Also, I'm a little pissed at something the S told me the other day. Tell me if I am over reacting.
Last week she tested S to see what reading level he was on and let him bring home books in his level. She took a picture of him carrying the books and sent it to me in the app to let me know. I thanked her and that was it.
Around 7 PM she messages me and asks how he did with them, which I thought was sweet. I messaged her back saying we don't get home till after 6, so he had read through 1 while I was getting dinner together and he planned to read the rest before bed. I then sent a pic of him reading the books to me in bed at around 8:30 with the caption "He's doing great - reading them to me as we speak".
Monday when I picked up, S says to me "why did you tell my teacher I get picked up at 6?" I didn't recall at first what he might be talking about. Upon asking follow up questions, I found out the convo was as follows:
Teacher: S, what time do you get picked up at after care?
S: 6:00
T: every day?
S: Yes
T: Aren't you tired?
S: Yes
That evening S told me he couldn't walk in to DC to get B b/c he was too tired. You know how little minds pick up suggestions like that.
He's been in DC since he was 3 months old and used to be 7:45 - 6:30. Now he gets dropped off at 8:25 and picked up at 6:00 so it's a shorter day than he had as a baby. And shit, that's life lady! She has kids and obviously works, you'd think she'd understand!
TL/DR - I think my kid's teacher made a snarky/judgey comment towards how long my kid is in aftercare and I'm annoyed.

Oh and did I mention I found out Bs allergists is also an immunologist. We have an appt in 2 weeks and I am going to discuss a full work up tgrimes cagoldi anyone else... I welcome any advice about what to ask for! IME, and according to my immunologist, and Allergist/immunologist is not usually trained well enough in immunology to look for immunodeficiencies. So, if you’re concerned about that with B I would certainly ask, but if you feel like you’re being dismissed I would absolutely find a doctor who treats Immunological issues exclusively. Glad he’s feeling better at the moment! Thank you - I had gotten a referral for an immunologist from my pedi but then saw this and I love his allergist. I will start with him but definitely go elsewhere if I don't think I am getting anywhere. |

Immunoglobulin levels: IgG IgM & IgA Streptococcus titers Possibly T cells - H's test was called T, B, & NK Cell Basic If his strep titers are low, they can revaccinate with the prevnar or pneumovax and test again in 30 days. This will tell them how is immune system is working. H had a good response to the vaccine, but now his levels are at or below where they were before we re-vaccinated him. thanks! When do you start medical school?!? Ha ha ha! People I work with always tell me I should go to law school (since I pretty much have been doing our attorney's job for years now) and my friends that know all of H's issues tell me I should go to med school to become an ENT. I have no desire to go back to school. I applaud the ladies here that are doing it, but I just don't have it in me. |

Good luck at your interview lahdeedah!! Poor S lfig  Hopefully the puking was a one off and no one else gets sick jewelsjoelies. Ya we are headed for a deep freeze week starting Saturday, not looking forward to it, especially because it complicates my logistics and commute on work days, ugh. |

Mine had to look up how to do it since it's not sonething they usually order, but at least I had the initial results before seeing the immunologist. The t-cell labs would probably be run later by the immunologist, if needed. |

That teacher can fuck right off with that nonsense jewels. I’d be sending an email without a doubt to the tune of: I understand there was some discussion with my son regarding his daycare day and the time he gets picked up, although I appreciate the concern of his well being and specifically if he is tired please know that the comment has affected the way he looks at his day. Although we understand, as adults, that the day is long his father and I put an effort on the positives of being in daycare, being with his friends etc and I’d appreciate if your message was the same. Hi! Long day at work. Heard a lot of messed up situations kids are in, my goodness. Makes you realise how lucky you were as a kid and how lucky your own kids are. Bites and drinks with a friend tonight, looking forward to it.

Sparky and X were hanging off of me like frightened baboons this morning. I was walking with one toddler wrapped around each leg.
When I was in X’s class sitting with him to give him a minute to transition and find an activity, one of his classmates brought me a book to read to her and sat in my lap. I wish I could stay in there all day with them. They’re all such big sweethearts, and so smart. She is nonverbal and I have never seen her sign, either, but she’s good at communicating what she wants.

I took an early morning trip to Target with Charlie to pick up some jeans for him.
Just hanging here going through baskets of pajamas while Charlie plays Paw Patrol.
MH has a dinner with our former principal (he’s the headmaster of a private school in a nearby town now) and the curriculum head for that school. They go out maybe two or three times a year and always try to poach him, but he can’t leave New York and the retirement system!

The interview went well. Of course, after leaving I start to think about the conversation more and I’m a tad confused on what he is actually looking for. It sounds like he wants someone to work a lot, but he didn’t make it part-time or full time, so idk. I told him what I’m looking for and would be available for and to call me if he had any questions.
I guess I can ask if he does call me.
I’m now treating myself to Indian for lunch. So good. Why haven’t I tried Indian sooner? The flavors are amazing.

On the topic of aftercare, yesterday j came home saying he was playing Wii and talking about how to win and it sounded violent...mh looked up games and he thinks it's a teen rated Mario game. Should I be that mom and mention it? I really don't care if he gets to play there since we don't have it at home, bit expected like age appropriate games.
Also he joined the bball team and they had a game and he said he had to watch bc they didn't have enough jerseys. I asked the coach today and he said they are getting more today, so hoping he gets to play some. Granted if he's like me, he better get used to riding the bench😂.
And last but not least, I booked a vacation for the last week of the summer for just our family. I feel guilty that I'm not inviting others to join us or rent a place together, but I think it's for the best for us to enjoy vacation and not manage extended family dynamics. Also my credit card needs to be frozen for the foreseeable future.

A guy is here to clean our dryer vent and I let him know we have a rabbit, just so he doesn’t get freaked out if he hears or sees a furry creature scamper by.
Wish I had a photo of the look on his face as he asked me if the rabbit runs free. You would swear I told him there’s a Sasquatch in the house.

I went for the lunch buffet so I could try a few dishes. The chicken biriyani, chicken tikka masala, and these lentil puffs were my favorite. I’m stuffed. |
