Funny how kids are so different slenle. B has the F sound down pat. And uses it in place of so many other sounds (ie Spiderman = Fiderman in our house). I'll try to get him to say the right sounds and he looks at me like "That's what I'm saying mom!!"

So I'm back with my same struggles I've had for 826 years about day care /preschool.

I have finally come to the conclusion that this just is not the best place for B. It's sad b/c I've been there since S was 12 weeks old, so 6 years (almost to the day).

But it's gone so downhill. And I'm really not liking a lot of what I see in terms of how they interact with the kids. The teacher he has now is fabulous but he moves up in July (and she was out for the first half of the year on Maternity leave so it's been a rough time waiting).

There are a ton of options in my town but the one I want the most has no availability.

I applied to the town PreK but it's only half day which would require me to find a nanny for most of the rest of the day. I went to an informational session and I was blown away by it. But the logistics are not great.

There are 2 others I've narrowed it down to. I'm visiting them (again, I've seen them before) this week so hopefully I'll have a decision soon.

This is stressing me out more than it should.

I’m sorry. jewels I know how switching daycares/schools can be stressful. Is the daycare you want full now or full for next year or both? How long is the waitlist?

That sucks jewels. I'm sure it is stressful trying to find something when this has been 'home' for so long. But you know what is best for your boys and will find it.

I have accomplished exactly 0 since I got back from the gym at lunch. I have a group chat with my best friends from HS where we gossip about people we went to school with. Yesterday, this guy who was a year younger than us, posted that he was in a relationship with this really attractive women, but she wasn't tagged, just her picture. He finally shared more info today, so you could see her FB page, which was obviously just created. Her name had no social media presence when I googled it (because this is what I do), which was weird. If finally realized if I right clicked on her picture he shared, I could google it...and SHE'S A PORN STAR.

But seriously, I think someone stole this woman's pictures and is catfishing this guy. I messaged 2 people I know from school and told them to tell him to google her real name.

I don't think I said 2 words to him in HS, so it would be weird for me to bust in and crush his dream woman!

I'm sorry you're stressed jewels. It's a shame your current DC isn't what it once was. Hope you find a good spot for B.

Man, that stinks, jewels. I wonder if any of the other parents at the town preschool are in the same predicament as you and have an after class place they all use. Is there any way to reach out to a teacher or parent who could help you with that info?

Still had a 101 fever this morning. They will be going back to the doctor tomorrow if it isn’t better. His incision was looking good, this is apparently a complication from the tube in his throat during the surgery.

All of his posts about her were deleted in the time it took me to drive home. Part if me feels bad for him, because embarrassing. But part of me is like, come on...I called it yesterday, there was no way someone who looked like her, would be with him.

Which sounds shitty, but there was no way.

It’s full for both. She wouldn’t say how long the waitlist is... just that she’s call me if a spot opened up

The stomach bug has officially hit our house 😩

Sierra was fine all day at school. Excited at pick up. Laughing and running into the house. Played for 5 minutes then started puking and having diarrhea. She’s like a limp noodle now and only lifts her head to puke. Not sure if we should just see how the night goes or take her to urgent care. Problem with that is it’s an hour drive...and she’s puking every 15-20 minutes. I’m inclined to wait and see.

From what i gather most of the people in the town day care are stay at home moms or have a grandparent who stays with the kid. At the information session they even mentioned that this would be the first time many of these kids would be away from home.

I did find out I have an acquaintance I grew up with who is a pre k teacher in the district. We are Facebook friends and I reached out to her but she has responded. I know she’s not on there a lot though.

Hi!

Still in the hospital. The wound care nurse just came by to change my dressings and that was not delightful. Apparently I am stuck here at least another night.

Poor X Man fell at the house yesterday and managed to catch his eye on the edge of the stairs. Pete took him to the ER because urgent care said they were not equipped to deal with a child who needs sedation. So CHOC put him in some kind d if restraints and gave him Versed, and thankfully it only required 3 stitches.

jewels do any of the daycares in your area offer busing from the town's PreK program to aftercare? IDK if that would be more trouble than it's worth, just a thought. Down home a handful of public schools offer Pre-K thru the state's voluntary Pre-K program, so many of the daycares run after-school bus routes.

I thought about that. But B doesn’t transition all that well and it’s already going to be so hard for him to start at a new school. I just don’t think he’d do well having to then go someplace else without me bringing him there.
