Yay for meeting your new nephew klw! I have a new application hopefully launching this week. It’s been riddled with bugs so I may delay it until next week. It stresses me out. But, I am looking forward to having a little bit of time off for this long weekend.

We started decorating for Christmas yesterday. Usually, that is what I do the weekend after Thanksgiving so hopefully we will be able to relax a little bit.

I'm tired after dealing with a sick J and having a migraine.
Z is supposed to have his swallow study tomorrow after having to reschedule twice and we are supposed to have blizzard conditions this afternoon into tomorrow. I doubt we will make it since the hospital is an hour away on a good day. I thought about getting a hotel by the hospital tonight, but haven't decided.

I made it through the day! It actually went by pretty quickly and we got some extra stuff done in between the conferences. We had one the was so frustrating. The parents expectations are way beyond what is age appropriate. And the dad kept talking over us, even held up his hand to stop the teacher from talking.

She is the same parent who is wondering what to do with her daughter's social relationships because her precious is used to being around such mature and driven kids all the time who participate in some top level dance shenanigans. I guessing socializing with 8 and 9 year old plebes is just v difficult. I'm still searching for my eyeballs that rolled away.

We’re supposed to be getting some weather tonight so we decided to leave around lunchtime today instead of leaving tomorrow to go to my in-law’s. I have work to do this morning but still need to pack.
My boss approached me yesterday about taking another position yesterday due to a co-worker leaving. I’m a little torn. It’s a regional roll so it would include more travel which I’m hesitant about. I would be able to plan it out but there would be more. I would also eventually get a new boss. However, it’s more of a broad roll and I’d have the chance to be more strategic and would have a hand in the actual business. It would be a huge change but I also feel it would grow my skills quite a bit. I think our company is moving to more of a regional structure so it would probably be smart for for me to make the move for more opportunities in the future.
My co-worker who’s leaving the position got a VP position somewhere and I really think this roll prepared her for it.
I’m struggling because I’m happy with where I’m at and probably would be for several more years since I have a young kids. I definitely would like to advance in the future once my kids aren’t so needy and I don’t feel as bad about travel. Basically, I’m all over the place about this. I don’t know if this opportunity will come up again but I’m scared to take it.

We can't get out of our driveway. I had to drive all over for work yesterday afternoon and by the time I got home it was already getting bad out.

cara that's a tough decision, and I would he struggling big time as well. Would it come with a pay increase-could afford to outsource more so that when you are home it's more quality family time? H and I have these conversations all the time. I would like to do something slightly different but I just need to coast right now to make it through the little kid years. I'm good to be content for the time being. He, on the other hand, has no issue taking risks and changing things up. I think it's very personality dependent.

This is my first time having Wednesday off so I keep thinking that today is Thanksgiving.
DD1 wants to decorate the tree, but we can't have the ladder out around DD2. She keeps trying to climb it.

klw I am a wee bit worried about the Christmas tree with Charlie. DD was the exact same age her 2nd Christmas, and we has trained her to do "one touch-"a gentle touch with 1 finger. I have been trying that a lot with Charlie, and it has been an epic failure. At least he squeals and laughs when he's getting into things so I know he's up to something.

I already to DD1 only plastic type ornaments on the bottom. We'll see how it goes. 😬

we just don't do ornaments when we have a tree + a 1.5 year old! they end up everywhere.
also the year DS2 was this age, we had like 1 ornament on the tree-- a craft dough handprint he made at daycare-- and he took it off and ate it. 😂

I'm nervous about our tree being safe this year, but we'll figure it out!

DD1 never bothered with the tree ornaments. She was 11 months her first Christmas. Well see how H does

I have a baby gate going across the living room corner and the tree behind it. We hold him up so he can touch it some. Also no breakable ornaments this year.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Is everyone having a good day? How are the LOs doing?
Haley loved the sweet potatoes and the rolls the best. Right now, we are at ILs waiting on them to finish cleaning up so we can have dessert. We've been here for an hour waiting for it. And H's aunt has sooo many little things around that Haley wants to pick up. 🤪

C enjoyed the rolls and stuffing the most yesterday. DC is closed today also and I'm working. Luckily MH doesn't have to work. My ILs are going to come to see him early afternoon.

klw I hope she's feeling better today! Thanks. She slept all night so that is a good sign. I'll see how she is when she wakes up. 🤞

We had a nice time yesterday. J asked to to go to bed last night, which is unheard of and Z is still sleeping this morning. Also unheard of.

L did pretty good yesterday but didn’t eat much dinner. He went to town on the pie though! We’re having a gathering with his great-grandparents today and had lasagna for lunch. He ate a ton of that!

We took out the elf on the shelf. My 5 year old is very suspicious. Why does he look like a doll, why doesn’t he blink his eyes, can you catch him going back to santa on video? On and on. Sheesh!

DD1 was just asking about his eyes this morning too. I'm not sure what she believes anymore, but she still gets excited to see him

My mom got us an elf but we've never made it more than a decoration. Too much commitment for me 🙃. We got our tree today, but it was drizzling, so it's drying out in the garage. I guess we'll try to decorate it today.
Charlie either has an EI or another tooth coming. He was up twice last night and whimpering in his sleep. I thinking tooth as of now since his mood is normal and no fever. He does have a little bit of a runny nose though. There will definitely be Motrin before bed tonight.
