Did 6km this morning, half of which was on the beach.

2 miles today. Legs felt great at the start and miserable by the end.
Also, we got our monthly EOB today. In case you're curious, it was 16 pages long, 15.5 of which were DD2. She's racked up over $193K in charges because of her hand 😬 thank God we have good insurance.

1.75 today. First time I've run less than two miles in like, I don't know, a year? My legs are dying.

2.75 miles gives me 15 for the month and I'm tapping out. My legs can't do it anymore. Happy miles ladies, catch you in a couple months!

4k this morning. We're having a heat wave right now, so it was hot and sticky. And it's projected to last until next week, after his virtual 10k.
I'm also going to look into signing up for the virtual Seawheeze 10k today. I mean, if I'm "running" with him anyway....

I’m struggling with a decision. There’s a local trail half that I had been planning to sign up for since the race announced that they we’re adding that distance (the original/main is 50k). But my left hip flexor is flailing up again after I thought it was better and my area is seeing a sharp increase in covid cases. The race has a cap but still- I remember being pretty close to the other runners for the first mile or so of the last trail race I did.
Also, the race is in the beginning of October, so I'd have 7 weeks to prepare. I know one of the loops well and was going out there frequently about mid-quarantine for 5-7 mile runs. I know it's a tough trail, but also doable. Plus it's close to home, so that's good. I have until Sept 30, assuming the spots aren't all snatched up before then. Stupid covid and stupid hip.

sewfi2 all the local trail races by me have been canceled through October - mostly because the state parks won't allow organized events and the race coordinators don't want to have to find volunteers with only a few weeks if they do start allowing it. I'd be more concerned about your hip than anything covid related though. Especially with a trail run where you're kind of on your own for a lot of it. (Which is definitely the best part of trail races!)

4k with the kid. Signed up for Seawheeze, but I also signed the 2 of us for virtual covid charity race so we could have a medal to memorialize this whole period of time.
So this will be the summer/fall of virtual races - 6 in all!

Y'all we did it! 10k! And miraculously it only took us an hour and 20 minutes! (I think Strava messed up a bit on the mileage, but I'll take it since it was already 73° before 6am when we headed out with 52% humidity and we don't need to be out extra during this heatwave - it's already 91° at 9:30!)
He's so proud of himself and I'm pretty proud of him too since he's never run more than 5k before today. I gave him some Sport Beans after we hit 5k and he thought that was the best thing ever.

Kid decided we should do our virtual 5k this morning. At 8am. During a heat wave. He was great on the way out, but too spent to run home, so we walk/ran the second half. (I made him run through sunny areas and walk whenever we go to a shady patch)

Today will be day 114 of my streak. I still have a little tightness in my left quad, but my hip issue has been gone for maybe 4 days now, so I'm planning to slowly upping the daily mileage again (I had dropped down to 1-2 miles/day vs the 3-7 miles I had been doing).
Saturday night I took the kid out in her stroller for the first time in months. I was literally just about to post it on fb to see if anyone wanted it since I thought she was over it. I had mentioned to her a while back that there's always a couple of cats that hang out at night outside a little barber shop that's about a mile away and she insisted that she wanted to "go for a night run" to see them. So we did and thankfully one was there, chilling in the parking lot. That really made her night, but now she wants to do it again. She did a good job holding onto a light so I could see the sidewalk/be visible to cars (plus her stroller has reflective stuff on it), so I may start taking her out now that it seems to be getting dark a little earlier.

5km with DD on the bicycle. It was very slow and easy since she wanted to stop and look at everything.
