How is everyone this morning? Hopefully all the sick kiddos yesterday are better and on their way to school today!

It was barely snowing here this morning, but you'd think we were in a blizzard, the way people were driving.
I apparently didn't get the lid screwed on tight on my 64oz water jug this morning. When I got to work, I noticed there was water on the outside of it when I took it out of my gym bag. Sure enough, my yoga pants and one tennis shoe are soaked. My sports bra is pretty darn wet. My tank top just a bit. I have everything sitting in front of space heaters currently, hoping to get it dry before lunch.

Morning! mwhip sorry for the spill! B seems to be feeling mostly better so we’re attempting to ease back into things...at speech now. Some kid just came up and grabbed a book from us that I was reading to C—mom is absorbed in her phone and oblivious. The new dishwasher was supposed to be delivered at 10 but it was moved to Friday bc the tech called out sick. I think today I will re-load my china cabinet with our regular china. Try not to be too jealous of my exciting plans.

Morning. I forgot I was training last night until I got to work. I am kind of over it since I’ve been training people so much lately. There were also about 10 emails about the coronavirus and new procedures in place. I highly doubt I’ll be coming across anyone with that through my doors but better to be safe than sorry I suppose.
Today is just a normal Wednesday. I’ll be taking S to school in a little bit, then I have a few errands. This afternoon will be dance class. I need to do some laundry at some point in-between.

Bleh.
I couldn’t sleep well last night. Right before bed, I came across a story about the Willowbrook institution in NY that was closed down and it was the stuff of nightmares.
Made me feel nauseated and sorrowful.
I need to read only fluff before I try to shut off my brain.

Madison got an invite to a birthday party that goes from 1-4 at a pool 45 minutes. It annoys me when people do stuff like this. Once when I was an older elementary school kid I was allowed to have a party at a cool skating rink in another town, but I only invited about 5 kids and my mom drove them all in the van. Three hours is a really long time for a kids party--especially when you can't just drop them off because there's no where else to go, plus the activity is swimming which we aren't comfortable not supervising the kids at this age.

I've had a blocked Eustachian tube for ~6 months now. I've just gotten used to it. I went to ENT several times and have tried different medications, etc, but nothing has worked. It's not as bad as it originally was, but I still can't bite down on my right side. It's probably going to screw up my bite. I'm reluctant to go back in because the next option might be tubes. That makes me feel like I'm 4 and I'm not sure if that would impact my medical readiness for my job. I need to check the regs.

My kid is complaining of stomach and side pain again. Guess I'll be back to dosing her with miralax again to see if that clears it up. At drop off I let her teacher know that the mysterious stomach pains are back and she said that yes, Cadence had started complaining about random things yesterday, including bawling over being punched in the stomach....um, wut? Cadence hadn't told me anything about that. She said that Cadence said someone punched her in the gut, the other kid said they were just walking by her and bumped into her....I'll talk to her about it after school today and see what happened. Who knows.

Hi I dropped my car of for service this morning and got a loaner car. I'm hoping it is ready today so I don't have to figure out transferring car seats or try to depend on MH to drop off/pick up kids. Super exciting stuff.
Otherwise, SSDD here

inthekitty, not sure if it's the same thing, but I had a sinus infection/clogged ears/awful cough etc at the beginning of the month and my ears so clogged it was driving me batty. I finally popped them about 10 days into it and now they are like mildly clogged? It's weird and I've never had anything last this long. About a week ago (after 2.5 weeks on all the sinus meds you can imagine) I stopped taking everything b/c my stomach was starting to bug me. I've noticed 0 change in how I feel so I am not going back on the meds. But I'm hoping my ears eventually clear up. Plsu, b/c of the constant clogged feeling, I'm yawning like every 2 seconds...

X and P were doing their best to try to get me to run away from home this morning. Dude, however, was a model citizen so I told him I would pick him up early. He’s so excited for our trip tomorrow, but worried about missing Pete and the babies so he’s packed lots of crayons and paper to write them love notes.

That sounds terrible, inthekitty . Is this a holdover from when you had that awful infection? That's when it started. I had an ear infection that took 3 bouts of ABX to kick and then it just never got better. Like jewels, I have to clear my ears a lot and it makes my hearing worse. But I can't clear my ears all the way. Basically the ENT said the tube isn't draining like it should and this is why some kids get tubes. He said he didn't think it'd come to that...but months later nothing has improved. I've just been avoiding it because life, but I should probably try to get a FU appt.

Morning! Chase woke up with a low-grade fever. It was slightly below daycare's threshhold and he was in good spirits so I sent him in. I would have loved to take the day to stay home with him, but I have a dentist appointment right by the office after lunch to fix a broken molar. I've already promised myself to check him when I get home tonight and keep him home tomorrow if I'm at all concerned, but I feel awful about it. There was a note about a confirmed case of flu in his class earlier this week and Col's school is ground zero - he said 6 kids were out from his class yesterday and that another first grader said there were 10 out in their class. Their classes are only about 22 kids each! And I spent November and December constantly sick, so gues who never got her flu shot? Actually speaking of, Col's best friend has been out all week so he made him a get well card last night. I absolutely love their friendships at this age and how open and expressive the boys are about their feelings. They love each other and are totally comfortable with it, it's great. Anyhow my friend L called me last night to let me know a bit about what she talked about with my Dad so I didn't feel like she was withholding from me. I wasn't planning on such an emotional chat before bed but it was probably good to stop trying to ignore my own feelings.

Morning. Ds had no school today, so I took the opportunity surprise the kids with a little trip. We took the train to a natural history museum that is very busy during school holidays and weekends. It was perfect today, my mom tagged along & we had a really great day. I love to see how ds’ mind works at places like this, he so hungry for knowledge about animals. It was the best Wednesday of his life according to him 😂. Dinner with a friend tonight .

This is so annoying, I can't imagine this going on for months. But here I am a month in and still can't clear my ears all the way! LMK what the dr says - save me the copay

I wasn't planning on such an emotional chat before bed but it was probably good to stop trying to ignore my own feelings. I agree with this- when S was sick a few weeks ago his new BFF made him a picture. It was a picture of the 2 of them playing or something and a bubble from each of them saying "I Love you R" and "I love you S". This is a new friend he just made this year and I Thought it was so sweet. I am connected on FB with the mom so I took a pic and sent it to her to show how sweet- I thought he made it at school. She said he had made it at home and that he came home both days S was out saying how upset he was that his friend was sick. So cute. S has had great friends since DC and they are all so loving but honestly they are all like family since they spent so much time together since they were babies. It's nice to see even with new kids that they are forming such nice, open bonds.

I let the kids play In the driveway while we waited for the bus. About 3 minutes before it was due, B hit a crack in the concrete and went flying...ripped his pants open (sigh), knee was bleeding, elbow of his coat had a small tear (double sigh), and he was bawling.
So I got him cleaned up, clothes changed, patched his jacket sleeve (luckily it’s navy and I had some navy iron-on patch material). Of course by this time we’ve missed the bus so I had to drive him, and drag C with us into the school (no drop-off line for afternoon session). BUT he is back at school 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I really want a mimosa right now 😂

Morning.
I’m at work today. It was busy this morning, but will be slow for the rest of the day.
M has been complaining about After-School for a few weeks now and last week he stayed in the front office playing and drawing until I picked him up. He said something about not having friends there last week, and this week he said reading time is too long and he always has the same book. I think he just likes coming home after school, but I gotta work kid. 🤷🏽♀️ I’m hoping that at the new job, I can leave in time to be able to let him ride the bus home and I can be there at the same time he is dropped off. If not, he will have to go a lot more than he is used to.

Sometimes it hurts to chew because of the swelling. Lolz. I'll let you know. Copays for just hearing "let's wait and see" has also kept me from going in. Same here with no history of prominent EIs or anything like that as a kid so I have no idea why at 37 this is happening.
