I am at work and so tired. I had a really hard time falling asleep last night, even after taking melatonin so I was up way too late. After work I'll need to take H to get a haircut, but really its going to be like 1 or 2in off. She wants it shorter but she'll have to wait until after the nutcracker because I am not going to try getting really short hair into a bun.

I have no plans this weekend. Probably grab a few groceries and go to Walgreens to find something evie can take to help her cough/cold and make her sleep. I want to go for a run later today, it's supposed to be nice this weekend and cold AF Monday, so I should enjoy it.

Well, feels like afternoon b/c I've been up since 4:30 I woke up randomly, and just as I was starting to doze back off, Her Highness awakened at 5.

Quiet day here, which I am looking forward to--the last few weekends have been packed full. I also need to wrap C's birthday gifts.

Pretty good for the most part. Nauseous if I eat too much or wait too long between meals, tired, tender breasts, bloated, the usual.

Morning! Lazy day planned here after cleaning house this morning. I told Dh I’m still on maternity leave and i need his help cleaning since we have company coming overnight tomorrow. After this, we plan on watching the gopher game at 11 and then lounging all day.

It's a girls day. I'm meeting up with my girlfriend and we're going bazaaring. She plans it out like a mission with all the addresses and the order of places to go. I love it.

Then we're having late lunch/early dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Yum.

I bought a car Thursday night! I got a Rav4 Hybrid. So far I love it. Everyone except for the finance guy at the dealership were pricks. I gave them a bad Google review. My old car needed new tires so before the ice started I thought it's time.

I have a happy story. Yesterday MH and I were talking about the other kids at TKD and agreed this one kid, P, is our favorite. (He's the 12 yo I often spar with.) I also randomly googled the Big Brother/Sister program in our area because I was thinking about mentorship.

Last night in class the instructor had us turn to people next to us and thank them for practicing TKD with us. P turned to my husband and said, "You're like a father figure to me" as they did the Korean handshake. Then he came to me and said a handshake wasn't enough and gave me a big hug. ❤❤❤

This kid has had a lot of growth and development since his time at TKD. He's raised by his grandma and I've never seen his parents there. Scott and I are going to talk to his grandma and see if she minds if P does some family activities with us occasionally and I encouraged Scott to take him to do one-on-one outings so P can have a guy to talk to if needed. Cass invited P to her birthday party and he's really excited to go.

I've always felt an urge to foster/adopt older kids because they are forgotten in society. We aren't in a place in our lives to do something like that now, but I love being a part of a kid's life who needs more caring adults.

Holiday craft shows. Hopefully there will be some cute homemade goods. I hope to find something for my sister for Christmas and maybe the girls' teachers.

I’m surprised you still have them your business. Congrats on the new car! You also just reminded me that I need to call Sams and cancel the tires I ordered two weeks ago.

Morning.

The space heater kept us warm last night and when I woke up it was only 65 I’m the rest of the house. Now I need to start making calls about it.

M woke up wanting to write out his Christmas list. He saw the Amazon Christmas catalog that came with stickers and a wish list so he is working on that.


Not much on the agenda today. I’ll be tuning in to the LSU Alabama game and maybe working on some potty training with M2.

It'll be the last time. I've purchased 3 cars from them over the years and had a great experience with my last car. I'm done. I used the Costco program so the price of the car was already set when we got there, but they lied about their inventory, the KBB price of my trade-in, and financing. I'm glad I did my research and called them out on all of it. I'm sure they take advantage of a lot of people.

inthekitty I love that you are going to try to include that boy in family stuff. I wish I was allowed to do that with my students this year. I have mostly boys, almost none with fathers in their lives, a few of which have had the fathers deported. I’m sure some of there special needs are only a result of their environment.

We already had a hockey game, I ran home and baked half the cupcakes for T’s party tomorrow. Now we have 2 soccer games, a birthday party, and then finally the adults only dinner with my cousin. I need to bake the rest of the cupcakes somewhere in there and maybe feed my kids (or just Uber eats them something when the sitter is here).

Morning - apparently k will tolerate the miracle blanket and slept a lot better than normal...so hopefully it wasn't a fluke. I finally tried my new Spectra pump and it is lovely. I bought some adapters to use with Medela parts, but I tried it with the parts it came with and may stick with those, fewer actual pieces. And k took a bottle like a champ, thankfully since we waited so long!

Lazy day here, hoping to get a workout in and a shower, and maybe make some progress on the spare room.

As we were leaving last night, my mom had her retired police officer friend give her a field sobriety test 🤣 it was hilarious. She started dancing when he had he touch her nose with one foot up. Then this morning I wake up to a video of her doing the chicken dance on stage with her friends. I'm so glad she had fun. Her best friend from high school came and that about made her cry. They still talk daily but both are caring for sick family and they rarely get to see each other.

lahdeedah have you ever made the Italian wedding soup recipe from Cooking Classy? (I ask since the creamy chicken noodle recipe was hers). I’ve never made Italian wedding soup but her recipe looked great so I was just curious.

Just got back from a girl scout hike. Cadence was the only one from our troop again. She got 2 badges, a real one and a "fun" one. She's pretty excited.

That’s a bummer! At our dance school 5 year olds are cupcakes, 6 year olds are cotton candy and 7 year olds are angels/trumpeters. Luckily we don’t have to buy costumes, they supply them we just have to pay a cleaning fee.
