Sushi last night was a lot of fun. I'm hoping we can do make that a regular thing. Best of all, I got home at 9 so I didn't have to mess with bedtime!

Morning. I don’t know if I mentioned but S is star of the week, but since she didn’t go Monday I have to bring everything back today. Of course I didn’t get pictures printed yet so I sent them to Walgreens and I’m crossing my fingers they are done before we need to leave. I hate it when teachers give me homework.

Rainy day over here. I'm bogged down at work. Seems like every attorney had 2 opinions for me to read yesterday and so today I have to finish the ones I didn't get to yesterday.
Cadence has a field trip to a jumpy place with her aftercare today. She's pretty excited.

Has anyone started looking into summer camps and such for their N13s? Registration starts early February for most of them here. I don't want Cadence to go back to her old daycare, so instead I'm finding different day camps for each week that would be similar in cost. However, most are half day so I have to pay an extra 100/wk for extended care.

It's basically the same place she used to be but on the other side of the property. She loved it over winter break. I may send her to zoo camp for 1 week but it's expensive and I wouldn't be able to drop her off or pick her up without being late to work or leaving early. The girls last night were peer pressuring me into doing it and then we'd all take turns taking or picking up all 3 kids. We'll see. The other camps around here that are any good are $$$$ and then you have to add in before/after care. I just can't afford it.

Her current extend-a-care program after school has summer camps, but they are in different locations than her school, so I'm still trying to decide if I pick a location near work or near home.

I have successfully turned MH from a grouchy Ursula into a singing-with-the-animals Disney princess. He used to eye-roll about Disney, but he's excited about the trip too. I was able to book our flights and got them cheap, and with points on our credit card it might end up being an almost free vacation--the best kind. We've always surprised the girls, but it's fun to be able to talk to them about it. I needed something to look forward to so I'm living for this.
Otherwise SSDD around here.

S is going back to the Y camp he went to last year. 3 of his closest friends go so he's pretty happy about it and they run an extended day. They have a regular camp that's just generic stuff and then they have random weeks of specialty camps you can sign up for like cooking camp, sports camp, etc. We did the regular camp and sports camp for 2 weeks. Most of the nicer day camps around here are like a mortgage payment per week. So we will probably wait till he's a bit older to look into those and keep him at the Y for the forseeable future. Bonus is it's the same program that he goes to on days school is closed so he already knows the routine, etc.

It's the most economical option and he will know some of the counselors and hopefully some friends. I looked at some camps in the city and most are crazy priced and would be on me to get all 3 kids by 6, which is a bit aggressive.

I probably won’t start to plan it out and pay until March. I should know more about my work schedule from week to week then.

Summer camp for us is going to be the school’s aftercare program. He went last year and enjoyed it, plus got some cheap trophy for being the best behaved and I swear it’s his prized possession. He keeps talking about going back so he can get another one. It’s the same price as the aftercare program ($450/month).
He was giving me a hard time at home at that point so I was pretty surprised and wondered what manner of sorcery made that happen.
His competitive nature is not so terrible in this instance.🤷♀️
They won’t take X yet since you have to be K-6, so even though he goes to the same school he needs other arrangements. It’s looking like he will stay at DC with Sparky.

I cannot wait until my precious heathens are out of diapers.
After the thrashing about they did this morning, I’m confident I would excel at alligator wrestling. A giant reptile who emerged from the primordial soup has nothing on these toddlers.

Morning.
I’m at work. I forgot my phone and didn’t realize it until 20 minutes after I got to work. MH was dropping the kids off and had time to go back for it and bring it to me. So grateful because it would be so boring here without it. We’re kind of slow here today.
Post nasal drip has set in and I’m trying to fight off a cold before it sets in. Chugging Vit C and medicating all day long.

S was a giant pain in the ass this morning. I don’t know what her deal is but it seems like since Christmas break she’s been fighting going to school. I don’t like starting my day out like that. I went to Marshall’s after dropping her off and found some good stuff. They did have the $20 car seats but I decided not to buy them today, I’m sure they’ll have them next time I go. They had the most adorable baby/toddler girls clothes. I wish I knew what this baby was already because I have so many urges to shop for baby clothes. I will need to get a bunch of newborn stuff regardless of sex because the fleece sleepers aren’t going to work in the middle of summer.

Morning! Spot on with the gifs as per inthekitty, so many great ones with Dan Levy. The new season of Schitts Creek is so great, I've missed the Rose family. It's snowing like crazy here, but it's gorgeous and not cold so it's fine. I'll have to shovel for sure after the kids go down but that'll be my workout today. Work is meh lately, I'm trying to stay motivated but feel the need for something more, then remember that my home life is chaos and need some boring in my life....blah.

I started the period from hell last night, four days early... The cramps are awfull & I’ve leaked trough twice. I feel like I’m 13 again. My mom gave me a shoulder to cry on this morning and I’m allowing myself to wallow, drink wine and eat cake tonight. Back to normal tomorrow.
It’s my sister’s birthday in a little over two weeks, I made a package with the kids, letters, pictures, sweets, a mini balloon, a new waterbottle etc. The kids had fun putting it together.

So I get an email from Bitchy the Office Manager saying she needs to see me to talk about my vacation hours. I have none, I'm negative, it's never been an issue. Well, apparently it was talked about in the business meeting this morning. Then one of the partners is in our office asking if he can see staff for a minute(there only 4 of us) and discusses vacation time. Saying we all need to keep an eye on it and blah blah blah. Two of us have school aged kids, so shit comes up, days off from school, etc. We have no other options other than to take the day off to care for them. He says its not a big deal, to just keep an eye on it. Cool. But still makes me a little twitchy because the "policy" has always been, "if you need it take it, we understand". So I get back to my desk and respond to bitchy's email with a hey, just talked to partner about it, do you still need to see me? All hell breaks loose.
She's pissed she wasn't included in said "meeting"(although, from what I was told they ended the business meeting with partner will be talking casually with staff about it). I leave my office to go talk to the same partner about some concerns I have. Come back to my desk and my officemate is crying. Apparently, bitchy came in here and started yelling at her that if we're pissed about something then we need to tell her and officemate was like, "well, actually, you're acting like you're pissed at us" Bitchy yelling ensues about her just doing her job and blah blah blah. Officemate then has to ask her a program questions and gets her head bit off even more for not knowing how to do her job. I almost went up to Bitchy's office to give her a piece of my mind, but chose not to get fired today and went to a partner instead. I've talked to him about Bitchy's irate behavior before, so I felt like it was a better option.
TL;DR: Office manager is on a rampage and making people cry.....again.

trtlcrzy, chick is psycho. Possibly, but then my bills wouldn't get paid. The school has 29 days off this school year. I don't even make 29 days worth of vacation hours in a year. Luckily, mh covered the Christmas break, but he'll probably not want to do that every year. Who knows.

Hugs nam2013. I’m sorry the last couple months have been kinda crummy with regards to all this. Hang in there <3 Well done on the gifs inthekitty. Interesting about Gymboree. I didn’t like the ‘new’ Gymboree so I’m curious to see what their look is now. J&J has stayed pretty consistent since they were bought by Gap but it’s pricey so I don’t shop there a ton.
