We’re hosting on the second day of Christmas (yes we have two days of Christmas in Holland ) and putting out a huge spread of appetizers for dinner; - cheeses - charcuterie - bruschetta - stuffed mushrooms - stuffing meatballs & cranberry sauce - mini quiches - fresh figs with goats cheese - flatbread & baguettes - spreads, dips & garlic butter - artichokes, peppers & olives We’ve delegated what everybody brings & aunt is making tiramisu for desert .

Oooh I need this thread. I’ve been trying to think of appetizers for Christmas Eve/day and coming up blank. Please share go to apps as well!
Everything I think I want I don’t think MH or family would be too thrilled about. Like bacon wrapped dates, cold cheese apps, Brie, bruschetta. I can probably get away with one of those, but I need to make a few things they will eat, too.

Christmas Eve is all fish and seafood. It’s one of my favorite meals of the year. I offered to bring truffles for dessert.
I am foregoing the casserole for Christmas breakfast because I find that the kids aren’t really eating it as much and bought a ton of berries, lox and cream cheese, and when I head back to Westchester I’ll pick up bagels to bring back with me.
Christmas Day it’s just the four of us so I’m going with a steakhouse theme. We’ll do shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, iceberg wedge salads, filet mignon and a fillet of salmon for our proteins, creamed spinach and roasted potatoes as our sides, and hot fudge brownie sundaes for dessert. I’m excited for the simplicity of it.

guster I love love love everything you described, I want to join you guys! Thanks! The only thing I don’t really like about the menu is that I have to cook everything actually on Christmas day but it shouldn’t be too time-consuming. I’m going to cut and par boil the potatoes tonight and bake the brownies tomorrow morning.

I have cooked Christmas Day the last two years and don’t like the effort and cleaning I have to do the day of with breakfast and then a meal.

We're going to be on our own this year for Christmas dinner so I need to figure this out. My in laws and SIL/BIL will be going to the Hotel Galvez again. We were invited but last year was not delightful so I told MH we weren't doing that again. I really hope that doesn't turn into a tradition because I liked our previous tradition of just going to my in laws after opening presents at our house, drinking all day, being lazy and then eating a nice dinner around 4ish.
Stupid BIL's dad ruining this for me. Lol.

We are having DH’s dad and brother with his wife and 4 kids here (the kids are 18-24 so really all adults). We are doing Prime Rib, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad and lasagna.
Dessert will be Christmas cookies and I will probably make a chocolate pie. My Christmas fudge came out the best in years today too.

I’m late, but brunch consisted of waffles, fruit salad, bacon, scrambled eggs, cinnamon rolls, mimosas, and sparkling cider.
Appetizers:
Cheese and cracker plate, meatballs, oranges
Dinner: Parker house rolls, arugula salad with pear, pecans, Gorgonzola, pickled onions, and balsamic, HoneyBaked ham, sautéed green beans, garlic mashed potatoes, baked Mac and cheese.
Dessert: fudge, shortbread cookies, poke cake, apple pie
