I'm thankful I was motivated enough to stick to my healthy eating at the shore and didn't stall out or gain any weight. I had a couple indulgences, like our ice cream date, but managed to keep up the walking and normal eating. It's tough because mil stocks up on all the goodies we don't normally buy: cookies, soda, all the breakfast meats, etc.

The toddler has eaten: 1/2 an apple, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup graham cracker goldfish, 1 cup sliced grapes, handful of dates...it's only 9:30. We're going to go so broke when he's a teenager.

I'm thankful that the Magic sleep suit is magic. Seriously, anyone struggling with sleep should try it. She's never slept more than 10 mins unswaddled flat on her back, and we got from 10:30-8:30 with wakeups at 3 and 6 just to nurse and fall right back to sleep. Awesome for 1st night IMO

Glad to hear the suit is working for you pibblemom! I had a coworker who swore by hers for both her kids. I have a feeling B is going to eat us out of house and home when he's older too Lakes. He has a hollow leg or something.

I'm back from my busy long weekend. It was fun to get away for an extended period, but it was equally as satisfying to drop both kids off at daycare today lol. Our house down the cape is coming along. There are still some things that need to be installed and we're waiting on rugs to be delivered before we can get the bulk of the furniture in. We had been camping out on air mattresses, but we actually set up real beds and a real crib for B this time.
We went down on Saturday at bedtime to avoid traffic (success), but turns out if we disturb B during his long stretch he feels the need to have a night party instead of going back down (fail). He maybe got 1.5 hrs of sleep from 2-6:30am. Not cool buddy.
We had an awesome 4th. DD had a blast at the parade. She couldn't get over the fact that people were throwing candy to her.
We topped the weekend off with a visit to my folks place to swim in the pool yesterday. The temperature is high enough now that B can go in. He LOVES splashing his hands.
I feel like the summer is zipping by. I think we already have plans for every weekend through the end of August. Oye.

pibblemom, Woo! That's so exciting!! ellabee, Your weekend sounds like it was great And agreed about summer. How is it July already??? I'm not ready for winter I'm thankful that W is such a good baby. DS1 is such a handful most of the time anymore, even when he's being nice. W is such a welcome break from him. Lol

Lakes, Good for you for sticking to your healthy changes! I really really need to get working out. I have a friend who may be coming down in October for a weekend over balloon fiesta and I haven't seen them since college. I know she won't care how I look but I know that I will care since she's been like, a pro at working out since our school days ended...unlike me.

I read a fb post about a mom who lost her 7 month old this weekend due to a blanket in the crib. I bawled like a baby and hugged my girl close. I can't even imagine what this mom is going through. **TW** this link WILL make you cry your eyes out. I think it's important to be shared though. I know I've thought about putting just a thin blanket in bed with C when she's down for a nap. I won't even think about it anymore. www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1391108250981960&id=100002483967247Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I think we have a place for E's first birthday. H's work building is owned by his company they have a gorgeous banquet room and their cafeteria staff would be willing to cater. It won't be expensive and we should be able to get a good deal too. I can't believe I am already thinking about her first birthday. I'm still trying to decide on a theme.

How awful pibblemom. It's always a good reminder, especially with a second baby when one might be more breezy about things. Ds just got his own flat pillow and blanket when we moved him to his big boy bed in December at 20 months. He still throws the blanket off the bed. For the first year only the non-wubbanub pacifier was allowed in his crib (which he quit at 4 months). At one year he got one small stuffed animal. I will happily keep my one way ticket on the baby safety anxiety train.

peaseblossom55 ahhhhh how exciting! Deciding on a theme and coordinating the decorations is my fav, i.e. My crazy Derby party for a two year old 😂. Do you have the choices whittled down? At the moment I'm digging a Winter One-derland theme for dd. Originally I wanted Alice in One-derland but mh thought it was too thematic given dd's name 🙄 I really just want to use tea cups and have little sandwiches.

1 yr birthdays?!? Omg I can't believe we're talking about these already. Time is flying by.
Also, I went all out for DDs 1st bday. I took my own cake smash photos with a homemade cake and then had a HUGE party. I also did a fingerprint "tree" guestbook keepsake. I'm sorta regretting doing all of it because now I'll feel bad if I don't do the same for B....

Hi! Today is R's 6 month appt 😬. I scheduled it during dd's nap so I should be able to just give mh the monitor and he won't have to get up, he is sleeping because he has to work tonight. As long as the appt runs on time I should even be able to swing a Starbucks drive thru on the way home! Today i am thankful that playing moana and frozen music distracts dd enough from demanding to watch the actual movie. We are on a tv fast again because after vacation and the "vacation house" she was watching way too much and it was starting to change her behavior, and not for the better.

I also can't believe it is possible we are talking about first birthdays! I didn't do much for dd's, we celebrated her birthday at a Sunday lunch at my parents, something we used to do weekly, same for her 2nd actually. The funny thing is I actually announced my pregnancy with R at her 1st birthday lunch. I recently learned that's kind of a faux pas , oh well, she didn't know. R will not have that happen to him this year, although his birthday is the day after Christmas so he will always have to deal with that.

Pretty sure that's when I conceived dd because it was during my fertile window (we did try again a couple days later). Is that worse? Happy birthday kid, we're giving you a little sister!

pibblemom, hooray for more sleep! dd was a bit better last night. I'm hoping it was just sleeping in the pnp in my room on vacation and being back in the crib nursery will make it better. *foolishly crosses fingers* but I know better and we're probably due for a rough spell. sighs. ellabee, sounds like a great holiday weekend! I cant wait unyil ds is a little older and actually gets parades. Although he was pretty excited to see the firetruck this weekend. thelittleredm, you can do it! I'm really loving the Lose It app to keep me on track. The basic version is free.

We fall into the tv-vacation house rut too meeggaannw. I've got Moana songs stuck in my head as we speak.

meeggaannw we told a few family members I was pregnant at DS's 1st birthday party and told our friends the next day. I probably would have told our parents that day but couldn't keep a secret that long (I was 11 weeks).

When does baby spit up become vomit? I fed dd around 11-11:30, she took a cat nap, now she's awake and has covered both of us in copious amounts of spit up 3 times in the last 20 minutes. She seems generally happy, no obvious fever, no changes in my diet. She had a couple good days of limited spit up and now this. The worst it's ever been. Just an off day?
I smell.

I'm thankful my husband has had some time off recently, it's been wonderful to be able to do little trips around town with someone to take each kiddo.
We are getting on the 1st birthday crazy train already!? My girls have almost the exact same birthday so we will definitely be doing R and R turn 1 and 3/Christmas/New Years.

I'm perplexed by the new forum name. I mean, I get it, but surely there were better options?

I can't decide between a Disney Princess themed party or a ballet themed party.
