So its ok for 45 to criticize Ginsberg and Sotomayor and nobody says a peep. Schumer makes comments about Gorsuch & Kav and all hell breaks loose. Roberts admonishes from bench, and not Mitch is condemning the remarks.

To be honest, I think Schumer's specific remarks toward the judges were ill-considered at best (which is a rarity for him). He doesn't get a pass from me on this because other people have done worse. I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen an apology from him yet.
Saying that elected officials may face push back at the ballot box, as he did, is one thing - but it's hard to read his comments toward the judiciary in that light. At least I was saddened by the transcript. He may have misspoken in the heat of his speech, and he's not the only one that's ever happened to, obviously.

Saying that elected officials may face push back at the ballot box, as he did, is one thing - but it's hard to read his comments toward the judiciary in that light. jkjacq, I totally get that reaction, and it's not right if only one 'side' gets admonished for the same bad behavior. I just wanted to be clear how extremely disappointed I am in Schumer's comments toward the judiciary - it's very hard to read them in any positive light. I don't think the admonishment was uncalled for - but I do wish others had gotten as specific an admonishment for their bad behavior.

The hypocrisy is a feature not a bug. It’s been maddening for me because I’m a super logical person and fairness is one of my core values. I can’t stand when things are out of balance. I’m starting to let it roll more because I can’t be this angry all the time, but it’s hard. I haven’t heard about Schumer’s comments so I’m off to read that now.
