J was a mess. I put him to bed 30 minutes late in hopes of a good sleep. We went to bed at 915. J woke up at 515. Refused his nap. I put him down last night at 730. He woke up and was up from 230 to 345. I am so done with time change.

In other news J is trying really hard to jump which is cute. He also has started putting up 1 finger whenever we say 1. He is trying 2 but ends up with 4 fingets up. Also, while he doesnt talk much i swear he can count. He touches things and makes a noise that sounds like 1 2 3 4 and 5. Its so interesting.

I'm sorry for the time change crap sleep king26. I didn't realize until last minute I had plans for my parents to watch the kids overnight Saturday so it ended up being their problem! LOL #blessed. (They were up for the day at 5:00 with the time change). I put them to bed earlier last night and they did ok, M was up early again but went back to sleep in my bed and my D1 like 6:30 so right before my alarm anyways. I swear though today or tomorrow will be the real test. It always seemed worse on day 2 or 3 but maybe that was me and not the kids, haha

Oh gosh DST changes always mess up my whole house. I hate it. Put the kids to bed a little late Saturday, they were up at 4am Sunday. L has been getting up for either a really long couple hour stretch at night or just a ton of short wake ups. Last night she was up from 11:30p-2:30a and then DS went into her room and woke her up at 5am. He’s on my shit list today.
I’ll be fighting one or both kids about sleep for the next few weeks.

I miss our steady time of good sleep, feels like it was a looonggg time ago

Well I feel like a bit of a dummy now, I noticed during Ls post nap snuggling that all of her molars are cutting through. That may help explain some of the sleep nonsense. Motrin before bed tonight!

Ugh. I keep checking Ns mouth for molars bc I’m sure it’s coming and it’s going to destroy any sanity I have left. DH is being so resistant to changing Ns sleep schedule it’s really fucking annoying me.
DST wasn’t awful. I also had to work soooo I didn’t have to deal w N getting up at 6:30. But that’s not bad bc it’s really 730 and so he slept longer than usual lol. But DH was grumpy. Sorry bro 🤷🏻♀️
He’s still up to similar shenanigans except now he doesn’t want to sleep in our bed, but my back is destroyed after one night of futon sleep so I refuse and he freaks out bc I say no to the futon. Omfg.
I’m so excited. I changed my flight to come back earlier from our Florida trip so I get some me time before they come back and I just scheduled a 90min massage for that evening. And made dinner plans for two nights with girlfriends. Only 2 weeks away!

So have you decided to wait until after your trip to try the new sleep schedule the consultant suggested?

So I told him at the very least we need to start the earlier bedtime routine now even if we don’t do the full fledge training until they get back and he said ok and then it just didn’t happen last night which was supposed to be night one and I got so annoyed and just decided to release it bc what can i do if it’s already 8pm. Didn’t help that N has another effing cold again. So here we are. Waiting.

To be fair, he tries so hard to deal with N but N physically pushes him away and screams his head off if I am home and he knows it. If I’m not home he’s fine with him. My mom told me N has the Oepidus complex the other day 😒 thanks, mom. But yeah. I know he’s resisting bc bedtime at 7 means there will be many nights where he does not get to see N at all. But idk what else we can do.

addymac That is so tough that the earlier bedtime means your dh barely gets to see N. Is he always on that schedule?

No, but when he’s on those heavy rotations it is a month at a time, and coming up in December and January it’s two months of back to back heavy rotations. And also then he normally gets home at 6, so it’s also just like a really short time of playtime together. It’s just a mess all around.

M has two molars coming in She’s being a skutch and throwing tons of toys and slapping me and C. She sleeps great but is a little terrorizing some times. And the non stop demands to be held. You guys mentioned it here and then at my house it ramped up. Thanks! Super simple songs taught her to count to 20. I take zero credit for that. It’s also teaching her colors and shapes and tons of words. Some people are anti screen time. But educational annoying songs are helpful. And blippi, GAWD. We went to a fire house tour and she says. Blippi fire truck. No, ugh. Oh J loves Blippi fire truck...all the time. Which educational songs are helping her?

On you tube super simple songs, Dave and Ava, cocomellon/ abc kids tv Dave and Ava also have an educational app. They have a little free version that we use I actually haven’t given Maria the iPad in a long time now that I think about it Little baby bums too- but it’s what nightmares are made of. Lol, M watches baby bum nursery rhymes on Netflix 😂 My kid is obsessed in the Leap pad which kind of sucks.

H gets home at 5:45pm Monday through Friday and the kids bedtime is 6:30-7pm depending on behavior. It is what it is... kids need sleep for their brains and body.
T once had a bedtime of 8pm, but once she started preschool she wouldn’t wake up on her own early enough to get ready, so I had to move it back to 7pm. She now gets up 6:30-7am - so, until she starts waking earlier then it’ll stay there.

Haha the animation on little baby bums has always creeped me out too. And Blippi pisses me off. I banned Blippi for ds1 but tried it for toddler H to see if it would help with his speech, but he wasn't interested.
I just bought this book, "glow kids" about the dangers of screen time and it's freaking me right out because my kids get plenty.

They had something about toddlers and screen time on the news and it freaked me out. However, J still gets probably an hour or so of screen time a day but he plays plenty. Its the world we leave in.

I don’t stress myself about screen time- they don’t have it all day every day. 🤷🏻♀️That books sounds like it’d make me think long and hard about it though.

@starzia Man it’s tough to be on your own for what I find to be the hardest part of the day with kids. My spouse’s schedule can be all over the place so it’s maybe half the time he misses dinner or bedtime. I’m grateful it’s not everyday!

Oh @starzia. You’re a superstar. I don’t think I would have survived with a schedule like that. I get pissy enough when B is on one of his heavier rotations and they last for a month at a time.
