We were supposed to get rain on Halloween this year, but the forecast has changed and now it's just going to be overcast. But I'm sure that could change...! Weather has been kind of nutty here lately.
I don't recall Halloween getting moved due to bad weather when I was a kid, but occasionally it would fall on the same Saturday as the FL/GA game, and the city would opt to 'move' Trick-or-treating to either Friday or Sunday. With so many people out drinking/partying and all the game-related traffic, etc, the thought was that kids would be safer doing it on another night. We always went to the games so that was fine with us.

Successful trip to Dillards, C has her new shoes and we had fun looking at all the Christmas trees, etc. That girl loves to shop.
I also had her try on some boots for a possible birthday gift. She looked so stinking cute in the UGGS, and I haven't been able to find a knock-off I like as much. Soooo now I am debating over whether to pull the trigger on those. I did see people buying/selling them in a FB resale group I'm in, so I think I could recoup some of the cost. (clearly I'm trying to justify this). As my mom said, buy them now while she's still little, the price is going to double once she outgrows the little kids sectionl! #truth Ha, maybe you would like to buy them, Nana?

It's cold and rainy every year on Halloween here. And every year people are all, "we should change it to always be on a Saturday". It's not that big of a deal people, it's not like kids are out trick or treating for hours on end and too tired for school the next day. We've been doing it this way for forever. Let your kid run around in the rain for an hour collecting ungodly amounts of candy that you will get to eat while hiding in a closet so they don't hear you opening the wrappers. It's one night.

I'm washing carseats and cleaning my car so I can install Mallory's new convertible seat. I went to take the seat belt out of Jack's and it wasnt strapped in!!!!! I'm guessing one of them accidentally unclipped it and didnt notice or tell me..

I buy her leather t-straps for school every fall which are $60ish so IDK why that extra $10 is bothering me, lol. I know she’ll wear the heck out of the boots this fall and winter, and the knock-offs are still $50+. I think it just feels really *extra* for a 3 y.o.

We stopped at a rest area in CT or somewhere and I realized B’s seat wasn’t fully buckled in. I felt like the worst mother in the world.

Hey. I spent the morning cleaning and doing laundry. Fresh sheets for everyone! S still has a low fever so she had to miss school today. Right now is naptime and then this evening we will carve pumpkins. flamingo have you checked out the Koolaburra by uggs? They sell them at kohl’s and possibly shoe carnival. I bet they are cheaper and probably about the same as the regular uggs.

I just give them a little tug on the door side to make sure they’re snug.

The style I really like doesn’t come in her size (either that or it’s sold out everywhere). There were a couple others that were ‘ok’ but they’re all still in the 50-60 range, so then I think, pay a little more to get what I like and they’ll resell better? This agonizing is dumb, it is $10 🤦🏻♀️

Thanks. They’re ok, but I want suede; we’ve done ‘fabric’ the last couple years and they get beat up so fast. Also, would you believe she’s an 11? It’s an awkward size...a lot of toddler shoes only go to sz 10. Then the big kid styles start looking more grown up. I’ll probably just suck it up and get the real thing. To be filed under, Things I swore I’d never do 🤦🏻♀️

My MIL bought M a pair of Uggs when she was a newborn. Biggest waste of money ever. My SIL's friend works for them in San Francisco.

I moved into women's sizes in 3rd grade and I think she will be the same way. Newborn B probably could have used UGGs in Kansas, lol. Definitely would not need them in FL. This will probably be the only pair we ever buy, ha!

flamingo just buy her one dress less 😉, that’s how I justified the shoes for dd, she didn’t need a new winter coat.

Hi hi - I decided late last night to keep N home and we went to the popular fall festival for the day. We had a great time and I was pretty pleased with myself managing her and k solo. Of course she only slept 10 min in the car and wouldn't go back down, so it was long late afternoon..
I'm going to work tomorrow with k and to see my boss before her last day, in theory I should do my mid year review, but that sounds aggressive for tonight.

My normally very sweet boy that rarely gets in trouble is pushing boundaries. He's lying, hitting, throwing, dramatics. It's a real change in his behavior. I think partly he is tired or needs time of no stimulation. We are losing our minds here because it came out of nowhere

Omg Sunny41, yes on the dramatics! She's doing better at school, but is an absolute nightmare at home. I took her tablet away for not listening and she cried for a good hour about until it was finally bedtime. So ridiculous.

You know that movie 50 first dates? At the end she watches a video each morning about how her life is to catch her up since she has no memory. I'm going to do that each morning with the rules of the house....
