in another town) and fly to the school.

Hey hey! Today was infusion day so I’m home with the kiddo. Took 2 sticks to get her started today and then she blew a vein so had to stick again in the other arm. So now she has a football shaped arm until it all absorbs.
We have had a lot of fish in our aquarium die in the last month and we couldn’t figure out why. It’s a 65 gal saltwater aquarium and we had a pretty cool collection of 🐠. Well, we figured it out finally. The heater had malfunctioned and we basically cooked them. 😞 We now have a new heater, we did a big water change and cleaned things up good. We had 5 fish, a starfish, and a crab that survived and seem to be doing much better now! We also now have a thermometer permanently in there. But dang that was a lot of work, and a lot of $$ in lost fish.

Reading about Trump’s latest meeting briefing him about Coronavirus and him asking if they can just use the flu vaccine makes me want to both laugh and cry.
How are people really wanting to re-elect this colossal idiot?!
Electing him was baffling enough, but the knowledge that anyone, anywhere will consider giving him another shot at it is truly beyond belief.

There is a hysterical john oliver segment on youtube about the virus, highly recommend. I was chuckling out loud at my desk.

The universe must have heard me. Left work early and traffic was good so I had time to swing by a vacuum repair shop and they had the part I need, $40 later and and I was on my way! Then had time to get cat food before getting home to the hardwood floor guy for a quote that came early. 🙌🏻

I could muster an ounce of understanding if a Trump supporter would just admit "I know he's a moron (bigot/sexist/racist/etc), but I voted for him because...(it would be good for my business/I agree with his xxxx policy, etc)." It wouldn't change my view of their morals, but at least it would show some thought process. If you don't notice he's dumb as a box of rocks you must have your own deficits.

And then I start to spiral and think, what if we get Trump out just for people to vote in someone even worse (is that possible!?) One day are we going to think, "Wow, we wish we had Trump over this person"?. Omg, I need a drink.

This morning when I went to get the boys, Dude was reading X a story.
I was thinking about how he is really maturing because earlier he said, “do you know what I do when I have bad dreams? I empty my mind. I change my brain.”
Then a little later he yelled from the bathroom, “Mom, you have to come see this monster poop. It’s crazy big.” 😂

And please let me specify that I DO NOT want him to stay president for fear of worse. I want him gone. My mind just spirals!

Tuesday nights I’ve taken to watching the new seasons of Schitts Creek and Workin’ Mom’s since they’re on back to back on cable tv. Rushing to the chair for 9pm, getting a tea or going to washroom on commercial breaks.
I feel so vintage.

I’m still recording it in case a small human or a particular needy cat interrupts me but it’s been a couple weeks that it’s worked out like this and I’m kinda diggin it...or I’m going a little crazy over here by myself all the time 😂.

I still wake up some days and can't believe our country elected that steaming orange turd. And popular vote yadda yada--there were still 62 million people who voted for him. I get really annoyed at all the speculation by the media. "Xxx candidate is predicted to beat Trump." Have you learned nothing! Quit with the speculation! Hillary was predicted to win in a landslide. People got complacent and lazy. A lot can happen between now and November. I just hope our country gets their shit together this time.
