Would you guys bring a gift to a gender reveal party for a close friend? I was thinking something small like a board book or a wubbanub. I'll be giving a shower gift and probably a gift after baby is born too. I hate showing up to events empty-handed. Totally up to you, but you probably don't need to worry about it. I'm kind of the same way though.

So, it looks like DS has hand foot and mouth. A family discovered their kids had it after church on Sunday, DS was in the playroom with them that morning, so I've been keeping an eye out all week. Poor guy has a fever around 102, no energy, and just wants to snuggle. I've noticed a couple red dots so far, but haven't looked in his mouth. He seems super uncomfortable, and passed out on me an hour before his usual nap time. I've never dealt with HFM before, so any words of wisdom on how to keep DS comfortable would be appreciated. Also, how long do I need to keep him quarantined? We're supposed to go to a family event on memorial day, but I don't know if we should go now. WWO17D? There really is no "cure" for HFM besides motrin to control the pain and just waiting it out. Usually incubation period is 4-5 days depending on when the sores go away/scab over. Depending on how he's feeling, he may be okay by Monday. I'd just not let him come in contact with any kids or anything because he can still be contagious afterwards for a few days. ETA: Hope he feels better soon!!

I'm here! Changed my name but kept the avatar the same (formerly slmck).
I got my TCF content deleted on the weekend and deleted my account once I confirmed all was gone.

The weather is rainy and gross here too. It sucks I have to venture out into the City by subwway in about 10 minutes. You know else sucks?? The lab losing my 24 hour urine collection!!! WTF? Do they know how annoying it is to pee in a container? Especially when you wake up three times in the middle of night?? The nurse thinks it's total BS because they didn't lose my blood work that was attached to my container bag. OMG no!!! I would be so pissed!!!

Today is DS's last swim lesson and I'm having H take him alone. I'm tired of making chit chat with his teacher and if I'm not in a chatty mood she constantly asks me what's wrong. Sometimes I just want to be silent!

DS had it last year (and then passed it to me, yay). Tylenol or motrin could help if his throat hurts. I believe they aren't contagious 24 hours after the fever, so if it breaks today or tomorrow then you could probably still go.

I don't why I'm torturing myself watching the remake of Dirty Dancing. It is the literal worst.

Not exciting. I go to the worst places for work. I'd name names but then someone would recognize me. I'm almost home.

I can't tell if the zpack is working for my sinus infection so I'm self treating with some hot and sour soup from my favorite Chinese place today. It's rainy and yucky here but dd is finishing the week at daycare so I've got the house to myself for soup and a nap! I'll get an avatar soon too... Hot and sour soup is my go-to remedy when I'm sick. It works wonders.

The thought ran through my mind for a minute, but I'd heard it's not common for adults to catch it...now I'm a little more concerned. lol I know it wouldn't affect the baby, but still, nothankyouplease. I gave him a half dose of Tylenol earlier, and he finally got off the couch for a little bit to play. I'm hopeful that he'll be ok by Monday. Thank you!

Truly random, but has anyone been researching pumps? I had a Phillips one last time that didn't work very well so I'd like to get a different one this time. I found this on Facebook today and wonder if it's worth the $$. My insurance should cover it, but I'd most likely have to pay out of pocket first. nayahealth.com

Even though I'd be able to get a new pump through insurance, I'll probably just use my Medela Pump in Style. It worked well for me.
Actually, maybe I will get another one so it can stay at work. Hmmmm...

I just looked at the Naya, and was like ooh that's neat. Then I got to the price.

racegurl87, last time around my insurance only offered two pumps to choose from that they would pay for - Medela Pump in Style or an Ameda I think. I went with the Medela since that seemed to be the most popular in the research I did. Worked just fine for my needs.

cougarette I know... if you sign up for their email list you get a $200 off code but it expires in 2 weeks. I have Tricare and their website says they don't make you choose and you could even get it off Amazon and they'll reimburse you as long as you follow the proper steps needed. I struggled with bf and pumping last time and it hurt when I pumped even on the lowest setting. If H okays the oop cost I might get this one since it's a different movement than a traditional pump.

I do not like tapa talk! anyone not like it at first but grow to like it? Yeah sorry lol, that's a no. I mean, it does it's job and isn't the worst thing in the world. Imo, adding pictures on tapa is easier than the desktop, but sad panda they're huge.

racegurl87 Plus one to the Madela PISA. That thing is a work horse - I used mine for 2 yrs with DS and it still works great. Replacement parts are easy to pick up for it too. Not familiar with the other options you mentioned, so i am no help there. Good luck making your selection! Also, your In-N-out picture had me drooling...i loooooove that place so hard. Very sad we're literally an ocean away from the closest one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Chiming in late...it's actually already Friday where i live, but I'll just add along here.
We're in the process of frantically trying to escape the bugs and moving our belongings into a temporary apartment/storage. Chaos and madness. 😩
