ssm, big hugs... do you have a history of pre-e? or is this something new this pregnancy? i had severe pree with ds. I'm not quite sure when things started to get severe. We didn't really know for sure until 37wks. But my bp started climbing around 32wks. By 35wks my swelling was getting severe and my ob started to get concerned. She warned me that no matter what, I probably wouldn't make it past 38 wks. In the end, the day I turned 37wks, my bp was 160/110. i was sent to triage and my ob said that no matter what my urine sample said, I was being induced. They weren't going to let me go any longer.

With this history, I would not be surprised at all if it's pre-e again. Hopefully they figure it out soon!

And that's why my friend and husband are so concerned. Kind of one of those been there done that and this sounds way too familiar type things. I never felt off with ds. But this time I do. I just don't feel right. And that's what is so concerning. I have arranged for someone else to keep ds during my appointment tomorrow, just in case I have to do labs or whatever ends up. That way he isn't stuck dragging around with me for however long it takes.

Well it is as I expected. Another glucose test today. I'm glad I followed my gut and left ds with a friend. All my symptoms could be from a few different things - not being hydrated enough - blood sugar too low - blood sugar swings from super high to super low - not enough protein - it is always possible to be a bp issue, but since I haven't checked it in the middle of a bad spell, I can't really say
My dip test was a bit concentrated and showed trace proteins. But that can happen if you are dehydrated as well. So not sure exactly on that.
She is checking my electrolytes as well.
I'm not sure if I helped or hindered myself today. I ate chicken tenders on my way over for some protein. But I also ate a biscuit. Now I'm kicking myself.
She is glad that I am keeping an eye on the bp to see about trends or trying to pinpoint if things dont go well.

Oh and I come back in 2 wks instead of 4 just to touch base and see how things are I'm glad the doctors seem to be taking your concerns seriously and will be checking you more frequently. Like I mentioned before, I had very similar symptoms during my pregnancy with DS. I think my genetically low blood pressure (runs in the family) was a big part of the problem. I've found that drinking at least 2 liters of water a day, eating a healthy snack every 2-3 hours, and trying to eat lots of lean protein, vitamin C, and vitamin K have really helped me this time around. Oh - and staying out of the heat helps a lot too. Hope you start to feel better and that the doctors continue to monitor closely!

Are you going to try and test your BP during a bad spell? yes I'm pretty much taking my cuff with me everywhere now. 👎🏻 annoying but the right thing to do. I have a Bluetooth one that connects to an app. It isn't huge or cumbersome, but it is one more thing to keep up with.

The ob called me back. I failed the 1 hr. The limit was 140. Mine was 152. So I go back next week and do the 3hr. 👎🏻
My blood tests came back. Iron levels were a teensy bit low, but not abnormal for pregnancy low. My creatinine had risen a touch, but it is still within the acceptable range. It was 0.6 in first tri. Now it is 0.66. If I understand correctly, it can be up to 1.5 before being abnormal. She isn't concerned with that small of an increase.
