Hello! I'm at work and then hitting up Target to get some stuff to "boo" our neighbors. The kids are excited!

Morning.
I have to work a half day, but don’t go in until 12. I’ll leave a little early to make some returns. Just folding laundry for now.
What’s going on with everyone else?

I'm fighting off a cold that I'm assuming H gave to me. So much congestion that my head is pounding and I have a bad cough. It makes me feel bad for him because if I feel this yucky I can't imagine what he feels like. At least i can take sudafed.

Our bus stop is at the end of our street. It’s Josie and another kindergartner. The man who lives right by the bus stop is older and retired and comes out every morning to “get his mail,” But he really just wants to talk. He’s so nice and has known the other mom for years. Yesterday he told me that he and his wife have a huge garden in the back of their house and he was going to bring me some vegetables. I thought he was just being kind, but this morning he presented me with this giant basket of beets. I already have them cleaned and roasting in the oven. It was so nice. He’s also a part of a group called the ROMEOS. It’s the retired older men eating out. They meet at the local diner each morning. It’s so damn cute.

He’s such a nice neighbor, too.

A little bag of treats and a note that they've been "boo-ed" Cute! I've never heard of this. It's fun! If you get boo-ed then you hang a sign on your door so that you aren't booed again...that way someone else gets booed next. We always include alcohol for the parents if we know they drink and candy/little toys for the kids!

mamabear, yeah, that would be a big no no at our school and after school program. We even got an email the other day about the etiquette when eating lunch with your kid. If you want to eat outside that's fine, but you then have to walk around to be buzzed in again because the door locks behind you and apparently some parents had been propping open the door while they ate so they could just go back in the same door. Not allowed. I would take it a step up from the teacher, or even the school principal. Is the door area covered at all, so that the parents wouldn't actually be IN the rain if they were waiting?

klong11 , no unfortunately no awning or overhang hmmm, maybe they should invest in a removable one that they can set up when it is raining.

Morning!
Busy morning here...we are leaving tmrw afternoon for SC. DH and I are going to a football game with some friends, and my ILs are taking the kids to Great Wolf Lodge. So lots to do and now there’s a group text with tailgating info so my to-do list is growing 😳
After we dropped C off, B and I ran to Williams Sonoma to get a couple items for his class’s raffle basket for the school carnival. It’s a new location and I’d never been in it before...absolutely amazing. I’m ready to move in and become Ina Garten.

He's also a member of something called the Old Guard where they do lectures and go on day trips (like Atlantic City/West Point, etc). He really is living his best retired life.

mamabear With all that is happening in the world these days- especially with school shootings- it would be an issue for me. It’s thoughtful of her, but would not make me feel like my child is safe and secure.

I'm kind of meh on the door being propped open cause of the rain mamabear , if it becomes habit I'd send an email to clarify the guidelines but for this instance I'd leave it.

Pass the coffee.

Maybe they could station someone at the door to open it when parents are coming in. We pick up from the cafeteria doors, and they have an aide there to open the doors for us when it’s raining. Otherwise, on sunny days, we have to wait until about 312 to get in for the 315 pick up

Well I somehow have all 3 kids at home. J claims he's too sick with a headache and a sore throat..no fever though, so hopefully he's not playing us with needing a sick day. Mh was going to drive N in, but she was still out at 7:30 and her cough sounds worse than J...so here we are. I made it til 10:30 before the tv was turned on, but steering into a day on the couch for forced relaxing. I'd very much like them both at school tomorrow since k has her one month appt and there's a fall fest at preschool.
I ordered a new pixel last week but have not had the time to activate it yet. Of course they just announced a pixel 4 the other day, which explains why there was a special on the 3..oh well.

tallb Hope the two bigs are ok and can go back to school tmrw. I guess it’s officially that time of year 😒 C’s getting over a light cold, but DH and I have both been struck down by something :/ Bleh. Just praying B doesn’t get it bc colds always seem to settle in with him (whereas C gets over them in a couple days).

Morning. L is finally starting to have a little newborn fussiness instead of just sleeping all the time. He was just awake for 3 hours before finally falling asleep nursing. Now I need to lay him down so i can get some stuff done.
We put together H’s twin bed last night so now I need to get the room organized. The curtains and nightstand should arrive today and then I just need new wall decor. He will share the room with L eventually so it took a while to figure out how to configure everything. Bonus- he actually stayed in his bed all night! Hopefully that continues.
