I'm home with Cadence all week. She woke me up early to play. Not cool kid.
We need to do laundry and grocery shop today since I didn't do shit yesterday. Yippee.

Morning.
Heading into work now on the bus, of course there’s a loud talker on her phone. I want to grab it, open a window and toss it out in a very dramatic fashion, all while keeping eye contact with her of course.
Weekend was good, my Mom took the kids overnight so i went out to dinner and a movie with a friend! It was incredible to go out, it’s been so long. Then I went and spent all my money Christmas shopping yesterday morning, it was a successful trip and I think the rest of the stuff is in my amazon cart which I’ll order when MH is back so he can grab the packages.

I laughed at “didn’t do shit yesterday”. Same girl, same. The thanksgiving meal “itis” is real. After I ate my mini Thanksgiving lunch, I was no good for the rest of the day.

Morning! I officially have a 6 year old, which is bananas. I started off the day by reading to his class, which was so cool, since I never get to see what goes on in there. He loved it and I'm so glad I did it! Now I am at work and just hoping the day goes quickly. How are you feeling today flamingo? I've never heard of the option to get a shot instead of a course of antibiotics. Why wouldn't everyone choose that, it sounds fabulous!

We are hosting Thanksgiving and have done nothing to start prepping. Not even made our menu yet. Thankfully it's just my parents and my BFF and her family. But still. We need to get on that.

Morning.
I’m at work. M2 is at daycare and M is home with my mom. Hoping to finalize our Disney plans today or tomorrow. I need to book flights ASAP. We’re two weeks out!

Morning. Both girls are at school and I’m working on laundry and cleaning my disaster house. I’m also super congested so that makes me more out of breath than usual. H has dress rehearsals for the nutcracker this afternoon so immediately after she gets home I have to get her ready, including makeup. All they want is pink blush and black mascara so it’s not too bad. Not sure how this will go.

Thanks so much for thinking of me, I am feeling much better. Not 100% but fever is gone and the sore throat is very manageable. Yes I’d never heard of getting the shot either, but I’m a fan! They do it in your hip so I’m a bit sore there this a.m., but I’d much rather do that than try to remember to take pills for 10 days. Happy birthday to your big 6 y.o!

I was up through the night in pain and feeling sick. It was worse this morning. M is being very sweet and taking care of me. MJ just fell asleep so I need to lay her down and muster some energy to make the boys lunch. Then get M on the bus.
I feel like I may have a touch of the flu but also unrelated pain. The last 3 days my pelvis and hip bones hurt. Like bringing me to tears just climbing out of bed.. I was up all night last night because of it. I'm flat exhausted. My mom has some appointments and then she's going to come help me with the kids so I can rest.

Hi!
No rest for the weary, we were up and at ‘em for speech today, then returned B’s new shoes (so much for Under Armour sneakers—they lasted a week. Back to Nike), and I let the kids pick out Christmas socks at Old Navy. I think I might go back and get pairs for my niece and nephew and mail those out.
I got home from urgent care last night to find DH cutting out all the party invitations (without being asked). Bless him. So I got those sent to school and we need to mail a couple others to non-school pals. B’s best buddy Andrew is ‘in’ so that’s 1 RSVP 😅

Oh hi, Monday. H had gymnastics this morning and he did so good. The couch kept picking him as the example and he was so proud. Now we’re home and I’m trying to get L to take a good nap so I can be productive.
L woke up feeling warm at 4am. His temp was 100 and he’s super congested. His temp is normal now but I’m definitely keeping an eye on him. Hoping this cold bug leaves our house soon, I’m over it. But what’s thanksgiving without someone being sick, right?!
And and we’re supposed to get over a foot of snow by the end of the week. I’m not ready.

Morning! Charlie had school this morning and I realized it would be my last free morning because he’s home for the rest of the week, so I ran out to the mall and did a quick run through Old Navy, stopped at three grocery stores and picked up the remaining odds and ends for my Thanksgiving feast (and of course, I still forgot one thing but I’m going to ask image to pick it up on his way home). I just ate a brownie and had a coffee as an afternoon pick me up. I’m using Josie’s episode on Saturday night as a way to avoid making dinner until I have to start cooking tomorrow for thanksgiving, so huzzah for a meal of yogurt, fruit, toast, leftover chicken, and some cheese. And I hope they like it tonight because they’ll be having it again tomorrow. We always order a pizza the night before Thanksgiving – anybody else?

We don't have any traditions like that but I need to start some. S school sent home a sheet to fill out with family traditions so they can write about them, and I am seriously blanking on any. Growing up, we always had Thanksgiving at my house. We always had lasagna the night before and my mom always made like 5 different ones - there were a handful of vegetarians who got a meatless one, kids who hated vegies who had just meat and cheese, my dad who hates cheese who had a small cheese-less one, and I think one with mushrooms and 1 without. Looking back, what a pain in the butt that must have been for my mom!

jewels, that does sound exhausting for your mom. I’m borrowing on a bunch of traditions that I had growing up, and starting to make new ones. This is really the first year that I feel like that both Kidd can start to see the importance of it.

This is really the first year that I feel like that both Kidd can start to see the importance of it. I feel like this is where we are, too. We've definitely started more for Christmas than we have for T'giving...I would say most of our T'giving traditions are food/meal related. Growing up, we'd usually go to PF Changs the night before Thanksgiving dinner, a) to give my mom a break from cooking and b) b/c Chinese food was so different than everything else we'd be eating that weekend

Today at school they had a turkey trot race. Each class ran 1 group at a time (k girls, k boys, 1st girls, 1st boys, and so on). When Sierra’s group ran, she of course was taking up the rear by quite a bit, but giving it her all. All the kids were finished and the whole school was standing around the finish line (k-6). They all started cheering for S and chanting “go Sierra go”. I wasn’t there, but her aide told me about it. She said it was such an amazing and sweet moment and her as well as about 4 other teachers all teared up. I love this community I live in and the support that everyone gives 💜.

N was snoozing til 8 and had a new bad cough so I decided to keep her home and to continue PT. I am excited to get to the other side of this..just not sure when that will be. I thought maybe I'd keep her home tomorrow, but she may be going to school with a pull up on since otherwise it'd be 11 days without school, and I'd be worried about my sanity since she is already acting like a 3 year old..

Glad you are feeling better, flamingo! Sounds like the shot was worth the pain. guster - After a Thanksgiving Eve incident at my parents' house that involved my Mom and (especialy) me getting legit hammered after a day of Thanksgiving prep, we are pretty diligent about making sure to eat a solid meal. This year with friends and family in and out, we are going the pizza route.
