For the purposes of this check-in, we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year. Questions are repeated and suggestions are appreciated!

2. How many times per day does your LO nurse?
3. Are you dealing with any BFing struggles right now?
4. Will your BFing goal be the same for any future children (or if you're extended BFing your 2nd+, did your goal change?)?

GTKY: Do you have any plans for Valentine's Day?

1. How old is your LO? 22 months

2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3-4 if we’re at home. If we’re out of the house and busy he doesn’t as much.

3. Are you dealing with any BFing struggles right now? Just trying to figure out how to start weaning. I don’t think he will be as easy as his older brother.

4. Will your BFing goal be the same for any future children (or if you're extended BFing your 2nd+, did your goal change?)? I breastfed my oldest until he was just over 2. I plan to do the same for this kid.


GTKY: Do you have any plans for Valentine's Day? H has something planned for that Saturday. I’m not sure what they are yet.

3. Are you dealing with any BFing struggles right now? I've had a cough for the last couple of weeks and had to go on prednisone last week. It absolutely decimated my supply (although I had my period concurrently so I'm sure that didn't help). DS3 was pissed at the lack of milk and was doing lots of biting. Fortunately things rebounded pretty much as soon as I stopped.
4. Will your BFing goal be the same for any future children (or if you're extended BFing your 2nd+, did your goal change?)? My goal has always been 2 years. I'm sure DS3 will happily nurse to 2 and beyond.

GTKY: Do you have any plans for Valentine's Day? Not yet. If my H can convince my in-laws to come over to watch the kids, maybe we'd be able to go out to lunch or something on Saturday. Fingers crossed.

1. How old is your LO? 13 months

2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 5-6

3. Are you dealing with any BFing struggles right now? I work night shift so I'm still pumping at work as I'm basically away from her about 24 hours at a time. I am always with her for her morning wake up feed and evening feed though. My supply has dipped some but Thabkfully I have a decent freezer stash to pull from.

4. Will your BFing goal be the same for any future children? This is my 3rd. I did self weaning with the other 2 and nursed until 18M and 2.25 years with them. I stopped pumping around 1 year with them.

Questions for other moms? Is anyone dealing with Bfing a food allergies? My daughter had reactions to egg and yogurt/cheese when starting solids around 8M. I suspected food allergies and we saw the allergist on Friday. She had a positive scratch test to egg, milk, and peanut. All 3 significant reactions. To my knowledge she has never reacted to my BM and I consume dairy and eggs regularly. I also eat nuts. The allergist recommended me cutting peanuts and tree nuts. For now they dont even recommend she eat baked egg or milk. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and also trying to navigate these allergies with a 7yo and 4yo and home!

tngrl3, i don't have any experience with food allergies, but have you talked to your pediatrician about the results from the allergist? i wonder if they might have more info/anecdotes to give you.

is it likely that she will outgrow these allergies? are they going to retest her soon?
