We have small lists of names we like. Once we know if baby is boy or girl we’ll look more seriously although since this is our third, we already have looked at boy/girl names multiple times. We don’t name until we see baby in person though. So we won’t know the name until June.

Bumping this to see now that we have a lot more a/s done if anyone has firmed up the names they have chosen?
We are pretty set on Halden Jens and Graham Martin. Both MNs are family names.

Our frontrunner is Benjamin Mac.
Mac is FIL's name and he's not doing awesome (he's nearly 80 years old and has some early stage dementia), so we wanted to do something to make him happy. Alexander is still our back-up.

Well, *we* have not settled on anything but *I* have kind of settled on Weston. It's the only name so far that H has not pushed back on, and it is really growing on me. The only thing that gives me pause is that our last name ends in -on too. It is not rhymey per se, just a little redundant sounding. So as long as we can get past that...
I'm thinking probably Weston Alexander.

We’re pretty much 100% set on Miles Patrick (Patrick after SO’s dad who passed a little over a year ago). SO’s family and I have been referring to him as Milo so I’m thinking the nickname will stick.

I love talking names! When I saw this come up I started liking everyone name ideas then realized it was from January so I’m sorry for all the notifications haha. Boy names are so hard for us!! DS was hard to name because every boy name I liked reminded H of a guy he he couldn’t stand growing up or other reasons why or he could make fun of it. Every name he liked was an ex bf or someone I couldn’t stand (I didn’t date that many guys haha!). So we literally had one name we both agreed on and when he came out we agreed that was his name.
Now for this one we love Claire Elizabeth for a girl (pretty sure that’s what it will end up being if it’s a girl) but other girl names we like are Micah, Amelia, Holland, Hannah, Reese. Still not 100% sure of the middle name, I like names with family ties and Elizabeth we just like but no connection.
For a boy hahaha that’s hard since we used the only name we liked with DS! I like Eli David and am trying to get H to say that’s our choice but he won’t 🤷♀️. He’ll usually say he likes it better than any other name I’m suggesting lol. I also like Oliver, Holden, Avery, Beck, Crosby and David. H doesn’t like any of those haha. Especially Avery, which I love for a boy but it has flipped to a more common girl name. I said if you don’t even offer any suggestions you don’t really get to veto mine! It will probably end up being Eli.

aries I have always liked Eli and it can be a nickname for so many other names if you wanted a longer formal name. What about Micah for a boy? I’ve actually only ever seen it on a boy so that could be an option if you liked it otherwise.

I think we are set on Theo.dore Bronx. Bronx is not anywhere near my style but it’s where MH is from and a way to honour his family/heritage because there are no other family names that are acceptable. I’ve come to peace with it because he’s been asking for 6 years, haha.

hangry I honestly don’t think anyone usually cares about/remembers the middle name beyond the birth announcement!

We know its a girl but we'll still wait to name her until we see her. We have several names though so I'm concerned that we won't be able to settle on a name easily, which is silly because we have never had trouble picking a name once we saw the baby in the past.

aries DS is Eli Thomas. We struggled about whether to name him a longer version with Eli as a nn but didn’t love any of the longer names so be is “just” Eli.

magaroni that’s awesome your DS has that name. I do love it! How old is he? Is it that popular in your area? I honestly don’t know many longer names for Eli as nn besides Elijah and Elliot? What are some other ones?

My DS is 4 also, but I don't really know any Eli's in his age group, a few older than him though. But that's good too, I like names that aren't too unusual but that aren't too popular. I didn't even think of Elias - I like that too! My DH likes Elias Petterson the hockey player (loves the Canucks) but that would be weird if we had the same name as him, since it would look like we named him after the hockey player haha! I don't like Crosby because of Sidney Crosby, but I loved it on Crosby (Parenthood the TV show) but also wondered if it would seem we named his after the hockey player lol.

The long Eli names names that come to mind are Elias and Elijah. I’ve even heard of Elliot shortened to Eli.

We did want to keep with a "western" sounding name so my current name love is (subject to change of course if I find something else, ha!)... Sawyer Cole. Thoughts?

DH is suggesting only names of German origin, so we've got a lot of different options that you don't usually hear around us for young people. He did suggest Josephine, which I actually really like so that may be a real option. Unfortunately, I thought we were going to use Jane (part of both of our mom's names) for the MN, so that may be too many J's in a row. I don't know.

I don’t know what other western sounding names you’ve considered but other options: Wyatt Wesley Parker Brandt

I know a lot of ranchers with that name, so that's probably why.

He was one of my favorite characters.
