I want to try and do a sort of power hour of decluttering every day to see what can leave the house. In the last 3 weeks I have taken at least 15 trash bags full of stuff (toys/shoes/clothes) to the “free” store in town. It’s been a wonderful feeling to get it out of the house! I have 2 more waiting by the door to go next! Plus I have also sent at least 4 bags of Sierra’s clothes and shoes to a friend.

I’m pretty quick with bringing it to the thrift store – usually within a day or two of bagging it up and putting it in my car, but I struggle the most with the clothes that I am giving to my best friend from Josie because we don’t see each other often enough. I try to keep those in a big Rubbermaid container in the basement and then just throw it in the car tonight before I know we’re getting together.

The stuff I pass on sticks around the house longer too. I currently have 1 bag and 1 box with stuff in it. I was going to have MH take it to work today to pass on (the H works for MH) but then something happened last night and MH is not very happy with his employee right now. It’s not a pretty scene. And the dynamic has shifted greatly. This was his “go-to” guy. And now because of his actions, I don’t know that things can be repaired there. So I might be stuck with this stuff until I see the wife...because I don’t think MH even wants to be in the same room with this guy...at least for a while.

Feel better tgrimes guster and jewels ! Guster, I like your idea of the 'power hour' of decluttering...makes it more manageable. I should try that. Your poor H nam2013 , hope the ABX take care of it. Crazy how something seemingly insignificant can morph into a big issue vino Very sweet how protective your B is of J. My B reminds me of yours. We haven't done a long deployment yet, obviously, but I know I can count on (my) B whenever mH is gone. Also, hi! Busy morning with speech, grocery pick-up, and a trip to Dillards to return a couple things from Xmas. I've been on the phone and DH just came in for what I thought was a lunch break, but he changed into shorts so guess he is here for good.

Allergies are a bitch right now for both Cadence and myself. She slept in my bed again last night because she was crying at 2:30 because mh wouldn't sleep with her, so I told her to come to my bed. It's a bad habit, but at 2am the only thing I'm trying to do is sleep. Would it be bad of me to tell her if she doesn't sleep all night in her room by herself then she can't have the tablet at all the next day? She has no legitimate reasoning behind her not sleeping, her room is too dark, we get a brighter nightlight, now there's too much light, her nose is stuffed up, she is seeing shadows, etc. etc. I don't actually know how long this has been going on, since mh doesn't tell me every time he goes in there at night. But, her coming to bed with me started after she came home from Grandma's and she "couldn't get used to our house". *insert eye roll* I can get behind that bribe. To get H to stay in her bed I bribed her that if she stayed in her bed every night for 7 nights that we could go to the indoor swimming pool. It did work eventually, she had a couple hiccups in the beginning and every time she came to our room her days started over. Now she sleeps in her room all night 90% of the time.

I was reading TB vs HIH thread. Do any of y'all remember the poster that would occasionally come on N13? She didn't have kids and wrote erotica on the side or something? Yes. I can’t remember her name but her avatar was a picture of a globe I think.

Hey. Both kids went to school this morning and I ran to the mall for an exchange before picking S up. My house is a disaster and needs to be cleaned but I haven’t worked up the energy to do it yet. I still have this dang fever. If it’s not gone by Wednesday I’m going to message my OB about it because it’s getting old. nam2013 I hope YH is healed up quickly! jewels I hope the meds kick in quickly

Got an email that my tickets were ready to view. I had no idea what it was talking about. Apparently back in Sept. I ordered tickets for Cadence and I to go see Trolls Live. Good thing they sent me a reminder and it's not until Feb. 1, but I had completely forgotten about them.

Waiting to hear back from mh who had to take one of our cats to the vet. Normally, I would do it myself, but I just don't have the time to take from work, since I'm coming in late the next 3 days and the office manager's response to me needing to leave early Friday makes me want to tread lightly where she's concerned. Plus, it is technically "his" cat. Anyway, I noticed yesterday afternoon his(the cat) face was slightly swollen under his nose and there was mucus coming out of his mouth. I looked in his mouth to see if he had injured himself in any way and didn't see any injuries, there was a small scrape on his tongue, but that was it. He just wanted to be left alone and he came out later in the evening for attention. Then this morning I noticed he had blood like discharge coming out of his nose. I don't know what's going on, but knew he needed to go to the vet. So now I'm impatiently waiting, because unlike me, mh doesn't text every few minutes with updates throughout appointments. Fingers crossed it is something easy because we have to take Dickens to the specialist tomorrow and I know that's going to be $$$. Why can't things happen one at a time and few and far between? Ugh.

nam2013 Well that escalated quickly! Hopefully the abx take are of it!! jewels I make MH sleep with the puker either in our bed or the living room. He never catches the stomach bug (jealous!) so that his duty when he’s home. Then I clean/wash everything the following day.

So many moms not feeling well today...I hope everyone feels better soon!
My level of annoyance is super high today. I have meetings on my calendar every day this week, from 8am to 3pm. The meetings today, I was not needed in, nothing pertained to me, at all. My boss was also in the meetings and was pissed. She was supposed to send an email to the guy who organized them and tell him he needs to re-evaluate who he wants in the meetins, so as not to waste people time. Hopefully I can get out of them.

Today in: As The Rental House Turns...
The latch/release to our dishwasher broke over the weekend. We can still use it, but I reported it to the property manager mostly to cover our rear-ends for move-out and marked it as 'low priority'.
This morning we get a message that it's been assigned to an appliance repair company; we heard from them a few hours later and scheduled an appt. for Wednesday.
So...moral of the story, if an issue is urgent/a near-emergency/unusable, a safety hazard, etc...you're SOL and will beat your head against the wall for months trying to get a reply. But something that very clearly was 'just a heads up' gets instantaneous results. Go. Figure.

Well, the x-rays were to make sure he hadn't eaten anything that had caused the ulcers. I've also learned to not let mh go to these appointments because he does not relay information well and doesn't ask the right questions.

Hi hi - did a quick skim through. I woke up to n puking in my bed seconds after I put K down. It was all water but kept her home and she's been eating all day..so it will be 24 hours after her last puke, so we will be at school tomorrow! As much fun as trying to work with a sick kid, a fussy baby, and a quasi helpful MIL, I'm anxious to get the f out of here.
In other news, I scored my oxo sprout highchair I've been scouring Facebook marketplace for🙌 I love this chair for N and it matches our table/floor perfectly. So I'm pumped to have matching one for k (my niece still uses the toddler chair part at 5).
And I am itching to clean/purge. I am prepping a big donation trip. I also have started following cleanmama and simplified on Instagram and both have decluttering challenges going on. I also very much enjoy the home edit on IG, I want to get the book. Her stories are hysterical too.

jewels clogged ears are the worst. I had one for like 3 weeks in December with no other symptoms and I felt like I was struggling at work because of it. I’m also fighting a cold. I started my diet/exercise again this morning but I fear I’m going to already be a dropout from not feeling great. I can’t get back in the mindset I was in in 2017 when I lost those 20 pounds. I think I need to do some bikini photos tomorrow for myself. I’ve also lost motivation for my classes. I blew through the last one in 8 days and can barely read a sentence of my new one.

I wouldn’t have been able to keep myself from sending a message back about how late it is if I got one that late. Super rude.

My mom always taught us never to call anyone before 9 am or after 9 pm. Now that I’m old, I don’t call/text anyone after 8/8:30 and even then I text them earlier in the day to let them know I cannot get back to them until that time. If it’s a close friend who is familiar enough with my schedule to know I’m up at 5 am, go for it, call me, text me early in the morning, IDC. Strangers? NO.

IDK I'm not that scandalized by the 11.15pm text. I mean, it's not ideal but I can sympathize with someone who is trying to cross things off the list, especially when it has to do with a kids birthday. ::shruggy guy::
