Weeks/Due Date - 22+2 / June 6
The Good - baby is constantly moving, my favorite thing about pregnancy. Not pregnancy related - DH picked up a new dining room cabinet that I fell in love with last week and we got rid of our old/massive/broken one. The room looks so much nicer and I smile every time I look at it.
The Bad - I'm at the point now where I'm waking up multiple times a night aching and have to readjust myself to get comfortable. So I'm quite tired. DH is also going back offshore tomorrow so I'll be on my own with the boys for the next 3 weeks.
Milestones/Appointments - next ultrasound is tomorrow. And OB on Thursday. Or is it next Thursday? I need to check my calendar.
To Do List - continue to purge my house. We did a big dump run this weekend and got rid of a bunch of stuff, and this morning I listed some things for sale and packed up a few boxes of stuff to send to my mom's for storage until we move.

Weeks/Due Date - 19w1d, 6/28
The Good - only a week and a half till my a/s!
The Bad - pelvic pain, RLP
Milestones/Appointments - I saw pt and chiro today, will see chiro again on Friday. Next Wednesday is my us and OB appt. it’s going to be the longest week and a half ever.
To Do List - new car seats (to replace the ones that were in the accident) are coming today so I need to get them installed. Then Thursday I’ll take my car in for repairs and get the rental. I also have a hair appt Wednesday. It’s going to be a busy week.

Weeks/Due Date - 22 weeks tomorrow/June 9
The Good - Still feeling pretty great, besides large.
The Bad - I've gained too much weight so far, so I'm really trying to watch what I eat. I already eat a salad for one meal everyday and exercise everyday. When I'm not pregnant, I normally keep my weight in check through really hard daily workouts and running, but I try to not have my heart rate above 140 when pregnant (since our past heart defects are unexplained), so I think the extra calories I'm not burning really add up. I'm still doing most of the same workouts, just not at the same level. I've come to dread my regular OB check ups because of the weight check.
Milestones/Appointments - Fetal echo tomorrow (I'm pretty nervous, given our history) and follow up anatomy scan Friday afternoon. School aftercare is randomly closed Friday. DH and DD are going camping. Perinatology has a policy about not bringing unsupervised kids to ultrasounds, but I know 6-year-old DS1 will be totally fine at my appointment with his tablet and headphones. What are the chances that I show up with him and they refuse to keep my appointment? Low, right? It's not like I'd bring a preschooler. I think I'm going to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.
To Do List - same stuff - potty train DS2, get a few things, find a name, figure out more work coverage stuff - but nothing urgent.

sdlaura my hospital doesn't allow children under 13 to come to your ultrasound. They will legit cancel your appointment and reschedule. I'd for sure check the policy.

Weeks/Due Date - 18+6/June 30
The Good - plan is all set up and in place for the weekly monitoring, now it's just a matter of settling the anxiety week to week. Feeling movement fairly frequently, but not consistently yet.
The Bad - my mom had a less-than ideal reaction when we told them it was a boy, and I'm still feeling kind of salty about it.
Milestones/Appointments - all the appointments all the time! Next big one is a level 2 ultrasound, the weekly MCA doppler ultrasound to check for anemia, and then my check-in with the MFM about the typical pregnancy stuff on Friday morning.
To Do List - figure out what we need to buy, and make a list.
sorry I haven't been around the past week-ish or so, it's been really busy and I haven't been feeling that energetic!!

danib this is a small radiology area in the basement of a medical office building, so not a hospital. There's just a couple techs and a perinatologist. But now you have me worried I wouldn't bring him if it was the official anatomy scan, but this appointment is just for them to try to get a couple pics they couldn't get the first time because of positioning.

Weeks/Due Date - 23 weeks/ May 30
The Good - sleeping really good lately which is amazing because I’m still getting up to pee a few times a night but able to fall back asleep quickly.
The Bad - still dealing with the pelvic pain but tried to lay low and not do much yesterday and it seemed to help as I’m not as sore today. Really itching to do more in terms of physical activity because mentally I feel great (sleep makes a huge difference!)
Milestones/Appointments - sitting at my OB appt right now waiting to go in
To Do List - I really want a britax stroller for going out when the baby is little because I do not like our graco one (it’s steering is horrible). However we have the graco car seat and it fits in to the stroller. I can buy the converter for the britax but it’s almost more financially smart to just buy the car seat stroller combo for britax but it’s a lot of $$ regardless so need to figure that out (and then convince my H)! Don’t need much for the baby as we kept everything from our son. The only thing is I really feel this baby is a girl so we’ll have additional costs later if that’s true. I got new maternity jeans this weekend and they feel so much better on my tummy. I can breathe again!

sdlaura I feel you on the weight gain. It’s really bugging me how fast it’s creeping up and it’s such a mind f to try to do everything you know that is healthy and it still goes up. I think it’s awesome you still are working out and eating healthy though. I had such a good routine going for making salads ahead of time for work lunches and then after first tri knocked my motivation and energy down I fell out of that habit so need to get back on that!

fikafairy I’m sorry you didn’t get the best response from your mom. I kind of had something similar happen last time and I was salty with my MIL for quite a while.

Weeks/Due Date - 23 weeks/May 30
The Good - I got some new maternity clothes, so I don't have to do laundry multiple times a week any more!
The Bad - I have times when walking is not comfortable. My stomach feels really tight and heavy, which I don't remember from previous pregnancies. I need to remember to ask the doctor about it at my next appointment.
Milestones/Appointments - 24 week check up next week.
To Do List - All the usual stuff - set up the nursery, go through old baby clothes, figure out what we have/need, etc. We did pick out a car seat though, so that's one less thing to worry about.

Ultrasound today was good, he even cooperated for once and didn't have me rolling around trying to get him in a good position.

Weeks/Due Date - 28 weeks/ Twins by April 16
The Good - Nothing technically bad or abnormal is happening. Movement all the time as usual. Third trimester is here, only a max of 10 weeks left before my scheduled c/s if they don't come before!
The Bad - I am so so soooo uncomfortable all the time. The 3rd tri exhaustion has hit. I can barely do one cleaning chore without getting winded and very sore. My doctor advised me to stop chores all together. Not a bedrest order but basically just walking and light cooking/wiping up as things I can do. It's crazy how much different it has been when my body is creating two babies. Sleeping is a joke. These next 10 weeks are going to be very looooong.
Milestones/Appointments - I have a FL vacation next week and my doctor is out of town for most of Feb so I don't have another appt until my 30 week check in on Feb 20. After that the appts will start being more frequent.
To Do List - The nursery is finally painted so all the furniture can be put back and organized and cribs can be put together. I need to get a hospital bag at least started since you never know with twins. My baby shower is this weekend so that should be fun!

The Good - starting to have some energy! Wooo.
The Bad - Still can’t eat much and I still throw up from time to time. I’m still losing weight too.
Milestones/Appointments - anatomy scan tomorrow! Yay!
To Do List - still need to make a “what we need” list.

Fetal echo was normal!
When we met with the cardiologist for the verdict after the ultrasound, I nearly had a heart attack because she grabbed a sheet of paper with a heart diagram on it - and I was expecting her to draw where a problem with the heart was. That’s what happened with both of our prior pregnancies with heart defects. But she said it was just out of habit and the baby’s heart looks fine!
We may have also decided on the name Benjamin while we were waiting during the appointment.

Weeks/Due Date - 22+5, June 5th
The Good - I’ve been feeling pretty good.
The Bad - I’ve been having terrible dreams that wake me up and then I can’t go back to sleep.
Milestones/Appointments - next appointment is in 2 weeks.
To Do List - Get all the bedrooms ready and move kids around so we can work on the nursery and figure out a girls name that we can both agree on.

Radley, I'm still losing weight too, although it's gotten a lot slower for me. I'm sitting around -16 from my starting weight - only good news is that because I was overweight to begin with, my MFM isn't worried since I never hit the lost 10% of my body weight threshold.

that's great news and a great name choice sdlaura!! I love that name, and unfortunately will likely never use it because the nickname sounds almost the same as my name. Plus it kind of rhymes a little with DS name, since it starts and ends with the same letters.

You guys can have some of my weight lol. I've been packing it on like crazy this month. Overall it's a reasonable amount for how far along I am, but I gained back what I lost plus a good chunk more in a pretty small timeframe. I gotta watch my treats (should be easier now that DH is gone back offshore and not bringing me home junk every day).

danib Same here as far as weight gain. I never lost any weight and have been gaining consistently since first tri. My MW hasn’t said anything about my weight gain but I am definitely gaining faster this pregnancy and need to get it under control. I mentioned it to DH so we are going to work on our eating together.

Same here danib and magaroni . My OB brought it up as "hmm, your chart says your weight has gone up by a lot since your last appointment, but you still look great." And then she said "Maybe you were here early in the day last time, or you were wearing lighter clothes?" I think it was her way of bringing it up without trying to make me feel bad. Of course I noticed on my own I've been thinking about this topic a lot lately. I looked up the primary risks of "excessive weight gain during pregnancy" and they are: -Less accurate ultrasounds -Increased discomfort -High blood pressure/preeclampsia -Gestational diabetes -A large baby -Premature labor I'm not really worried about most of this stuff. I definitely don't think I'm gaining so much weight that less accurate ultrasounds would be an issue, I still feel great and I'm working out normally (so I'm not uncomfortable), and my blood pressure has always been low to the point of every medical professional commenting on it, including during pregnancy. I gained the most weight with my third pregnancy, and that baby came the latest of my three (slightly past my due date). I've also gained more weight with each pregnancy, but my first baby (with whom I gained the least weight) was the largest by far (she was 8 lbs 9 oz while both boys were 7 pounds even). The main thing I'm a bit concerned about is the risk of gestational diabetes, since my numbers have gone up a bit with each pregnancy. I'm going to have the GTT at my next appointment in 3 weeks, and if I don't have GD, I think I'm just going to relax and stop worrying about my weight. Oh, I'm also a bit concerned about it being harder to get more weight off after the baby is born. But my babies have all had allergen issues when I'm nursing, so I end up cutting out a lot of foods and that's helped me lose most of the baby weight relatively quickly in the past.

I was overweight to start out with but I’ve definitely lost weight during the first tri (and I’m happy with that). Mostly due to a decreased appetite. I would stay I still eat less per meal/day at this point than I did before I got pregnant. I don’t stress about weight gain while pregnant though in general because I figure my body is gaining what it needs. I’ve started every pregnancy at a different weight and the last 2 times I ended up around the same weight at delivery. This time I am almost as heavy as I was at full term with the other two so I assume I’ll be heavier at the end. I’ve been lucky so far that I get back to my pre pregnancy weight about a month after my babies are born. I’m just mostly hoping this baby isn’t as big as my first, she was 9lb 3oz.

I seem to gain weight at a pretty average pace during pregnancy and I am definitely packing on the pounds this time. But I also have to remind myself that more weight is normal with double the babies/fluids, etc. On the bright side it appears to mostly just be sticking to my stomach area and not other parts of my body.

-Less accurate ultrasounds -Increased discomfort -High blood pressure/preeclampsia -Gestational diabetes -A large baby -Premature labor Hmm interesting. I'm definitely not gaining so much as to effect ultrasounds. Increased discomfort is definitely a thing, but I don't think that's totally a weight thing. Probably a combination of weight, how I carry, and my existing arthritis. Blood pressure is always low. GD has never been a concern (though with the amount of sweets DH has been giving me maybe I should keep it in mind). DS1 was 8lbs at 38 weeks and DS2 was 7lbs at 37 weeks, so I do make big babies but not like concerning big, and they do tend to come early but again not concerning early. I think my biggest concern is weight loss at the end. I only gained 5lbs more on DS2 than on DS1, yet I had a significantly harder time losing it. I know I'll have even less time to work on it, with 3 kids, so I really don't want to go overboard. This time of year really doesn't help. Like I can't even go out for a walk because the sidewalks arent really safe right now. Then being stuck inside makes me feel crappy, which in turn makes me want the unhealthiest of comfort foods and snacks.

danib I’m with you about it being harder to take off weight with each pregnancy - I think a lot of that is about age. But it makes me feel better that that shouldn’t impact the baby’s health. When researching I also found the stat that half of American women gain more than the recommended amount. And a pretty broad study I found said that women who gained more than 20 pounds over the recommended amount (so 55+ pounds for a normal weight woman) were more likely to have complications during birth. Luckily I’m not on track for that much weight. willow I think twins are a whole different ballgame. You’re lucky to only gain in your belly!
