guster we have battery operated candles bc our outlets are so oddly placed in this house. They look nice but definitely put out less light than electric so you have to pick 1 type or another, or it looks weird from outside. Overall I’m happy with them, and they’re not as prone to tipping as the electric ones we’ve had, IME.

Hello chickies.
B had parent teacher interviews yesterday and he is doing so well. He is mature, puts his hand up, thinks before he speaks and gives good answers, plays with his peers well and she said that he is not afraid to tell someone that something is wrong when they’re playing together. I think naturally he’s a very shy person but I’ve made sure to get him out there so I’m so happy to hear that he is confident, I’m a proud Mama today😊
Today we left the house at 9am and they both have dental appointments and pedi check ups, we’re killing time now at an indoor playplace.

I am officially that age where moving to a new phone is a major headache. I wanna use my fancy new phone but I'm scared of cutting the cord on my old one!

I have always been very firm about no Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving... but pretty sure I'm going to decorate this weekend like a lot of you. We won't get our tree yet since we do real, but I'm ready for the pumpkins to be gone. I think the combination of the late Thanksgiving and already a big snowfall makes them look sad.

I think this is the first time I ever had a pumpkin go bad, normally they are still going strong thru T'giving and I'm guiltily throwing them out b/c I want to put up a Christmas wreath!

There's too much moisture for us to keep pumpkins long. The week after Halloween we chucked them because the slugs were going for them. Slimy the Slug already ate Cass' first pumpkin that didn't even make it to Halloween.

We’re battling illness here, too, although so far it seems mild.
X and P are full of green snot and Pop has thrown up the last couple of nights. Dude insists he’s so much healthier because he eats a lot of apples, and they keep the doctor away. I’m sure it’s because he got everything 479 times his first year of life, but sure, KOKO with eating all the fruit, kid.
The house is in pretty decent shape so I’m considering doing what I have been advised to do when the kids are with Pete and just, IDK, veg? Not sure I remember how.
I’m thinking about taking myself out for sushi tonight, then a jog. Tomorrow after infusion I will stay in bed and watch a shitty rom com or holiday movie. Saturday night I’m meeting friends at a brewery. Sunday morning I am hiking with my sister and then we’ll go to Little Ethiopia for lunch.

We've had an eventful year and are now living in SC. How in the world did you end up there? Job change? We’re good. I don’t know what you’ve missed, so here’s the highlight reel: I’m back in school, X was diagnosed with DCD and ASD (he’s currently in a SN preschool program and continues to be the most amazing human on the planet), I’m divorcing Pete. All the kids are doing awesome.

Holiday movie people, I give Holiday in the Wild (the African safari one with Kristin Davis and Rob Lowe) 2 enthusiastic thumbs up. I had extremely low expectations but it surprised me and it's one of my new favorite feel-good holiday movies.

I have completed all the assignments and quizzes for my first class! All I need to do is the course evaluation. It’s required that I be in the class for 3 weeks so I’m not starting the next one yet. They put the classes on sale at the beginning of the month so I’m waiting to see what the December sale is.
We are spending Thanksgiving with my husband’s family so we are staying at the other house. DS just got invited to play in an out of state tournament so what was set to be a nice family weekend, is now me alone with the other 3 again. I tonight he practices from 8:30-10 and tomorrow from 9-10:30. I miss hanging out what MH at night.

Wow! That's a lot in your corner, too! I'm sorry to hear about you and Pete. Glad to hear the kids are doing well, especially X. Early intervention can make such a dramatic difference. What are you studying?
Yes-ish on the job. We just had nothing going on where we were. My job disappeared; his opportunities were horrendous. And long, long story short, the only parent we're even on speaking terms at the moment with is my mother. So we decided to pack the whole crew up and hit the road. It's been amazing. Work is good for both of us. S is getting unbelievable support from her school and is a different kid in these three months. She was getting support for her ASD in MI, but this is laser targeted and intense.
We live on a mountain across from some friends' hobby farm and down the road from a gorgeous horse farm. A lake and waterfall a couple minutes away, and a state park out our back door. It's been so good for us. We were not in a good place when we arrived, and it's been healing.

Kid was complaining of stomach pain again, but seems fine. I told her it's a good thing she's going to the doctor tomorrow and maybe she just needs a shot in her stomach. "No, it doesn't hurt anymore, I'm fine!" That's what I thought.
I will still mention it to her doctor though, in case it actually is something.

Busy day today, lots of meetings in the 5 hours I was home mid day.. k has a blow out mid meeting and she proceeded to fall asleep since i actually has to talk, so that was a great parenting moment. Then we dropped of the deposit for K's daycare - and some random employee recognized me and remembered j, which was sweet. And then went to N's popsicle party at her class. Her teacher friend came over to sing and pretty sure she was more excited for that than me coming..

Whoa! ladystrat whet an update! I recall S had some speech delays, right? I didn’t know she got an ASD DX also. So happy she’s doing well.❤️❤️❤️ I’m sorry things were so rough for awhile, but really thrilled with your awesome developments. Weren’t you close to your MIL? Are you not on good terms with your H’s family any longer? ETA: I’m working on finishing my BS in health education/health promotion.

She was diagnosed last school year. I'd had my suspicions, but she's so high functioning that it took pretty in depth testing to confirm.
We were pretty close to his parents. But they made some choices regarding our kids that nearly tore our family apart. We're still dealing with the fallout. We're not even angry at this point, but we're not going to let it happen again.
It's just been good to have the distance. It's been a natural, unforced barrier as we've tried to figure out how to proceed.
How is your health?

ladystrat It’s as good as I can hope, I think. My fibromyalgia wore me down last week, but generally, my health is better now than it had been in many years, or maybe ever? My infusions have been very helpful.

My infusions have been very helpful. How often do you get your infusions? I’m absolutely amazed at the difference it’s made in S! And equally amazed how quick she goes downhill when she doesn’t get it on that 30 day mark.

After the unexpected turn of events Tuesday night, I entered the ticket lottery through lucky seats. I just got an email that the lottery tickets for dear Evan Hansen were unclaimed for tomorrow night & I was next on the list. So I got 2 tickets for tomorrow night for $50.

Well I should be pool side at GWL, drink in hand, having girl talk while Layla and her bestie go on water slides.... but we're home. Layla got sent home for vomiting at recess today so we had to reschedule. Going the Sunday after Thanksgiving. She was soooooooo disappointed My friend hadn't even told her daughter yet, it was going to be a surprise. I should have gone that route.
