Morning!
Hi from FL. No house yet...on the upside we ruled out a couple neighborhoods for sure. So now just waiting for more to come online in our target area.
We head to Orlando today and are doing swimming, a character dinner and the fireworks tonight, then MK tomorrow.
Have a good day, everyone!

MJ has a cold and we slept like crap last night. I'm exhausted. And I'm having those end of period stomach cramps. So I'm curled up with a blanket on the floor next to MJ playing.
We ran out of pull ups so J wore one of her diapers and to bed last night 😂 surprisingly it didn't leak.

Morning. School and grocery run this morning. I’m an emotional eater to the max, so I’ve gained close to 8lbs since November... Dh really wanted tacos tonight, but after that I’m trying to get back on the bandwagon. Going to see my sister’s new house this afternoon, I bought champagne & fake glasses to have a toast as soon as she opens the door for the first time .

Any of the N13 kids still nowhere near night trained...? M has been night trained for 2 years now. But honestly, I wouldn't worry about it if he isn't. There's a hormone released that stops urine production at night. I believe they say you shouldn't be concerned until they're 11.

nam2013 Here's a quote in a potty training thread from a poster that has dealt with this a lot: Unfortunately this is my area of expertise. Fortunately that may be helpful to you! 1) There are 2 kinds of enuresis (bedwetting). The first is primary enuresis. This is what almost all kids have. Not going to the bathroom at night is caused by a hormone which stops urine production at night. (This is also why during your cycle or when you're pregnant when you're hormones are fluctuating you might end up waking to go to the bathroom when other times you don't) Like all hormones, this kicks in at different times for different people, from 3 years allllllll the way to 14 or 15. So when you say "he's been doing really well" you mean it's been a short period of time right? He hasn't been dry at night for months or years? If that's true, then you're dealing with primary enuresis and there's nothing you can do about it, so throw that pullup or diaper on him at night. All the peer-"advice" you'll get, like withholding water before bedtime, or waking them pee, not only has no relation to nighttime dryness, but according to medical literature (and our pediatric urologist) is actually really dangerous (especially the with-holding water). And knowing that it's hormone production, it makes sense. You can't cause hormones to start kicking in earlier by external sources like that. And that's also why grownups can have a glass of water right before bed and not wet the bed. They're just not related. 2) So let's say that this isn't the problem, and he's actually been dry for months and months, or even years. That's secondary enuresis, and there's always a medical reason for it. The good news is, the most common medical reason is constipation. "Aha!" you say "MY child poops every day, so obviously there is no constipation." Fun fact I learned - constipation actually isn't related to how often you go, but what the stool looks like when you do go. So if your child poops every day, but the poop is a nice sold mass, or hard small lumps, congratulations! You have a constipated child! And this usually means the intestine is filled with poop, which puts pressure on the bladder and causes it to release...very often at night when the body is relaxed. So fix the poop issue, fix the pee issue. You can certainly handle this at home with Miralax, however, I'd recommend talking to your pediatrician about their advice on dosage, how long to give it, if they want you to bring the child in to check the stool burden with imaging, etc. 3) If constipation isn't the issue causing secondary enuresis, there could be a host of other medical issues ranging from a UTI to more serious things and frankly no one needs to know all the details there (although I'm happy to share with anyone concerned or going through it, since I've been there. (am there?)). But I would definitely recommend following up with your doctor if that's the case.

nam2013, S day and night trained at the same time, somehow. But he has a few IRL friends who are not night trained yet. I hear it can be up to 8 or so till their bodies wake themselves up to pee and there's not really anything you can do to change that. However, as a total contradictory tale, my BFF's son was not night trained and around 6.5 she started to talk to him about it. It turned out, it was too dark in the hallway and he was afraid to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. She put a nightlight in the hallway and just like that he was night trained... so I guess you never know what might be causing it!

Morning. DH took the day off from work so he’s doing all the school drop offs/pick ups. I have a chiro appt in an hour and then we have S’s confrence at lunch time. This whole week is supposed to be great weather so I hope by Saturday all the snow is melted in my yard and it’s pretty dry. We rescheduled S’s party for Saturday afternoon at our house. Just a casual hang letting the kids run around outside to play.

When L was not day potty trained by summer of 2017 a lot of people at work were making looks and comments. Then it just clicked for him. Like tgrimes said. Don’t stress it will come eventually.

jewels he is just knocked out after he falls a sleep, it is bizarre. If he leaks trough his pull up, I can change the bedding, put a clean pull up and pyjamas on and he will sleep trough all of it. During camping last summer, we picked the kids up during a thunderstorm, run to the car while it rained and he didn’t wake...

Also, good morning!
I went out with some mom friends from the boys' day care on Saturday and had a really nice time. I have officially decided to leave there when this school year is over and I'm mourning the loss of the community I've had there. But there are so many things I've been unhappy with for so long, I know it's the right choice for B. I told all the ladies on Saturday, so now there's no turning back.

Like I said above, don't listen to anyone who gives you a look. Just let your boy sleep. He'll wake for it eventually.

Ugh, Monday. I've got my niece's. The baby is just screaming and wants me to stand and hold her (and she's heavy...weighs more than A), A is cranky and L and the 4 year old won't let the 2 year old play with them. So today is fun.

Oh yuck. This is generally when I just break out into singing Christmas songs to reset everyone. 'OH HOLY NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" or 'YOU BETTER WATCH OUT YOU BETTER NOT CRY....'

Morning. Work today. So far it’s not too bad. Hope it stays that way. M kept asking me questions about what time he does stuff at aftercare. After I guesstimated everything, he disappeared. MH tells me later that he put a note in my lunchbox with what time to pick him up. He doesn’t like to be there too long. I do plan on going work out after work, so he may not get picked up at exactly that time. It won’t be too far off though. nam2013 M has been night trained for a while, but if he ever has to go during the night he wakes up PISSED. It took a while for us to figure out that when he wakes up so mad, it’s just that he has to go pee. He won’t say it, just cries and whines like someone took his prized possession.

tgrimes, are you sure you don't need stitches? My grandfather apparently sawed through his finger the other day. He drove himself to the ER. My mom said there was a blood trail in his house, but he was too prideful to call her or my Aunt for help. They were able to sew his finger tip back on. 6 stitches.

How do I know if I need stitches? It's currently not bleeding and the skin flap is covering it. I cannot believe your grandfather was able to drive himself!
