Hi, I'm also wandering over from the cloth diaper board. We started homeschooling for the 2018-2019 school year and now I've got two I'm officially schooling (although, apparently, I didn't need to give notice for my 5 year old, oh well) and a toddler bothering us too. We're in OH and loosely following the classical model.

Hi and welcome!
We kinda sorta follow the classical model for history and lit. I’m a Susan Wise Bauer fan girl and have a field trip to her farm planned for spring.

Hi! Welcome. I’ve also got a 5 year old that we added on to schooling this year. But mostly for her we’re just working on learning to read.

We have Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Ohio represented in the group: anywhere else? I’m in VA but there’s a good chance that’ll change to IA, NE, or MO in the next couple of years.

I’m in Ohio and most likely will be homeschooling my then 7th grader. The more research I do the more confident I’m becoming in my decision. We’re getting our feet wet this year as I’m having him do some trials to see what may work for us.

I miss it so much, and my SSs will be in college then so we can go anywhere. Maybe I’ll change my mind by then, but I want to be back. Plus Wisconsin doesn’t allow for dual enrollment for homeschoolers. So I’m playing the long game lol.

I read Well Trained Mind and wish I were that organized and my kids were that compliant. I'm going to add in more LA curriculum from the WTM press next year. We already do more subjects more consistently this year than we did last year. But I'm not doing as many binders as she suggests.
We just have one binder with math mammoth (I print each section as needed, if the kid can do the chapter review, we don't bother with the chapter, and if he wants more geometry, I print geometry.) Then one binder that serves as a commonplace book, holding anything else they write or draw from any subject. I date every page so we at least have some record when we meet to do the end of year evaluation.
