sammysam, i was still nursing DS1 and he was just over 2 when i got pregnant with DS2. i wasn't temping-- just checking cervical position/mucus and trying to have sex at around the right time. so i don't know exactly how long each phase of my cycle was. i got pregnant the 2nd month of trying. my very early symptoms were the same with both- breast tenderness, increased vaginal discharge, and just "feeling" pregnant. maybe you want to talk to your OB, though? as a fellow "old" person, i thought you were only supposed to try for 6 months before you went in for a checkup if you were over 35? Risscaboobs, IME with most changes involving sleep, the first 3 days or so are hellish. the rest of the first week is bad. then it starts to get better after that. is your SO the nighttime first-responder for your LO? if you're out of the picture, it might be easier for her to be consoled back to sleep. the temptation of boobies just makes it more difficult.

We bedshare, so I'm usually first responder as she's normally snuggled next to me. I gave in and nursed MOTN last night because she would not stop scream crying. I'm not sure if she had a nightmare or if her molars are bothering her again, but will try again tonight.

Risscaboobs, we bedshared with DS1 and i still made DH the first-responder when i was coaxing DS1 towards night weaning. either intentionally put LO next to your SO at the beginning of the night, or if she's in the middle, just wake SO up! not sure if you've tried this already, but if LO is totally in hysterics going cold-turkey, you might want to start by nursing for a set (short) amount of time, and then gradually reducing it until LO doesn't want to bother to wake up to nurse anymore.

vvvvvfee Thanks:) My LP seems to be getting longer so that's at least good news. I'm OOT with DD until September so I figured I'd let the summer pass and if we're still not pregnant by then I'll make an appointment. I didn't want to start the process before this as I knew I wouldn't be here...but yeah...I think a visit to my doctor is the next step.
