joelies be sure to not small talk anyone about weather with your Cdn city counterparts. Pretty sure they're mad as hell this morning. One of my team members is visiting here in CT - he flew out of snow yesterday and landed into a gorgeous evening. His timing was impeccable - we have a scheduled trip to a local farm/creamery on Wednesday when it's supposed to be sunny and about 80.

We’re still in the 90s here😩 No, not where I am, about 3 hours south of me and into Waterton National Park which is right on the border. We had a dusting of snow when I woke up the other morning, but it didnt stay of course. It made me get my ass in gear and all the kids winter stuff has been tried on, washed and new stuff bought. It's great for the mountains and the skiing will be amazing this year for them to have a base like this.

Hi hi. Our weather is being so weird. It was in the 40s yesterday morning, stormed overnight, and is supposed to be 85 today, then back to the 50s the rest of the week. Bizarre.
Had my 39 week appt this morning which was quite discouraging. I’m barely 1cm, baby is still high. I was convinced there would be a little more progress, but I shouldn’t be surprised. So probably no baby this week.

My parents were just at Waterton/Glacier Nat'l Park earlier this month and it was gorgeous, and still warm (upper 70s). We saw they got plastered with 2' + of snow this past weekend (insert :horrified: emoji, lol) Somewhat related, I was looking back at our pictures from our first fall/winter here this past year and saw we had the heavy coats out in November. Last year was a much milder winter, we didn't need that stuff til after Christmas. Interested to see how this one will turn out.

We're supposed to have an unseasonably cold winter. It's already snowed in the mountains which is unusual for here. Oof to that morning lfig. That's so sad trtlcrzy. I hope you feel better soon.

So let me know if I'm totally rude here- my sis suggested she come up with her kids in 2 weeks to meet the baby. I asked if she'd my one staying at my mom's bc I'm not sure we need 2 more kids and only one extra adult. It's the first weekend after mh goes back to work, we still are trying to figure out what we are doing, and j is still adjusting to k and has been sick for 3 weeks. She said "sure", but I suspect she's annoyed. Earlier she had suggested coming up solo, but I guess that's not happening 🙄

My kids missed the bus so I used the opportunity to pick up some chai tea to warm me up while doing an outdoor project this morning.

Not rude tallb. Recovering mom always gets to decide how many "helpers" come to the house.

It didn't bother me and I was happy to have the help. But I grew up in a house where family always stays with us, no matter what. So, I'd get my feelings hurt if my sister told me to stay somewhere else. We're really close though.

tallb Not rude. My sister is my BFF, but she stayed with my parents when she came after C was born, and my kids and I stayed at my parents’ when my nephew was born. I am Team Give Mom Some Space. If your house was the only option that would be one thing, but your mom is local. It’s not like you’re asking them to get a hotel.

tallb IIRC, your sister’s kids can be a handful behavior-wise, right? If so, I would not be looking forward to having them at this time either. I get where you are coming from.

tallb not at all rude. I love company, but I’m also easily overwhelmed and in need of just my own family. Also, not sure how your kids would handle this, but for mine this might be a bit to much. It s already a real adjustment phase, two additional kids in the mix 🤷🏼♀️. New moms make the rules when it comes to visitors in my book.

Not rude, tallb. Especially with your parents nearby. I love my nieces but do not want them staying in my house shortly after having a baby.

wineallthetime That all looks delicious, I'm coming over. I'd add some more fruit, like green and red grapes, or different types of apples. Something that is fresh and crunchy.

That looks fine to me wineallthetime. Veggie trays always seem to go over well IME so if you’re on the fence about it I’d do one, but otherwise I think you’re good!

wineallthetime that all looks so good! I would maybe add some hotdogs for the kids if the party is around dinner time. But that might be due to my kid .

I finished my project (moving a bunch of rocks to get a space prepped for fake grass for a doggy bathroom area). It was a couple of hours of strenuous labor and then I worked out so I got my swole on. 💪
Now I'm sitting in peace for a few more minutes watching Bad Teacher before I pick up the girls.

That's why I feel bad tgrimes and flamingo, we are pretty close but typically we stay at different parents houses. We technically can fit them in the basement but the kids don't exactly get along all the time and are SO loud when together. Once she's a bit older, we will be more comfortable with hosting everyone, but I doubt I'll be sleeping more within 2 weeks. Oh well I need to let it go, bc regardless mh would be pissed if I didn't say no.. they are polar opposites, so it is difficult under normal circumstances, let alone on broken sleep.

Menu looks delicious, @wine! I remade a new batch of pumpkin cookies today – I used yellow cake box mix, the pumpkin, and white chocolate chips like you suggested, and they are a big hit. Taking them Josie’s school tomorrow for the secretaries.
